    Im pretty sure I see this FJ in Rexburg Idaho all the time. Parked next to it at Walmart the other day. Wanted to talk to the owner to see what was done to it, well now I know!

    Nice! Noticed a die grinder had to be used on the rear housing. To make the opening bigger I assume. Had to do the same with my 98 T4R. Guess it’s pretty common with a bigger ring gear.

      @Nitro Gear - is there a particular reason you guys chose 4.88 and not 5.29 ? Just curious

    I wanna re-gear to 4.88 also and have front Arb diff lockers, but I have no idea on exactly what I need to run nitro gears since I have a 07 6spd Fj and oem runs 3.90 gears compared to 3.72 in the auto trans. And every shop I talked to has no idea what I’m talking about probably cause there Jeep guys & don’t care for my Toyota. And I’ve heard for a 6spd trans Fj. I’d need to run either Arb- rd-121/rd-111 or an oem 3.73 diff. In order for me to re-gear. My question is would I need to get diff carriers for the front and rear to make it work or would I just need a new front diff to run nitro gears? If anyone could help out with info it be much appreciated.
    Thanks...

    12 fj manual on 33's. What ratio would you recommend?

      Mine was perfect stock running 33's, still does pretty good on the 35's TBH

    Awesome! Unrelated to the gears, but can you tell me how they got the 35s under there? Body mount chop? How much of a lift?

    • @NitroGear
      @NitroGear  5 лет назад +1

      Not 100% sure, we only had it in for the axle components. There is great info on Facebook groups and forums! I am sure other FJ owners would love to advise

      I made mine fit with very minimal lift. The 6"suspect out to much fender space with the 35's for my likeing

    Are you able to do 5.29 on the earlier 2007 Fj with a ARB and 8” rear? Or is 4.88 the lowest? Thanks!

    • @NitroGear
      @NitroGear  3 года назад

      4.88 is as low as we go :)

      @@NitroGear have you seen many failures with the 4.88 and heavy Fjs with 35s?

    • @NitroGear
      @NitroGear  3 года назад +1

      Failures on fj cruisers 07-09 are somewhat common, regardless of ratio, because the 8" diffs are so small.
