THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST START UP PODCAST VIDEO EVER ! VERY DETAILED & STRAIGHT TO THE POINT . THANK YOU ! I JUST BOUGHT MAJORITY OF MY SETUP OFF YOUR AMAZON WISHLIST
I love having the option to either watch or listen. Makes it super easy to find time to consume the podcast every week (either when I'm at my desk, driving, on a walk etc). But RUclips is definitely how I came across the podcast in general. I feel like people are just more willing to try out new content on RUclips, and tend to stick to their favourites on podcasting platforms. ALSO - this is a new feature I just got on my Android, the RUclips app now keeps a floating window open while you open other apps. So I can be listening to your podcast on RUclips and browsing IG/Twitter at the same time. It's definitely increased the amount of time I spend on RUclips lol!
Ooh interesting point about being more open to new things on RUclips! Totally agree. That feature rolled out on iPhones too, I love it! Agree that it makes me spend more time on the app 😊
thankyou for cutting to the chase and just telling us great info, all of these other videos lace it up with ads and self promos. this is why you see success ! thank you!
I have been searching for quite long time, no one actually explained clearly and covered all the things. I got stuck with how audio goes into video. And your video and audio quality is much better than big tech channels
Just get started! Love the tech tips but just the background/research on the benefits. I used to love audio only podcasts pre-pandemic, but now I like video podcasts much more. Just a habit change for me but even my grandma watches video podcasts on youtube. That's how she found them. Great video as always!
Thank you so much for these videos, been so nervous about starting a podcast with one of my friends, and had no idea where to start. We’ll be doing it virtually to start for a while so if you have any tips or tutorials for that, it would be incredibly helpful!!
This was SO helpful as I'm getting started on my RUclips podcast. I was trying to figure out how the audio and video connected and this is super clear. Thank you! Also followed you on IG - I'm a native Detroiter, too!!
I know I’m late but thank you thank you thank you!!! I was so Orestes because no one would show you step by step what do , they would just what mic to get , and I’m like “HOW DO I SET EVERYTHING UP!!!” Lol so thank you again ❤
Great stuff!!! I’m new with a show and this was great. I know the feeling about being nervous to post the first one . I’ve been recording and posting 30 sec clips and have gotten great responses. Just need to jump in. I use riverside but was thinking now to use diocini resolve like you. Thanks 🙏
I enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing your setup. My sister and I are starting a podcast soon called the Cryptic Hour and it’s focused on anyone wanting to share their own personal creepy experiences. Wish us luck!
Thanks! I used to just do an audio podcast with garage band on my iPad! :) this year launching a video podcast - do you upload the podcast video as a regular video on RUclips? Or is there a podcast category when I upload? Thanks!
This is super helpful, thank you! Just to clarify, do you Mute the camera's internal microphone? I'm concerned about the camera's audio clashing with the microphones audio when I sync the files. Thank you for the great video!
SO glad it was helpful! Nope, I don't mute the camera audio. It's come in handy as a backup a few times when I've had mic issues. There's an option to overwrite the camera audio when you go to sync it, I've never had an issue :)
Thanks so much for your help! I had a question... If I am connecting through Libsyn to distribute my podcast but I want to make sure it has video, do you know how I can do that? The upload for libsyn does not allow for the size of my video even when it is super low bitrate and only an H.264 video. Do you know if there is a way I can add video to my youtube podcast later?
Thank-you so much. I have a question - what do you do when your camera has a time limit of 20 min, and you have to restart the video every 20 min, do you need to stop-start the audio to match? If it's one long audio file and multiple 20 min video files, can you still string it together?
I love watching your content I learned a lot in the last two videos and subbed. Do you ever consult with brand brand new creators just starting out? Like maybe and older lady who isn't terribly familiar with social media? I just want to show you what I have and get some thoughts about how I should best set it up, and your thoughts on the podcast I would like to start. I am afraid of being a major fail, if I could have just had someone look at my set up and say put this her, and get a one of these and go for it. I am sure you have a fee as well right?
Thanks for the explanation. Question: If you use an iPhone for recording, how do you plug a microphone into it? In other words, how do you get better audio quality that what comes from the built-in iPhone mic?
You can record your audio separately through a mixer (I use the RODE Caster PRO II) and then combine audio in Final Cut Pro or a similar editor, or buy a mic specifically for iPhone. My DJi wireless system has an iPhone attachment!
This was by far the simplest breakdown! Thank you! I started my podcast months ago @lotusmebloom here on RUclips as well. I started with recording myself but I didn't love my setup so I now just upload the audio file.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful for me as I look to start my first podcast and I plan on doing it in video form. Very insightful and entertaining to watch!
I actually just set up my office and bought a bunch of equipment lol I have no clue what I am doing. I was Going to write a book however I was like you know what.... No lol .... Ironically I am shyer than people think especially stage fright and in front of groups.. I have never been scared of constructive criticism and definitely not scared of trolling.. I don't know why I'm a nervous wreck I just don't know how to start off what do I start off with as a super beginner... I kind of was going to go into it like a video diary but public on the tube... But I'm not sure...
Your comment is from nearly a year ago, but how is it going for you now? I’m in your shoes (from 10 months ago) and I’m SO nervous to step out and just jump in! I’ll be on major budget so I will have to start with my phone! Hope you’re doing well with your podcast!
Is there a way to make both audio and video at the same time without doing it separately and editing it all in later? I hope my question makes sense lol.
I have been trying to find a way to move to our podcast to video but been having trouble with the lighting looking right. This is a great idea to use the window and add a defuser. bad lighting is so noticeable in videos.
This was super informative, thank you! I still have one question though and would be super grateful to anyone who can answer this: so i upload and synch my audio + video and upload the video to youtube, that part i get. But, how to i get just the audio part to upload onto the other platforms like spotify? I am usually just recording and editing on garageband but how do i get just an .mp3 file if im using something like imovie to edit the video/audio file? or do i also have to separately edit the audio file in a program like garageband in order to get quality audio to upload, like edit it twice? im so confused lol and help would be very much appreciated!
There should be an option in your video to export as audio only! In Final Cut Pro, I click 'Export Movie' and then adjust the settings to only export mp4. You can also upload full video files to Spotify for Podcasters now (I think!)
Thanks for this. Just wanted to ask. How can scale this for 3 or 4 people on a YT podcast? How do we get the camera(s) and audio working at the same time?
I did this in a video with my friend (you can search ‘Latasha James Ryan Redoute’ for an example) and I basically just did the same process but with an additional camera. Then sync each video file with the audio file, layer on top of each other and edit
Thank you! Not specifically on podcasting, but I do have a video course that’s linked in the description. I might be working on something for podcasters in the next few months though 😏
After endlessly searching for clear and concise instructions on how to combine video and audio YOU provided sooo much clarity 🎯
So glad this was helpful!!

