Price isn't high at all for a handmade product.
It's hand made & finished & will last decades unlike other cheap crackers. Our original model cracker was near 15 years old when I sold it to a collector & still had another 5 + years in the rubber. 😉

That's part of the IP. 😉
I can say that it's not glued & I've had our original cracker for 10+ years with no issues before it went to it's new home.
