Hi sumo im painting stucko on the outside of my house 🇮🇪ive painted the outside kitchen part with a brush and roller had to keep going back with a little brush to fill in the little gaps the big Brush @roller couldn't get into bit got the kitchen outside done now ive to do the upper part of house 🏡 should i buy a paint sprayer and any tips i would really appreciate, trying to do good job for my mother, save her the 1000 pound shebwz quoted, ive other paintjobs to do for her, any advice appreciated, God bless
I think a sprayer would save you a lot of time but I don’t know what a stucko is, as a rule of thumb I normally paint everything indoors with paint brush ( cut in ) & then good quality roller, a spray gun inside can be messy but for outside work where you can cover windows up I would definitely try a spray gun & don’t do it on a windy day. Most spraining I do is normally smaller parts or outdoor furniture but remember to put tarps & cardboard up & around. Hope that helps a little 👍👍👍
Stuck or pebble dash its the outside on outside of house finished outside of house would now to do inside thanks for your videos found them helpful, have you ever heard of peaple painting there patio stones in back garden seen it done loooks very nice, any tips on paint i should use ta from the emerald isle 🇮🇪 god bless
Nice review. I have been using these for a couple of years now, have 3, one for oil based, one for water based, and a spare. The beauty of these are that they have a brass pin and nozzle, not plastic, but if you have been spraying for 2-3 mins, check the nozzle, it will need a wipe off, and probably every 15 mins clean the airways. Bunnings sells a small mixer that fits into the bowl, has 3 red blades, use with a drill, and I thin water based paints with warm water and stir in the paint bowl, then screw back on. There are no real adjustments, only how far you can pull the needle which controls how quick the paint comes out. Practice on scrap, or cardboard until you are happy with result, which may include further thinning... When you are finished, you can dismantle the spraying section and remove the needle and clean it completely, clean the airways in spray head, and the nozzle, it will spray like a new machine next time you use it.

Hi Sumo. First up, "Go Melbourne Storms", kicked the tigers behind -- 5 tries in 15 minutes. Nice video! I got my Ozito spray paint in Bunnings as well 2 years ago when I asked my dad to paint my fence. After a few tries, he gave up and used a brush instead (while I was away working in an office). He said it is not even and splatters a lot. 2 year on, I tried to use it to spray a part of our wooden gate, I can see why he gave up. My problem in my paint spray is it has "chunks" of paint (not the fine mist that you have). I diluted the paint more, 75ml water to 500ml paint. But it still has chunks. I grab a skewer stick and place some stick tape at the end (to serve as propellers) and used it for mixing the paint with my drill. But it only did a little help. Can you give me tips to have it spray finer. Do I need to clean it thoroughly? Do I need to screen the paint to eliminate lumps? HELP.
That gun looks quite compact, I bought a similar type of gun from Aldi a couple of years ago nowhere near as compact but the same idea, found it fantastic for spraying shellac but I struggled with paint. I have been exploring using a sprayer again recently when a friend gave me an old gun of his and have been getting better results, I think it has to do with the quality of paint and the thinning down to the right consistency more than the gun itself. It's a great review and shows you do not need to spend a fortune to start spraying and get good results. 👍👍👍
G’day Graham, I was spending quite a bit of money at Bunnings on Spray paint cans & thought why not try a proper set up, yes it cocos initially to purchase the paint but the mileage is so much better & the thing is to practice like we do on most things we try out. This gun was recommended by the staff at Bunnings & the price is really fair for achieving a result of finishing so much faster although smaller projects the pressure pack cans will suffice. Just go on the formula of 10 percent mix down on thicker paint or finish & you’ll be yodelling the hills are alive lol, let me know how it goes down the track mate 🍻👍👍👍👍🇦🇺
Terrible for staining a fence lol have this model OMG the over spray is shocking so goes through the stain fast! Just brought a Certa airless paint sprayer from Dick Smiths that can use directly from the 10 liter can and replaced the tip with a Wagner HEA tip for a claimed 55% less over spray. So no more messy refills! I know I am being stupid to compare this to a gun airless paint sprayer, but this is strictly useful for very small jobs as the over spray and small pot size is a pain.
