For a show that was originally intended for young girls, it sure has a lot of adult themes in it! No wonder grown ass men fell in love with this show! Including me!
Yep. The basic summary of the song is "if you cast that spell everyone and everything will die". The Spirit of Hearth's Warming Yet to Come doesn’t mess around.
Oh but Luna in that Tantabus episode - "I created the Tantabus to give myself the same nightmare every night, to punish myself for what I did as Nightmare Moon" - Literal psychological self-harm 👀
For number 2, apple cider isn't explicitly an alcoholic drink in America/Canada, it's just an autumn beverage. You can make it alcoholic, but there's not a connotation between cider and alcohol here like there is in other nations.
Yep, that episode was removed from being shown in the United Kingdom since Cider over here has always been known as alcoholic. I've talked to a few people who've watched the entire show... Except that episode. When I showed it to them they were pretty surprised lol
I used to think that Pinkie Pie was an asshole for taking all the cider but now that I think about it as an adult I realize it was just her way of helping Rainbow Dash overcome her addiction... a true true friend indeed
This is the main reason I watch this. Think about it. Most of the fan-favorite series/movie that people watch tend to have SOME adult themes. Take Mulan for example, at the lake, they made a naken man joke with Yao. Pixar's "Purl", included the dumb donkey word, and had some mild adult humor. RATATOUILLE HAS LITERAL SIGNS OF DRUNKNESS AND AFFAIR. Basically, a good show is a show/movie that can attract all audiences. It isn't necessarily bad, you just need to know how much you can limit it. (Also, my little pony also had a huge point in "The Friendship Quest" where it hints largely on solitary confinement)
Huh, I need to rewatch this series. A ton of stuff flew over my head when I was a kid. It’s always fun to rewatch your childhood and be like “Oh! That was meant to replace a curse word!” or something like that.
What's your fave parts in this show for little girls guys? Mine is when Trixie attempts suicide purpously, King Sombra puts ponies in slavery, Luna torturing herself, Sending a kid to jail, and more! Self harm, Suicide and sending a kid to jail! So kid friendly and for 5 year olds!
0:03 Thanks for Clarifying. It's one of the few shows that can remain Innocent and Safe for most Audiences. Lego Ninjago fortunately is the same way. (Not to mention featuring a lot of the same Actors from MLP too) We don't get many shows that retain that essence we need nowadays to help us get through difficult situations. Despite not watching it all the time (as it isn't always as serious towards characters not being a bit annoying), it's Therapeutic for me, especially when I am High Functioning Autistic. It's a nice show that when I think about, pulls away my stresses, and allows me to recover. Regardless of stuff like PTSD and other various factors the Show has contained in its 9 Season run. All it does, is reassure that problems like that have a Solution that can mend such psychological problems.
They know parents are going to be forced into watching this show, so they throw a lot of stuff in for the parents. MANY "kids" shows do this. Disney does it, The Muppets, Sesame Street, all of them. Though few of them go quite as far as MLP has a few times. This show can get pretty dark at times. Tangled TV show did as well.

For a show that was originally intended for young girls, it sure has a lot of adult themes in it! No wonder grown ass men fell in love with this show! Including me!
For the life of me, I NEVER understood why this show was rated TV-Y.
You think this is bad Little Witch Academia had "sh*t" rated TV-Y7!
@@cradica I never watched that series.
I still can't understand how MLP managed to keep its TV-Y rating
It should have had a G rating imo.
Let's not mention Luna's song about Snowfall causing eternal frostbite and blizzards in Equestria
@@astrobookwormsinger darn mlp is dark
Finally a video which talks about trixie's suicide attempt! Kudos, bro!
I mean, cider isn’t alcoholic _everywhere_
But the foals never drink it soooooooooo
Someone in a discussion about this said only alcoholic cider has foam...
@@mrfaywilds8852 yep. Non-alcoholic cider wouldn't have foam, meaning those ponies are lining up to get wasted
I mean that cider was bubbly af..
But there are SEVERAL instances of the Ponies being High AF after having Cider
0:39 This moment in the video just helped me laugh more
For number 2, apple cider isn't explicitly an alcoholic drink in America/Canada, it's just an autumn beverage. You can make it alcoholic, but there's not a connotation between cider and alcohol here like there is in other nations.
Thank you for this, I was so confused when people always made cider alcoholic.
yeah and i play genshin impact and apple cider is introduced as non alcoholic in the game
Yep, that episode was removed from being shown in the United Kingdom since Cider over here has always been known as alcoholic. I've talked to a few people who've watched the entire show... Except that episode. When I showed it to them they were pretty surprised lol
But if you add alcohol into cider it gets bubbly (I just know that fact)

