This is an eight-part off-roading series hosted by editor Sirish Chandran with in-depth tutorials on how to drive the Jimny off-road in different terrains and conditions. We start with the basics and demonstrate the traction advantage of AWD and 4x4 over FWD and RWD with the Suzuki Jimny. We also explain the technical differences in these systems. And before we end a few tips to make off-roading a safe and fun experience.

Are you convinced about the benefits of AWD and 4WD? Any doubts, shoot them below! 👇
💯
@@sirishchFantastic Presentation Sirish... Even noobs shall now understand the differences in a practical scenario.
Great video. Btw is there any after market air suspension for lifting Maruti Swift? Any recommendations?
How does the selective 4*4 work in vitara without transfer case? Is there a clutch linkage? Also what would happen if you engage traction control in Vitara? Can it brake the wheels that have no traction to provide torque transfer to other wheels?
Can you please explain why the AWD Grand Vitara struggled while the 4X4 Jimny succeded..when technicalities aside essentially power was being routed to all four wheels in both the cars and advantages of BoF architecture and articulation did not play any significant role in the incline..was it related to loss of momentum?
For long(atleast 2 yrs) i have been thinking about a similar review by auto journos
But now Evo did it
Salute to Sirish
Thank you
I second this!
This series is going to be Gold❤
Thank you Advaith!
Cool tip on thumb grip. There's always something new to learn from Sirish in every video!
That’s what tutorials are for! To help you be better drivers! 😁
I got a Jimmy recently and stumbled upon your channel accidentally. Not a hidden gem, a treasure! Thank you, Team.
Learning very well explained and grounded off-road techniques here from Brazil, congratulations on the incredible video series!
4:28 the king of off-road in the top left 💀
Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!
Well done! I am going to become a fan of your channel for these series. And what an excellent start to the video! (Am a Jimny automatic owner)
I hope you will be sticking by the safety and usage guidelines in the owner's manual of the Jimny, and will explain deviations if any.
Hey, thank you!
And do share your experiences with the Jimny!