Fair call Greg, I notice the overspray mate & all things being equal this was a cheap pickup that was recommended for that reason so we need to work within the parameters of cost effective- performance mate. I have issues with the pressure pack wood finishes that at $10 a can clog up if you don’t respect them lol, but a bit of playing about & control this sprayer isn’t to bad, Wagner cost way over $100 & not in my budget, appreciate your feedback 🍻🍻🇦🇺👍👍👍
I had a NIGHTMARE with this gun using enamel paint...the 10% dilution with paint thinner did not empty the cup within 30 seconds, so i had to add more. This caused the paint to crack on the garage door. Honestly...for small jobs such as tables and chairs use paint cans, any time you lose with cans you make up due to the prep and cleanup time.
Fair enough, it works for me & I agree for small jobs pressure pack paints are more economical but if you do a lot of spraying with the same finish this is your best option
I must have done something wrong, I tried thinning down some water based exterior paint in this unit but still found it quite thick and it "spat" the paint out onto the wall rather than spraying it in a nice fashion, so I found it very slow to use. Pretty sure I was way more than 10% dilution too. Still, it saved me getting RSI from using a brush to get into all those deep mortar lines. My tip is to use hearing protection. @@sumosprojects Hey Sumo. The scenario of buying a Sprayer is quite confusing. I have been stuck on Wagner but they seem to have very bad reviews. May buy the Ozito to start off.

Hey Sumo mate I painted my 9mtr x 4.2 mtr Shed today with my Ozito Spray Gun. Brother it was absolutely fuck'n FANTASTIC Bro. Best $41 i ever spent. Its a keeper now. Only trouble is now my Son wants me to paint his Colour Bond Fence. I told the miserable little fucker to go buy him one cause theres no way hes borrowing mine. Thats like giving Strawberrys to a PIG
G’day Bill, for the price it’s a fantastic gun & never mind the overspray lol, I was in a rush to film this before it got dark 🧐🤠🤠🤠🤠ps just grabbed your prize to bring over 👍👍👍👍👍
That's a bargain price. The Wagner I reviewed was nearly 3x the cost and I'm sure while it may have a bit better life and a few extra features it won't do 3x as good a job. They do tend to chew through thin oils if you are not careful, but as you said, compared to spray cans which cost a fortune still a good tool to have. I've found if you are careful there is not too much more clean up than brushes, but the prep can take a lot longer. I liked the outside use, much easier that way!
Took me a while to understand that the pressure pack paints become costly so after some staff consultation with the local Bunnings crew a fella told me they are pretty good & to be honest the Ozito tools aren’t that terrible mate so that’s something, I’d love a Wagner however not gonna pay that much to apply something to wood as I’m a hobbyist lol, cheers James 🎥🎥🔨🔨👍👍
I’ve found it best with heavier applications as it’s not overly easy to adjust like a Wagner gun however for the cost of the Ozito it’s worth trying it out 👍
Filtering out contaminents especially when switching between oil / water base paints is your biggest problem. Mixing these two results in more 'hardened debree' caught in nozzles. Thorough cleaning is everthing or have an extra bottle. I use women's stocking to filter paint (every pour). Tell Mrs/ girlfriend not to throw out stockings lol!
