Haha funny video! This episode is so fun. Now let's get serious 😶 The show will do this sometimes where there's an episode that completely removes a character's progress. It's normal. The only thing that's weird is that it's the last season, a few episodes before Twilight's has her Coronation 💀 Just awful timing. A princess can have flaws, and she has tons of other qualities that make her a wonderful ruler. This episode should have been earlier, or her competitiveness should have been dialed back.
Twilight never got any character progress related to her twilighting problem. I figured out that this episode was the first and the last one ever that was dealing with it, because after all her other character development she literally needed just this one last drop of realization of how she hurt Pinkie to make her put her shit together once and foremost. This ep is logically followed by the last summer sun celebration ep where everyone else also meets the realisation that Twilight for real has dealt with her problem and isn't going to twilight, and is happy for her. This is one of the best parts of season 9, Twilight finally resolves her issues, giving up her most dumb character flaw and is now truly ready to rule, and I don't know why more people don't talk about that? She also doesn't panic in the final, that again proves that she finally has grown out of that. And everyone still acts like she is all the same panicking mess that she was for most of the show at the end, making serious theories about how she would be a bad ruler based on this trait, while she literally gave it up during the last season. I'm thinking that a lot of people just haven't actually watched s9 and this I don't understand :( It's my personal favourite, every single episode is pure fun and entertainment.

For being Celestia’s best student, she makes the most irrational, stupid and most reckless decisions. Like lesson zero for example she goes so far as to cause a problem so she can write to Celestia she “solved “ a friendship problem. Or in the theatrical movie she used her friends as a distraction and steal the sea kingdom’s sacred treasure to save equestia, EVEN THOUGH HER FRIENDS HAD CONVINCED THE RULER TO GIVE IT TO THEM!!!Doesn’t help that she’s inconsistent with it. I think this episode wouldn’t be so bad if this was like season one or two but this is season 8 ( I think) she should known better than to do this crap. I don’t hate twilight as some people but I can see why people don’t like her.
I lost respect for her during Season 6, when she tried to convince Starlight not to make friends with Trixie (No Second Prances). Also, I really think Twilight should have deserved a harsher punishment in this episode (A Trivial Problem).
honestly i don't really get why people are calling twilight a bad princess here. like yeah sure she fucked up and this is bad but nobody's perfect. we all have toxic traits that we all need to work on. twilight having quite a high opinion of her own knowledge is nothing new, and she does need to work on it. shouldn't we be teaching kids nobody is perfect, not even the princess of friendship with friendship, instead of instilling the idea that people CAN be perfect?

Everyone has things about themselves to work on, as you said. But this? this is not it. Even if you have a goal that you really want to win, you don't treat your friend this way. You don't smack your friend, you don't lie and gaslight them, and you don't get them disqualified just because you want to win. if this is how you react to a smaller issue, it would seriously make me question how you'd react to a bigger but similar problem. Twilight has done a lot for a lot of people, like in the cruise episode, but this is a horrible character flaw.
