who would of thought that building a home next to a cliff would be a bad idea? waves slamming into cliff, rain, wind... earth quakes... you get what you paid for... hope insurance covers it.

I know right... you'd think they'd 1. build the house a little bit further back and just have a huge patio or something there if wanted for an extra 20-30M and 2. Have engineers stabilise the cliff face during the homes construction... maybe even some rods, Mesh fencing and then and spraycrete all down the side to the base 3. Just dont build on a cliff subsceptible to erosion

I don't think the insurance will because they will fight it with the homeowner even though everything was just fine and dandy when the insurance company came out and inspected the house.