Great piece of equipment Dirk, may have to get one of these to spray "Stay in Europe!" on the side of a truck and park it outside the Houses of Parliament! Really well presented review and what a ripper idea to use it with finishing oil as well as the paint. Thinking out of the box! Thanks for the upload to enjoy on the Bank Holiday weekend 👍🔨😃
Hello Eryk, I hear about your political dilemma most days & im with you but I’m only an outsider looking in. I hope the bank holiday was a good un mate. @@sumosprojects One thing I did on the holiday was to try to repair a pyrography kit I was given - keeps fuse blowing - a lot of woodworkers are using pyro as part of their creations these days. I believe some people are using metal stencils. If you made a stencil of your new avatar you could put your mark on the wonderful things you make! I also tried my hand at a leather punch made out of wood [not for using on leather!] and it worked. Pays to experiment! Enjoyed the use of the word digger - applies to me when I find myself in conversation digging a hole I can't climb out of! Cheers Cobber! 😃👍👍👍uk
Hi Sumo, Thanks for the video. I used this to spray paint our internal doors and had a few issues. Its got a very narrow spray so has left alot of patches on the doors and also there is plenty of extra overspray. I was painting leaving the doors with the hinges on though. Did you face any such issues? Or maybe its not ideal for the doors?
I encountered overspray as well unfortunately & I think that the mix & flow of using the sprayer is difficult to get 100% right however saying this I’ve see Wagner sprayers also take some getting use to. Perseverance Ankit
G’day Rob, you know I was apprehensive of using a spray gun but then I thought bugger it just buy one & give it a bash, crickey what can go wrong, learning by doing approach is the key 🍻🍻👍👍👍
Hey mate I think yes but not on a windy day & take care on the roof but if you can spray one thing with it there’s no reason you cannot spray most with it, good luck 👍👍👍

Happy to hear that Judy, I tried to make the review as honest as I could in doing the demonstration, so happy to know you have gotten good use from it 🇦🇺🍻👍
G’day Amy, yes water is used on water based paint & thinner on oil base, bit of trial & error to get the mix 100% right so try your spray out on some scrap materials 👍
Wagner bragger Lol, yes they are top class but I’m still crawling in the world of spraying & if I learn to work I’ll come over & grab your Wagner 😁🤠👍👍👍👍👍
Hey mate, thanks for the video. I recently purchased a wagner sprayer to spray my internal doors but found it left little splatter dots of paint everywhere, i tried and tried with different settings. I finally got it to spray ok when up really close but then had run marks. Is the ozito the same? Im trying to get a silky smooth finish on my doors.
@@jordy083 G’day Jordan, I would of thought the Wagner would be way better as the Ozito does well but not the best for silky smooth. Maybe have another play around with the Wagner or take it back & ask them why it’s not doing as it’s supposed to do.
This one is suitable for thin paint, but not enough powerful for thick paint. If you want to use acrylic paint for wall, it may become a nightmare even if you mix with water as thinner.
It`s a really nice video! Tomorrow I`m going to start painting our new doors and trim with exactly this sprayer. Just one question- on your video you didn`t filter the paint. Is this acceptable for water based paints, please? I have purchased British Paint (water based) at Bunnings and still can`t realize about filtering. Should or shouldn`t ... And if we have to filter it- when it must be performed- after or before it`s mixed with water. Thank you
G’day mate & thank you for the comment Alexander, well I’ve not filtered the water based paint but rather so added the water first & stirred the paint before adding it to the required ratio. I’ve not had an issue doing it this way & you’ll need to trial & error getting the nozzle setting & distance from what you’re spraying right but this doesn’t take to long & you’ll have the control correct. Let me know how you get on & have fun doing it 🍻🍻👍👍🇦🇺
G’day mate, apologise for late reply but I reckon it would do the job for many applications, at the price it sells for it’ll do most of your jobs & thank you for subscribing 🇦🇺🍻👍

@@sumosprojects I visited bunnings tonight, asking about the ozito top loader spray gun, ASG-GFK, is a 3 piece set costing $79, data on this spray gun says, This kit is ideal for automotive applications like repainting car panels or motor bikes. The gravity feed design has a more efficient paint consumption rate and reduces occurrences of paint splutter when the paint runs low, giving a great finish. So will seek more info concerning this spray gun.........
