You don't need surgery? That's very very subjective, as some people may need a particular surgery to live like removing a tumor. I do agree with the rest of the part, there will never be enough as they will always be something you want to get. Wellness is being content with who you are where you are now right now. Living for retirement, depending on what country you live in most social nets are designed to stop assisting anyone that actually has a documented retirement plan. Brace yourself this is about to get boring, in Canada OAS and CPP (basically socialized retirement plans) are designed to pay you less (or nothing) if you have RRSP or pension (self-funded retirement plan). Unless you have an unusually large RRSP/pension, the system is designed to more or less equalize you with a person that does not. Also if you retire at 67 you are only going to get around 12 years of retirement, chances are most of those are going to be in pretty poor health. Don't spend your 60s squeezing the last ounces of work out of yourself in the hope of "enjoying your retirement" statistically it's not going to go down like that. If you are doing the freedom 55 thing or some other hyper-aggressive retirement saving, that's different but be sure you can ACTUALLY retire at the age you planned. And guard your health like it's the only thing on earth...because it is. *Watched my grandfather die less than 3 years after he started collecting the golden pension that he worked himself to death earning.

You sound like you're in a dark place, friend. It may be true that some people of authority are generally apathetic to the suffering of others, as positions of social power tend to attract crooks and bad-faith actors, but it's simply not true of most of us. Your average stranger is usually empathetic enough to extend, or at least reciprocate, an act of kindness. They're just like you, with their own problems and concerns. But like you, they would help someone in need to the best of their ability without the inclination to ask anything in return or the urge to exploit. At least, I assume that's like YOU. If not, then maybe you should break your gaze into the abyss; so to speak. I was like you once.

College is the original pyramid scheme and people are still falling for it. It may have been the way to do things in the 1970s and early 1980s. But, today it is financial suicide. It is time to end the outdated advice that college is the way to a bright future. It is only the way to bankruptcy. If one is going to be a medical doctor or a lawyer, then college is still the way. Almost everything else is a waste of money and time. Get to work and forget the antiquated advice that was good for your grandparents. If you want better antiquated advice than college, invest in railroad bonds and war bonds.
Yup my mom specifically told me to apply for grants when it came time to hit college. My sister didn't and she's still paying that shit off and it's been eight years.
Thinking that it’s possible to separate politics from literally almost anything you or other people do. Almost everything is political in one way or another or affected by politics until you get down to very basic natural human behavior like breathing and drinking water. Always has, always will be. Things aren’t suddenly more political in the modern era either. We just got more and faster ways to talk about politics with people from far away who are likely to have different views from yourself and your community. You as a human are inherently a political entity, and you won’t escape politics until you either die or find a way to live in complete isolation from all other humans.
What we refer to as "politics" is usually the drastic/extreme opinions that keeps being "shouted from the rooftops" in social media or internet circles. Alot of us don't like out of touch westerners speaking for/over us and (sometimes forcibly) introducing concepts that just don't work with the cultures we've got.
While that is true, I view it like food. Food is part of life. You can't can't escape needing food. However, it isn't helpful when it gets crammed down your throat.
Even the basics such as water for drinking has been deemed not a human right by politicians some places in the world. Always related to a big corporation that in some way contaminates or hogs the water sources. Even water is political.
Too many young women party away their 20s with an endless sequence of short-term boyfriends, and then by the time they're in their mid-30s they realize they want a husband. But a man in his '30s wants a wife who can bear and raise a couple of kids much more easily. So she might never find the husband she wants, because she should have grabbed one in her 20s.
