  • Dead battery woes, accessories staying on after the car is off? Here's how to prevent a dead battery with an accessory kill switch.
When I installed a boost controller on my twin turbo Mustang Mach 1 I thought it was as easy as finding a 12V switched source. Unfortunately, new cars aren't as simple as those old muscle cars and trucks we love. Often times when the car is turned off power remains on for some time. This can be especially problematic if your switched accessory is a boost controller or another add on which continues to pull power when you want it to be OFF.
After having my battery go dead and listening to the sound of my boost controller solenoid clicking I decided to take action.
For less then $10 and a trip to Home Depot I picked up a toggle switch and got to wiring. In this video we pull apart the center console on my 2021 S550 Mustang Mach 1 and I show you how to wire a 3 wire toggle switch!

I need to get one installed for anti theft measures. I don’t see anyone stealing my car in my area, but when I go into the deeper parts of my cities, it would just be a nice addition

@@EAJ97 its a really good idea. Ive had friends recently, multiple actually, have their cars stolen. An apple air tag is another great idea for tracking. Thanks for watching!