Now you know why you need AWD or better, 4x4 💪🏻
All thanks to you! Such a great way to spend a Sunday, this video!
Finally someone compared JImny and Grand Vitara AWD's offroading capability!! thank you Evo..I'm sure many like me has been confused in their buying decision.
Glad we could help.
Instead of the s cross , you should have bought the LORD ALTO FWD comparison, it would have climbed the slope at ease
Haha! But this has to also with the SUVs.
Don’t forget about lord spresso 🛐
Agreed... You should compare it to the cars that we Indians use most on the off-road terrain.
😊
😊😊😊
🎉🐦😄🤟🐦🤟
and finally evo india with another fabulous content💥
Thank you
Love this off road series already ❤
Hello evo india team, greetings of the day. Very interesting series, hope you bring Jeep Compass or meridian to understand the comparison,
Thanks for the suggestion!
3:57 The real big daddy is parked over there on the left 😂😂😂😂
We have a story on that in the magazine
Best automotive content creator! Superb work !
Thank you so much 👍Do like and share the videos with your friends!
Mr.Sirish never fails to impress us. 🤝
Amen to that!
Kudos! This is educational! Nothing like any auto 'channels'
Came here from your Toyota LC-105 samurai ed post on insta. ❤️❤️
Nice April 1 trick
how you are being able to know that we want this type of video
Hahaha! Hope it was all that you wanted! The second video drops soon.
🫡
I'm sure you'll cover this in upcoming episodes. The need for better tyres and the importance of lowering tyre pressure. The statement made in this episode - keep pressure at recommended is pretty vague. Hope you will cover this in detail. Very well done, good initiative and looking forward for more!
Thanks for the suggestion
Very professional method of explaining 👍🏼
Subscribed and have the bell icon ON... Great work Sirish....
The Jimny is a product of almost 50 years of R&D. It should be compared with other renowned offroaders only.
This is not a comparison test of the Jimny. We’re demonstrating the differences of the different hardware
@@sirishchWhat drive mode was the Grand Vitara.
Was it kept on AWD Lock or Auto mode?
Sirish sir Climbed the slopes more easily and more number of times than the cars with the 2LEGDRIVE(2LD)🗿
Haha
Very informative video... Good job...🎉
Do we need to press the clutch while changing from 2h to 4h and 4h to 4L , kindly reply ?
5 star review ! Awesome background music ,Cool stuff.
Well presented, Vasili South Africa
Did the grand vitara brake? No wheel spin was seen in the video
Great video, but one doubt: What is the difference between 4-High and 4-Low?
Coming up in the next tutorial in this series
amazing series loved it a lott🤩🤩
Thank you for watching :)
How well is grand vitara on the sand dunes please make a video on it
Hi.. as per my knowledge traction control gets off in 4L. But in 4H it will be on. So when it climbed the
steep was traction control switched off ?
Excellent, Sirish!
Thank you
Could you cover XUV 700 Diesel AT FWD vs AWD. With the same car it’ll be interesting to see the difference. Also, the torque should help the FWD go far!
Thanks for the suggestion
Sooooper very informative ❤
Glad you liked it
🙏
Hello, nice review. When you say shift on the fly means without using the clutch??
Evo India has one of the best auto content out there - very original!
Glad you liked it
You shoul have added the RWD with MLD Bolero Neo to the comparison
Jimny is good for sandakphu?
Superb jimmy
Nice informative...nice to watch comparative videos with tech info ..on a lighter note,Yes, u could climb at ease😅.
I've Scorpio S7,rwd... could that b a performer
Waiting for more videos in your "web series" n if feasible,to watch these live on site...
Glad to hear you’re loving it. Do like and share it ahead with your friends
I have been waiting for this to learn how to off road
Thanks for bringing this 🎉❤❤❤
We are glad you loved it!
What about 4L/low range mode?
The most important thing that u missed... Engaging the snow and lock mode in grand vitara and seeing how it does against the jimny...
Dud the grand Vitara really fail to make it to the top even with AWD?
Is tyres stock in Jimny?
Scross was disel or petrol?
Did the Vitara have awd lock on ?
The next video is off-roading with the GV where we will talk about all the modes
Love all your videos.
Thank you! Do considering giving the videos a Like and a share
Good model to come india
As far as I am concerned, you have chosen to the perfect cars to compare the Jimny with.
I still didn't fully comprehend the difference between AWD and 4×4 since both seem to transfer power to all 4 wheels. Does the AWD do it without the 'tranfer case'? Is that the key? Then I will look up just what transfer cases are.
In the sample shown in this video, in my amateur mind that is not educated enough on this topic, did the Grand Vitara in AWD and the Jimny in 4H essentially have the same set up, and the Jimny succeeded because of the lower weight or something? Or does the AWD and 4H differ in other ways too?
Thank you!
And let us try to simplify it further.
Where is this place?
i think you're artificially limiting the grand vitara awd. i think it would've made it up just fine...
When is the part 2 comming. BTW what was driving mode for Vitara. Was it in Lock Mode when the test was conducted?
Next episode drops soon.
The Grand Vitara does not have a solid axle in the back nor does it have independent rear suspension with the differential mounted to the frame. Can you explain how does it work.
More on that in the next episode!
Location pls… looks amazing
Shirish & team brought Defender as back up! 😊
That was for another story, which we have in September issue of our magazine.
Are you going to talk about that defender in the backdrop?
We have a story in our magazine on that
Thou thar is good looking but engineer wise Jimny is very good off roader n good mileage n very good engine
isnt the place where this video is shooted resembles to drishyam movie
😮🤷♂️
Thank you Sirish. Very candid and very informative. I have a doubt to clarify. Do we need an internal sensor TPMS system in an overlander like jimny? Asking since company is not providing it. What's your take?
It’s always good to keep a check on your tyre pressures. You could do that using TPMS or you could also keep a portable pressure gauge and an inflator
I was disappointed to see the Grand Vitara not make it all the way to the top. Is the AllGrip Select that bad?
Not at all. It's use case is different.
I wonder why the grand vitara stopped? Awd + some momentum could have pushed it all the way up. Couldn’t it?
Edit: need to have patience for the next video. Got it.
Haha!
Waiting for the next part...
Soon
Next time if possible please include Alto /wagon r also
We need to know how mountain goat performs
Haha! Thanks for the suggestion!
can u tell what is Mahindra's mm540 water wadding capacity?
We'll need to scour through some really old material to find that out.
@@evoIndia can u help me find these materials?
I want to see Sirish sir driving Jeep Meridian
Thanks for the suggestion
For naives, whats the difference between AWD and 4x4
It more to do with the tech 4x4 has.
We need 4wd sedans too
3:55 Could have got a run with Defender!
Where the hell is this terrain. ?
you should keep same camera shots for all cars otherwise looks cheating.
Shirish’s 2legs did way better 😂
Looking forward to what the GV AWD can do
Haha
Not sure what mode u tried with Grand Vitara . No clarity there . Plz include those details in next video . Should have tried GV with awd lock as well 🤔
More coming up

Any vaccancy for this position? , salary not an issue 😁
If you would like to work with us, send in your resume with a cover letter to careers @ gtopublishing.com
Not sure why grand vitara stopped? No reason given looks scripted
Did you watch the whole video?
😍👍
Thank you!
Should have added RWD also like bolero
Missed the RWD bit!
Big mistake designing money waste investment😅😢😊
I would climb vt maruti 800 u just have novice off road drivers😂
It just looks like a toy.
It does look small, but it can do a lot!
🎉
Thank you!
2 K15B engines with similar power & torque output one having FWD , One having RWD with 4*4 transfer case and then a K15C with AWD again similar figures . Nice demo of their capabilities . This shows no matter what a proper 4*4 machine 🔥is always superior to pseudo SUV's and which are in the end crossovers😂 with flat bonet and ground clearance , FWD setup in such terrains . U can get luxury and features in a pseudo SUV👍 but not always capability👎. 4*4 isnt everyones cup of tea.🤗
It all depends on what one is looking for
Lord Spresso be like : Why not me😥 in this test ? 😂
Haha