It’s actually a bit of a let down, I tried everything. I have tried watering the paint down bit by bit. It spatters they paint out. I have stirred the paint. I think you get a much better finish using a brush. The best way is to use this and then go over the piece with a brush. I used Walpamur fence paint onto a timber fence.
Nah just let it rip Rob, bigger stars thing is keeping everything clean & it’s sometimes quick action to do that, preferably a couple of containers would be good for different finishes 👍👍👍
@@sumosprojects It's a rough texture paint job that has to be mixed with the hardener and can easily spray 1 to 3 coats for their ute tub liner but it can also be respray on the whole car which it looks pretty sick in my opinion.

Love the video mate. Thanks very much.
Good to hear mate & thank you kindly for watching 🇦🇺🤠🍺👍
Honest to god, showing it works with oil, has saved me rolling a timber boat shed for 4 weeks. Thanks Sumo you mad dog. GO COWBOYS
Good to hear mate, yeah go Bulls 🤞🤞🙏😁👍👍👍
That's a good little gun, more than enough for the home shop and up coming reno's. 👌
Good job mate. 👍
G’day Bill, for the price it’s a fantastic gun & never mind the overspray lol, I was in a rush to film this before it got dark 🧐🤠🤠🤠🤠ps just grabbed your prize to bring over 👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Jay, I shall mention it in my next Shop Update buddy which should hopefully be in June so stay tuned 👍👍👍 Sumo
Easy clean , chuck in bin.
Im late to the party but cheers mate glad i discovered your channel by the way
Cheers mate, thank you for jumping onboard 👍👍👍
Looks pretty good Sumo. Convinced me mate. Thanks for the tips. Cheers.👍
Cheers mate & no worries 🇦🇺🍻👍
I know this is an old video but thanks for the upload. Very happy to finally go try out my new sprayer I’ve had for nearly 6 mo the 🤦🏼♂️
Good to hear mate 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Neat explaination matey on electric Ozito spray gun..KooL man.. Thanks.. 👍
No sweat, hope that it’s something that works out for you mate 🇦🇺🍻👍
Might buy this tomorrow to paint my roof
Hey Sumo, any advice on using one of these for a thin painting on exterior brick walls? Thanks for the video btw.
I’ve found it best with heavier applications as it’s not overly easy to adjust like a Wagner gun however for the cost of the Ozito it’s worth trying it out 👍
@@sumosprojects Thanks for the advice! I will look into Wagner's now as well.
Must admit the year is passing on oh so swiftly & it’s always an interesting journey in this life we live, I hope that everyday is kind to you Eryk & that you achieve what you set out to do in it, cheers Digger 👍👍👍🇦🇺
😃👍👍👍uk
How about painting chair with chalk paint please?
Thanks for that info
Can i paint a whole new interior with this spray gun and how long would it take roughly?
Hi Sumo, Thanks for the video. I used this to spray paint our internal doors and had a few issues. Its got a very narrow spray so has left alot of patches on the doors and also there is plenty of extra overspray. I was painting leaving the doors with the hinges on though. Did you face any such issues? Or maybe its not ideal for the doors?
I encountered overspray as well unfortunately & I think that the mix & flow of using the sprayer is difficult to get 100% right however saying this I’ve see Wagner sprayers also take some getting use to.
Perseverance Ankit
Looks like a decent tool mate - will consider getting one of them I reckon. Excellent review !
G’day Rob, you know I was apprehensive of using a spray gun but then I thought bugger it just buy one & give it a bash, crickey what can go wrong, learning by doing approach is the key 🍻🍻👍👍👍
@@sumosprojects I reckon hear hear!
Hi sumo
Thank you for review
M just wondering if I can use this awesome tool to paint my roof tiles?
What's your thought on roof tiles?
