Growing up on a surfboard in Dana Point (before the Harbor-1964) and this video has me outside trying to find lucky stars to thank! I have to commend your video skills, and time spent making this excellent informative piece of work . Sure took me back to some wonderful memories, and of our smallish house up on Chula Vista st, which at the time was one of the best streets.. and dare I say expensive @ $25,000! On one hand it seems like only yesterday, then I look over at the other hand and wince ~ lol ✍)))

I would have loved to see the Dana Point Break before the harbor was built. I’ve heard the waves were top tier.

The Pilgrim sank during the Covid lockdown because the bilge pump failed & they couldn’t get it out of the water at the little ship repair place in the harbor because there was no room & everyone was on lockdown. They couldn’t manually bilge out that much water & couldn’t get any supplies that may have helped them because of the lockdown. I watched it sink! Very sad day 😢

Thank you for sharing this information. There weren’t a lot of details about it in the media. Its helpful to know the cause but also an unfortunate and sad story to hear.
