- Here's a demo song entitled "I'm A Fighter" written by one of the best songwriters of our beloved AOR / Melodic Rock genre ! It was written by Janet Morrison Minto in collaboration with Pamela Moore Barlow (BARLOW/MINTO) and recorded in 1986. I think Scott Frankfort did the basic tracks, I'm not 100% sure about that but the basics are recorded at his studio. And i'm not sure if Janet's husband Chris Minto is involved in this song but I assume so. You can hear the awesome voice from Mark Free on this song - he was one of the best session singers in L.A. at the time ! Scott Frankfort had called a friend of his, Basil Fung to do guitars - it was where Janet and Pam first met him actually. They loved Basil, he was so great to work with. Janet and Pam went on to write many more songs with him.
Janet Morrison Minto is best known for her collaboration with Pamela Moore Barlow in the '80s under the name BARLOW / MINTO. They have written awesome songs for various AOR / Melodic Rock bands, some of which can be found on the ALIEN album from 1988. A real classic ! Together with top singer Gene Miller they released the fantastic album FAKE I.D. - Dreaming Ezekiel in 1997 on the MTM label. You can also find this song "I'm A Fighter" on that album with the fantastic voice of Gene Miller.
It is an honor for me to release this song for Janet Morrison Minton. The songs she wrote in collaboration with other artists should really be heard by fans of the genre !

How can i find this albums!!??
It is a demo version, which cannot be found on an album. This can be found in another version on the album FAKE I.D. - Dreaming Ezekiel (MTM music, 1997) with Gene Miller on vocals.
So, is this from the 80s or 1997?
This demo version will be from the late 80's or early 90's. But I will check with Janet.

@@aorheartedwin Odd that this was indicated to have been recorded in '86, but didn't come out until 1997 on the "Fake I.D." album. Why the long wait until release? Can this be considered a "Mark Free" song since he is the lead singer or a "Fake I.D." song? Though Gene Miller is credit for the lead vocals on that album.
