DESTROYED my Corvette C8R in 1/43 scale by TSM.

  • Featured in this video is a 1/43 scale TSM Corvette C8R. I bungled handling this model, and the extremely fragile rear wing broke. Glued it and secured it...or so I thought. Then it fell off again
Treied to rescue it and ended up destroying it. My loss is your gain. You get to see what a TSM model looks like without having to destroy one of your own. I should know better, but I screwed up. Never handle your collectible models. They are not toys, and we are adults....well, maybe not me.

Sorry for your loss. I was dusting the other day and almost dropped my Mad Panda. At that moment, I realized that all of my 1/43s are my favorites.

had that been either of my (2) Mad Panda's, I would have been really pissed. I'm currently looking at another Mad Panda on eBay. Price was too high.

Bad luck Mark😖. It’ll be therapeutic getting a replacement. Interesting to see how the model is made up.

Yes. Really sucked. Mad at myself for stupidity. Good news is that I got a cool insight into the quality and workmanship that goes into the model. The level of details that you would never see is remarkable. Key point: all models are fragile and handle with care

Many thanks to my viewers. One suggested using UV glue to repair the car. I purchased BONDIC. Works great allowed me piece by piece to set each part up without overspill on fingers and the car. It looks almost like it did before.

That sucks, best just to get a replacement, otherwise its going to annoy you for a long time. Have managed to damage one model so far. Spark Porsche 911 GT1 1/43. Small scuff in the paint and knocked of one of the side-view mirrors. I glued the mirror back with UV activated glue and that worked really well. The scuff I decided to live with, hardly noticeable don't want to risk making it worse by rubbing polishing compound on it.

Thanks, for the feedback; Never heard about UV Glue. Looked it up on Amazon and ordered it. See how it works.

@@markzebr6463 Your mileage may vary but worth giving it a try. In my opinion it gives the best of both worlds. It cures in seconds like a superglue but not until you zap it with UV light, so there is time to align things properly.

Thanks, It was an introduction of frustration. I had accidentally damaged a few other models of which were of 1/64 scale and even more fragile. One of the many reasons I don't collect 1/64 scale. Check out my "best and worst packaging" you might enjoy the humor.

Sorry to hear this. I would potentially take if off your hands as I could probably fix it up - it's different for everyone but I personally have no trouble fixing up these small photo etched parts. I think I showed you the pictures of the Spark Falken M6 GT3 that got smashed in the post and I basically got that back to 95%+ condition. Drop me an e-mail if it's possible.

@@markzebr6463 is that 20 dollars? They're about the equivalent of 80 dollars upwards here.

That might even be much lower. I sent some hero cards to Spain for a kid. Cost me 40.00 usd. Coukdnt beleive it. Sent back a 1/18 scale model that I ordered domestically for 30.00usd. I was pissed because the seller offered me a discount on a future order and I knew id never buy anything from him. Shipping is one of the reasons i dont sellanything on eBay

@@markzebr6463 I showed the cards you sent me to various people - my Dad enjoyed them in particular. It was a very nice gesture. In relation to the e-mail I sent recently, it was more to sort out anything that needed to be sorted over this C8R (the pictures were from a previous e-mail, I just didn't change the e-mail subject), I can send another e-mail if that helps.

Good news is that Toronto MotroSports is clearing out old TSM and Spark models and I can get another one for less than 50.00usd. I'm not a huge fan of the C8 Corvette. If it had been a Porsche I'd have been doubly pissed. The thing that I hate most is replacing an old car when there are so many other ones I'm looking at and even more pre-orders. The car that I want the most right now is the Hertz Porsche 963. Problem is that everyone wants 150.00usd or more for it in 1/43 scale. Too much.

@@markzebr6463 yes some models are crazy with speculators..ive paid 200euros the naked Lady 911 gt2 and the mirror fell off because the acrylic case wasnt totally secured by tape anymore (mishandled it)😅