Me:You mean,[BIG SHOT]?
Uhh, thats a clover blast
As someone who grew up on this show, I’m starting to understand why I’m so desensitized to everything.
yeah
Mine is when Trixie attempts suicide purpously,
King Sombra puts ponies in slavery,
Luna torturing herself,
Sending a kid to jail,
and more!
Self harm, Suicide and sending a kid to jail! So kid friendly and for 5 year olds!
my favourite bits are all the various war crimes :D
Sunset Shimmer in demon form wanted to k**l Twilight Sparkle.
@snotlout_oi Starlight basically started a cult 😂
I like that you didn’t include the parts about school segregation, dictatorships, economic ruin, or communistic cults because they were too tame.
I now im 2 years late but……
Neighsay was literally racist towards other species in the beginning of season 8
After seeing this clip I wish Starlight said "SHUT UP" instead of "QUIET!" It would have maked the scene work BETTER.
0:03 Thanks for Clarifying.
It's one of the few shows that can remain Innocent and Safe for most Audiences.
Lego Ninjago fortunately is the same way. (Not to mention featuring a lot of the same Actors from MLP too)
We don't get many shows that retain that essence we need nowadays to help us get through difficult situations.
It's still not that strong for children. The only scene that did seem to me something out of line is that of the naked dragon.
I mean... Cider is a different form of apple juice in the USA, where the show is made... Y'know...
Yet, in Italy the episode was banned for a while because of that.
Only after like 3 years, the episode was fully dubbed and aired on tv
Except it's Canadian, where it can be either!
Non-alcoholic cider isn't bubbly like it is in FIM. The ponies are getting drunk

But how most of these things are not considered for kids? Man... In my times these stuff were everywhere.... Today kids can't take anything...

I think it was trying to prove that MLP isn't as innocent as it seems, like the little kid shows nowadays
@@dazzrex yeah. i don't think it's not that kids can't take anything, it's just that producers are under that impression. kids can take a lot more than lots of shows give them credit for.

@@ashleyredsheep Actually, the kids individually just would sleep on those moments, because they're not prepared to understand them, I remember watching Scooby-Doo S.A at the age of 9-10 and I recently rewatched it, and lemme tell you I realized about loads of adult jokes that I didn't understand back then...

WHAT EPISODE IS THIS SCENE EVEN FROM I DONT REMEMBER THIS AT ALL
Father Knows Beast - S8 EP24
Everytime I watch the episode about the fruit bats I cackle at the line ‘it’s officially apple bucking day’ cause they’ve already established buck as an in world curse word
there need to be more shows like this. (Altho, I only recently got back into this fandom after.....SIX YEARS.)
How did I know the exact scene that would show up at 1:30
As a person who has only watched MLP as a tiny child, I was VERY caught off guard
I never realized that when trixie did the trick she was commiting like omg
FLUTTERSHY LITERALLY SNAPPED THE BEARS NECK OMG 😭
Oml, the way this video was edited is sooooo good 🤣
In the movie, they (the good guys) committed the flowing war crimes
*PERFIDY* (when they hid in a cake and told the guard they had a gift for the king)- it is a war crime to disguise a military operation as a civilian operation
*HORS DE COMBAT* (when Pinky pie gave one of the Storm King’s soldiers a cake rendering him defenseless only to fire at him immediately afterwards)- it’s a war crime to fire upon soldiers who are rendered unable to fight back
*INCENDIARY WEAPONS* (when Spike was used as a flame thrower) flame throwers are banned by the Geneva Convention for obvious reason
And in the even in the TV show they “good ponies” committed the following warcrimes
*SUMMARY EXECUTION* (when Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis where turned to stone after immediately being defeated)- it is a war crime to execute or bring about capital punishment with out a fair trial followed by a guilty verdict
And in Equestria Girls….
*ENDANGERMENT OF CIVILIANS* (In the Episode Super Squad Goals, Apple Jack throws a bench with an old lady still sitting in it as an attempt to stop a criminal from fleeing)- it is a war crime to willfully endanger civilians
*CALLING FOR NO QUARTER*- (In the Episode Spring Breakdown, When Rainbow Dash thinks there is a evil magic attacking the ship, she suggests taking a boat to find the evil magic and says “it’s go time” Twilight asks her what that means, and Rainbow Dash respond “we take NO prisoners”)- it is a war crime to order your soldiers/friends to kill with out mercy and refuse an enemy’s surrender
And as a bonus the Storm King is guilty of
*TOTAL WAR*- (when he attacked at a celebration full of civilians)- it is a war crime to not discriminate between enemy combatants and defenseless civilians
*FORCED RELOCATION*- (when he enslaved the ponies)- it is. War crime to force people from their homes unless it is for their safety
CRIMES OF AGGRESSION - (when he invaded Canterlot with out justified reason)- it’s a war crime to use armed force against a peaceful/ neutral countries
ECOCIDE- (no plants are vulnerable during is control of Canterlot)- it’s a war crime to destroy plant life for no reason
And SLAVERY I don’t think I need to explain that one