Hey mate I think yes but not on a windy day & take care on the roof but if you can spray one thing with it there’s no reason you cannot spray most with it, good luck 👍👍👍
@@sumosprojects thank you mate.. Let's see how I go and would like to put here if it goes well and let other people help on DIY PROJECTS.
thank you so much sir
Nice review Dirk. I just wish you would stop tempting me with toys like this :-)
Tis a good investment Stephen, temptation lures even the strongest at heart 😮😁😁😁😁
Guess what, I just had to get the spray gun and have already used it twice, I love it and I'm sure I will find a lot more things to spray outside, I have some large garden statues looking a bit drab
Happy to hear that Judy, I tried to make the review as honest as I could in doing the demonstration, so happy to know you have gotten good use from it 🇦🇺🍻👍
Awesome Dirk, any time your ready mate, you can start paining my house .....LOL
Cheers Tony, I’ll be over sooooooon to paint 😳🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐 yep soon 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🤠👍
Hey mate. Wonderful video! Does water vs thinner depend on the paint base you have? Like oil based requires thinner water base uses water?
G’day Amy, yes water is used on water based paint & thinner on oil base, bit of trial & error to get the mix 100% right so try your spray out on some scrap materials 👍
Had a go at it today.
Definitely worth the small price tag 👌
Good to hear your feedback & at the price it should do most jobs 👍
Excellent...
🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for the review - I saw this in bunnings. I will definitely buy it in few weeks once I finished sanding the plasterboard in my shed - cheers✌🍻
G’day Ron, I’m always happy to get feedback mate & I hope that it’ll do a good job, cheers 🍻👍Sumo
looks like Im going to add to my Ozito collection and buy one of these
Good to hear Judy, Ozito make pretty good tools & I hope that you get good usage from it 🇦🇺🍻👍
Seems like a good gun. I have a wagner i never use 😒
Wagner bragger Lol, yes they are top class but I’m still crawling in the world of spraying & if I learn to work I’ll come over & grab your Wagner 😁🤠👍👍👍👍👍
@@sumosprojects lol, didn't know wagner is that exensive :D. i did all my walls, and i found the paint was even much more expensive hehe
Thanks mate
No sweat mate 👍👍👍
@sumosprojects yeah ive taken it back today.
well done!
Thanks for the review mate, will it do for epoxy based paints or just water and oil based? Thanks again
Cheers Jean, not sure on epoxy based paints mate but best you ask Bunnings or contact Ozito directly 🍻🍻👍👍👍
Thanks nonetheless mate, enjoy watching your projects and reviews
That’s very much appreciated 🍻🍻👍👍👍👍
This one is suitable for thin paint, but not enough powerful for thick paint. If you want to use acrylic paint for wall, it may become a nightmare even if you mix with water as thinner.
I bought my today. I find it is bit heavy after holding a while. 😭overall for just quick painting fence I think is a good price.
It’s a great price for many jobs mate, glad you’ll be putting straight into use 🍻👍👍👍
Let me know how you get on & have fun doing it 🍻🍻👍👍🇦🇺
Hi subscribed have just come across you sight. Loved it. With the Ozito spray do you think it would do a small house or small shed. Thanks
G’day mate, apologise for late reply but I reckon it would do the job for many applications, at the price it sells for it’ll do most of your jobs & thank you for subscribing 🇦🇺🍻👍
legend mate, thank you!!
No sweat Matt 🍻👍👍👍
Great video dirk I have a cheap sprayer and they work great and save so much time
You are so right mate, I was always apprehensive of using a sprayer but now I’m hooked, will still use rags for food grade finishes but this is a game changer 🍻👍👍👍 Sumo
Thanks for this useful video
No worries, glad you got something out of it 👍👍👍
Could I use something like this to paint our backyard fence? Or would I need something more heavy duty? Great review btw!
Absolutely you can Tony, even paint interior walls mate & 40 times faster mate, give it a go as I did & you’ll love it 👍👍👍
@@sumosprojects you're content and engagement with your followers is great. Thank you!
