I love Akaso! I have the Akaso EK7000 (I think) and I bought it for maybe like $60 or something ridiculous. Pretty decent for it is. I don't have it with me right now but I used it for some of my motorbike trip in Indonesia and was impressed, and that was before I had any clue about filming. Just the audio on the old one sucks but I can just use it for b-roll. Everyone raves about go-pro but akaso is a pretty decent alternative!

Can I mount this on a dash mount, and can it be powered from an external battery power pack? If any of the housings block the USB port, does the naked cam have a bottom mount screw?

I have the Akaso 6 (not the Plus) and it's a fine little camera for daytime purposes, but now we are coming into Autumn and Winter I fear that it won't be up to the job in low light levels. Driving down a tree lined road blotted out most of the light and it wasn't until the trees ended that it was possible to make out anything. Not sure if this is a general problem with action cameras. Otherwise I am happy with the camera and the accessories packs are incredible - plus they fit most GoPro cameras too!

One drawback personally for me is that the charging USB cable does NOT appear to be the means to download the footage to my PC. Seems a negative that I have to take the micro SD card out and use a micro SD USB reader.

Definitely gonna try that licking thing. I use my brave 7LE as my helmet cam and water droplets makes the footage unusable when it is raining.
