    Makes me so happy to see a biologist in front of a news camera candidly postulating, but then saying, "Who knows! We're just projecting and guessing really..." SO REFRESHING. Sometimes we don't have reasons. Because sometimes there are none. If nature needed a reason for every single thing to happen "outside of the norm" none of us would be here at all. Ugh! Some say that the phasing out of species is normal/ suppose to happen... & we shouldn't intervene or be upset, because as one species leaves... another one is coming in. It's suppose to happen that way. Now if we're directly responsible for the extinction... I'm sure that's different... but for the most part we should allow these changes to occur... the planet and its lifeforms are constantly evolving & changing & that's a beautiful thing.
      Also... I bet he's not the only one in the area. Strange things are popping up all over... and many go undetected for some time, as people tend to spend more time looking down these days and are often oblivious to their surroundings. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a whole family tucked away in a well hidden nest nearby. We're going to see a lot more things like this in the near future... new creatures are already showing up all over... I think we're going to have big changes on every level... bigger than we could imagine.

      From Alaska it would have either had to follow Canada’s northern shore line or headed down the Western shores of the Americas. Per your theory. Do at least look at a map that has North and South America. Considering the miles flown so far, it would be in South America. May have even made the turn at its tip and be in Argentina. Unless it followed the Panama Canal. Where it was spotted in Texas is nowhere near the Gulf of Mexico.

    After the CA fires, we had a group of birds move onto our coastal CA property for around a week. They were huge and had very similar wing colors... the strangest thing is that we all noticed that they sounded like dinosaurs (just like the gentlemen said). There were about six of them and they moved on after the week, but we have quite a bit of footage. We have many vultures along with hawks and other bird of prey on our remote land that we are very familiar with (even naming most of them), however these things certainly were bigger and pushed all the other birds out for a while. I have never seen this happen in 30+ years... I would love to send some video/images to anyone that might be able to identify them. Our local natural history museum seems to think they may have been a small group of CA condors that were pushed to the coast by all the fires, but we would love to know!

I was in my backyard forest and seeing it flying nearly overhead. The trees were in the way so I couldn’t 100% indemnify it but that is a ver low chance of being him.

      He spoke of the destruction of their food sources, which are part of their habitat. When fish take in lead from polluted waters, the eagles can then ingest it and die before mating, or in the case of bald eagles that ingested the long-banned DDT, their eggs would be too soft to support the developing chicks. Like bald eagles, they eat from the sea and maybe large lakes.

    This is like the same bird that was in my back yard approximately 2 years ago... I didn't notice this Massive bird... I was sitting at my table writing, it was summer, beautiful cloudy day and it literally Jumped the Sh#t out of me... I heard it taking flight from atop of a tree in my yard, It was such a Extremely Loud almost like a helicopter overhead... but I looked out after it startled me (putting it lightly) and I just caught the size and it looked like a pterodactyl , obviously not that massive... I just know that the distance from the tree line and height of the tree it was it was pretty high and after it took flight the trees where still shaken violently where it was when it flew off. Now at least I have cameras in my yard maybe I'll be able to catch whatever the bird was in my yard, if its ever to come bk by.. The Swift river rolls through my yard and i can see why Any flying type creatures wld stop in for awhile. I didn't notice the colors, from that unforgettable sound I heard that jumped me, to looking out my window.. into the direction of the sound and the whole basically top of the tree and a large branch just below was like shaking wth such force, but the sound of the wings making that... Whoosh... Whoosh, Whoosh... Growing faster and faster Sound of a Winged Creature as its about to take flight., I can't get over that Sound . I still think about it often.

      The earth's magnetic field isn't influenced by man. It emanates from deep inside the core... And it changes by itself from time to time.
      This is just a one-off bird that got lost somehow, which is nothing new, raptors can fly enormous distances at high speeds, with their great wingspan-to-weight ratio.

    • @tomdb2
      @tomdb2 2 года назад

      Messing up the magnetic field may not be something we can do, but there are many things we *have* done that impact bird migration. Our lights confuse them, there's evidence other waves (ELF, microwaves, cell phone emissions) we put out there do as well, habitat loss along migration routes pushes them elsewhere, climate change causes increasingly violent weather events that knock more and more of them off course, etc etc etc. Why do you think that even though the bird population as a whole has decreased dramatically over the last 50 years, we're finding more and more birds in places they're not supposed to be. Some of that is, no doubt, because there are more and more birders who are getting better and better at birding with better and better equipment, plus the Net is helping get the word out about every find (which often leads to others), but I seriously doubt that accounts for all of what we're seeing.