Finally, I got here. I've been searching for all these days 😀. I love your studio, it looks very beautiful.
Of all the videos on RUclips, yours has been the most informative. Thank you.

I love this. do you have remote guests? if so, how do you capture their video and audio.

You answered my question on mixing the audio and video 🥺💚💚💚 Thank you
You’re amazing and this was the perfect tutorial. Thank you

Hi, love the review! Do you have a cheaper mixer you can recommend? I want to start a podcast with 2 people at a time.
Any recommendations on a video editing software for pc?
What type of camera do you use

Hey! What did you do about the recording limit of the 80D?
Thank you so much! I’m starting mine soon and the link between audio and video has been a nightmare to try and learn
Thank you, this was really helpful and well done!

thank you for the shoutout Latasha!! great tips in this video 🥰
(i also highly recommend the Video Lab course!)
Of course! And thank you! 😊🙌🏽
Hi Latasha. Is it the Canon EOS 90D you meant to say and is that what you're using here?
@@anndiestephen7671 this is the canon 80d! I probably linked the 90d because it’s a newer model but pretty much identical
@thelatashajames oh I see. The quality is really good and your channel has been super valuable. Thanks a lot.
Hi Latasha. How do you hear yourself when you’re record using your Mic?
Thank you for this video! What’s the stand you use for your microphone?
Thanks for watching! 😊 I linked it in the description box of this video!
How do you work around the 29.59 time recording limit?

Such a helpful video!
Excellent information
Is there a reason you can’t just plug a mic into a camera?
Add some subtle music in the beginning and you’ll be on the way to 1 mil in no time. I think shorter is better too but it’s all speculative.
Spotify Audio Gurbani podcast . Can I covert video ?

Great video. Why not take the output of the mixer and run it into the input of your camera? Just get a attenuator cord
Ooh interesting question… for some reason I remember that not working before but will have to look into it again!
hi i just looked up final cut pro to get it and its $300 haha thats a lot for me. Is their anything thats like cheaper or free yk i could use??
