Versailles, "erk" ? You're definitely a true Parisian now! 😂 So accustomed to great architecture and palaces that we get picky and jaded, almost bored. Great video!
I think Cooper already figured it out that you are talking to little people inside your phone. His face looking at the screen while you talk is priceless. 🥰👍 Thanks for another lovely video.
THANK YOU Jay Swanson for all of your educational videos I was able to enjoy over and over in preparation for a mother - daughter trip to Paris I took this late June and into July 2023. You do great work and I found your tips 100% valuable to have a safe and comfortable time while in Paris. Keep being YOU!
Lived in Paris for two years a few years ago. Spent my evenings and weekends wandering the arrondissements, eating and drinking. This channel brings back all the memories, and also makes me question why I ever left.
Mad props for the longer-than-arms-length video perspectives! And excellent audio to go with - well done! And don't get me started on the excellent tracks you use - wow! Super job, man.
Pour répondre à ta question, en tant qu'Américain, je ne peux en aucun cas parler français. On est simplement pas capable. Jay, tu es manifestement l'exception.
I went to 17.45 this summer! I also went to Versailles and loved it. My daughter and I went to a “summer evening in the garden event” which culminated with a fireworks show. Very memorable and the gardens on a beautiful summer night with a glass of champagne in hand: swoon ❤. Thanks Jay for your fun videos that I continue to watch even though vacation is over.
I was born and bred there, rue des Martyrs - my parents just moved out very recently. So strange to see it from your point of view. It was never a working class neighbourood but it did get sooo bourgeois it's crazy.
Jay I loved this video. The first time I ever visited Paris when I was a student, we stayed in Pigalle. It was so much fun and like you said a tad seedy. I remember buying phone cards at the Tabac and calling my parents from the booth across from Moulin Rouge. No more booths nowadays. Great place the 9th. 😄
Hi Jay ! I'm from Paris and everything in this video is great ! Pure facts, the 9th is one of the best if not the best night life district in Paris ! Sadly people that comes to visit Paris tend to gather in Châtelet a lot... Please go enjoy the 9th rather than Châtelet guys ! We are also more welcoming and nicer, but thats probably because we are drunk at this point ahah
Stayed at hotel sacha this week and yes Pigalle was smutty 😂 but also a great location with great shops and restaurant. Also perfect for getting to monmarte and le marais ❤️
This was filmed earlier in the summer - It's August in Paris, so lots of establishments will be closed for part or all of August for their annual vacations. We always recommend checking their instagram/websites for updates.
Yes, it's closed from the 1st to 20th of August for their vacations, but the Dumbo in Petites-Ecuries is open all summer. Best place to find / confirm information is on each restaurant's instagram page :)
Several years ago I met a storyteller/writer from the Congo and she told these funny fabulous stories of Bijoux (sp?) The Prostitute Ghost (or Ghost Prostitute); are you familiar with these tales?
Hi Diane! Captions are optional on RUclips, and you can turn them off by hitting CC at the bottom of the video. They aren't built into the video, so you can take them away, and the size of them depends on your personal settings - Hope this helps!

You and Les Frenchies are my ONLY source for Paris insiders knowledge.
They're a great resource!
7:56 I love the Palais Garnier. It’s so cool and classical.

Paris makes the best memories! And will always call you back, even just for visits.
Excellent Jay.Glad you took my feedback on board and made a longer video. Thanks dude
both times I’ve visited Paris, the 9th arrondisiment was my favorite. Great vid as always!
The 9th is my favorite arrondissement ❤ The wework on rue Jules Lefebvre has some of the best views of the city from the rooftop
Keep em coming. I love how you go to different arrondisments, and list the best places to eat and enjoy the view. so much fun. Thank you
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying this series.
OMG i love that you know Antoine!!! I follow les frenchies! 😊
Yes! Les Frenchies are awesome!
Mmmm that charcuterie board- yum! I love that area where KB is and the walk down (I think!) rue des Martyrs. Cheers for a great video Jay! 🙏
My absolute pleasure!
Love it, Jay! Thank you! 🙏🏼
You're so welcome!
I found your channel after watching Les Frenchies!!
They are great!
They are!
Is there a history as to why fries are served with just about everything in Europe?
Mad props for the longer-than-arms-length video perspectives! And excellent audio to go with - well done!

9th is my favorite
Hahaha what a title! Also, not the opening shot being Timothée Chalamet. Message received 😂

I mean, Paris is beautiful no matter what time of the season it is lmao
Don't think I agree with that sentiment, winter in Paris is bad.

Great video Jay
Thanks Jani!

Thank you for this one. I loved it and so want to return to Paris I was there in April can't believe I missed the lovely beer .
Lots of suggestions for next time!
❤❤❤
🍻🍻
Thank you for finally hitting up some french restaurants. I really appreciated it.
More to come!
it's so weird but everywhere looks like london to me, which, as a londoner, i am trying desperately hard to avoid.
Jay « Do you speak French? »
Me « Fluently »

Those guitar shops look fun. 🎸
They are the best! A must visit.

When was this filmed? As dumbo is temporarily closed?

Quote of the Day: “I made a good choice for today.”
Was that a polystyrene burger box? Have they not progressed to card?
Most places are cardboard at this point, but not all yet.
google maps says Dumbo Pigalle is temporarily closed. can anyone confirm?
Yes, it's closed from the 1st to 20th of August for their vacations, but the Dumbo in Petites-Ecuries is open all summer. Best place to find / confirm information is on each restaurant's instagram page :)

I had to turn off captions to watch this video. Thanks, Jay for telling me how to do that. (they were too large before)

Thanks, Jay. I'll try that and I didn't know.
🍺🍺🍺🍀🍀🍀♥️♥️♥️🙋
Where do you live now. Have a new project.
Still in Paris!
11:20 Highlight of the video
Here for the smutt and tawdry.
Smutty burbs are the real burbs, bebe. Gentrification hopefully take longer there. Jadore paris du la proletariat. ❤
An Indian restaurant in the 9th? That’s interesting. I’m rather curious.
Video is too fast Jay. The flash of imagery & you talking piss-pepper fast. I keep having to re-wind throughout.
Burgers and Beer!