Cheers Tony & likewise mate because without great followers I would never have a channel & I love helping in anyway I can mate because many people have been super helpful to me, let me know how the fence job goes Tony 👍👍👍
Thank you for this review Dirk 😊 I've been looking at the same one here locally on offer for 20 Euros. I'm off to buy one of the last 2 left 😊 ॐ
Good stuff mate, I hope that it does all you require it to & I’m happy with mine. I’ve been cutting camphor laurel today & it’s definitely helped my sinuses out lol, carry on mate 🍻🍻👍👍👍👍
Looks like it would make finishing a lot easier. Thanks for the review
No sweat mate, you know it’s one of those things in life that you’d wished you’d purchased earlier, a lot of what we do is related to best time management practices given we work so I’m really happy with it, cheers Dave 👍👍👍👍
Hi Sumo, what's your views on using car paint and spray paint a small barina hatch ?? would it have the power to do so ???
Oh that’s a good question Peter, I would perhaps opt for a better quality sprayer like a Wagner to tackle that because it has better spray adjustment
@@Peter170254 Hoping for best results for you Peter 👍
Good vid Sumo
Cheers for that Gary, appreciated mate 🔨🔨👍👍👍🍺🍺
Glad it worked out for you Dirk
Worked out great mate, it’s an easier way to finish a project up 👍👍👍
Thank you
You’re welcome 👍
Thanks Sumo!
No sweat mate 👍👍👍
im getting one of these - great review. Ill buy a mask too.
Cheers Tom, I hope it serves you well mate 🍻👍👍👍 Sumo
It’s actually a bit of a let down, I tried everything. I have tried watering the paint down bit by bit. It spatters they paint out. I have stirred the paint. I think you get a much better finish using a brush. The best way is to use this and then go over the piece with a brush. I used Walpamur fence paint onto a timber fence.
Don’t know Paul, it’s trial & error mate & if you look up at the expensive models your up for hundreds, make sure you mix everything really well
Can I use it to paint gyprock using water base paint ?
I don’t know mate, try it out as I’ve not done it yet 👍
Good review
Thank you Anthony, always happy to hear that 👍👍👍
Hi Sumo, thanks for the review! I'm thinking of one of these as an alternative to a compressor/air gun, how do you think it would stack up?
No sweat mate, was half the reason that I bought it & so far so good especially at the price 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍
How would you say airless guns go with contact adhesives that have a higher viscosity?
Not sure as I’ve never sprayed contact adhesives, only timber finish but no harm in trying I suppose 🔨🔨👍👍👍
good video got all the info i need thanks
Glad to hear 👍👍👍🍺
Thanks for the review Dirk. What was the finish like compared to a spray can?
Fine tuning it still Dave but it’ll catapult spray cans & keep the cost right down mate 🍻👍👍👍
Great vid. I’ve considered these devices in the past but was afraid I’d clog it the first time. I should give it another though. Thanks man ✌️
Nah just let it rip Rob, bigger stars thing is keeping everything clean & it’s sometimes quick action to do that, preferably a couple of containers would be good for different finishes 👍👍👍
G’day mate. I saw you used water. I have never seen someone thin out paint with water. What is the difference between turpentine?
Water based paint mate, turps is for oil based 👍
@@sumosprojects thank you so much for replying.
@@edwardjames2497 No worries Edward 👍
Hi can you also do a raptor liner paint job on these?
Not sure what raptor means mate ?
@@sumosprojects It's a rough texture paint job that has to be mixed with the hardener and can easily spray 1 to 3 coats for their ute tub liner but it can also be respray on the whole car which it looks pretty sick in my opinion.
GrozOutTV Thanks for that information mate, I have learned something new myself 👍👍👍
Can it be used to apply acrylic paint on concrete tile roof ?
I’m not sure, I suppose it depends on the mix of the paint depending on if it’s water based or oil based, best to ask a paint specialist 👍👍👍
