- I just got my Raceface Roam knee pad. After using Ambush knee pad for the last 4 years, I wanted to see what the difference is between the enduro pad and the downhill pad.
This was exactly what I was looking for in a review. Thanks!!
Useful comparison, thanks!
super helpful thank you!
Great video thanks for uploading! I've been wearing Ambush in Large for the last few years and they've always been a little too snug resulting in some leg burn/rub (I have big legs) I tried on the new Roam pads today in XL and I would say they fit exactly the same as the Large Ambush - barely getting the 1st velcro strap on and a little too snug. I'll be trying the XXL in Roam next and hope that they fit looser.
Very helpful!!
Exactly. Thanks
Wow 👍🏻
I've got the Ambush ones. They are really confortable even I pedal uphill with them on. I'm gonna trey the new roam, the look great!
The roam is incredibly comfortable on uphills! even more than the Ambush!
How does the Roam feels?
@@renaudgregoire1009 It's my main knee pad now, but I still use ambush when I go to DH park
Tom Lim ok thank you, but which one do you find more comfortable on your knee? does the Ambush feels too big or a lot bigger on the knee than the Roam?
@@renaudgregoire1009 Roam is much comfortable because the lining is very thinner so when you bend your knee, it doesn't fold up as much. Ambush is thicker so it gets in the way more, but more protective obviously.
다 이해했어요
이제 영어로만 대화 해야겠네
Anyone try this with longer pants such as fox?
Do you have an advice on the sizing?
i just measured my leg and went with the size chart on their website.
How much is it~?? i wanna... 😄
Do the mesh backing on the Roam seem likely to tear on a pedal strike or fall?
They will tear will pedal pin hits it, but it's much tougher than other mesh I've seen on other pads.
@@ridefarm5528 good to know. Admittedly I don't really hit my calves with pedals but you never know.
If I care mostly about enduro and pedaling and some light bike park action, do you think the roam is the way to go?
@@andrewross219 Yes mostly definitely. They are so much better for pedaling than the Ambush
@@ridefarm5528 thanks for the input. I'll add it to my list. Trying to gather an Enduro safety kit for the spring. Still looking at elbows and probably a TLD stage helm.
If you have any input I'm happy to hear it
@@andrewross219 I've been using raceface ambush elbow pads for 4 years. It's thick, heavier than other pads, and a bit less comfortable, but it has never moved on me when I crash. It's not the most comfortable but I keep using it because It protects super well.
what size are you?
I'm using medium
@@ridefarm5528 Was the sizing chart accurate?
