Have never had in Playstation. My current Xbox (One S) and is likely my last as I just use it as a Blu-Ray/DVD player. Sadly, my Xbox 360s are just gathering dust at this point. :(. But... I did get a Nintendo Switch this year which I play on a regular basis.
Your on a journey of converting consoles. That's fair. I actually spent a good period of time 2013-2018 not really playing games at all! They really are just something that comes into my life and out of it and right now it's really in! :)

The Eternal Question! Can't say about UK but I can say is to follow Twitter accounts that give alerts when stock drops and turn on your notification bell. We didn't even have that for Ireland stock but there was a Twitch stream setup for us.
