Hey i just want to say that, even though i know this won't instantly change your guilt about the job that you have, you do have to realize that you actually help other people. Traveling tips aside, your vlogs and book channel helped me improve my lifestyle. I started taking a lot of walks alone, listening to new music, started reading again, writing and journaling, trying new and old hobbies i neglected, admiring the small things in life (such as blooming flowers, architecture, people, instead of being anxious), and finally found a woman figure to look up to, because your interactions and actions are so nice and genuine, but still a regular human being. And i know a lot of things go on behind the camera, i am inspired enough by the person you portray in the vlogs. So don't stress about yourself, because it is hard enough to put yourself on the internet and make content around your life and always getting feedback and comments even when you don't feel like it. So just enjoy your future and know that it is not a privilege as much as something you worked hard on and put a lot of effort into making it perfect (including the book channel) so yeah, love ya, keep doing you
Yeah there's no expectations of your viewers to have you produce every week - we do follow a lot of vloggers and will happily check anything you produce whenever, so don't feel like you must keep us entertained every week.
I was just more worried about the quality not necessarily the quantity! Unfortunately youtube makes it so that you have to be consistent or else they dont show your videos to people so the consistency is more so i can keep my channel alive but the quality is for you guys 🥹🥹🥹

My parents also just came to korea to visit for 2 weeks! We spent like 4 days in seoul and then travelled around the rest of the time. They had a blast! Their favorite things were trying all the food (my dad loved salt bread 😂). Also something they really liked was going to that viewpoint in near paju where you can look across the river to North Korea. My Korean in laws came with us and they were amazed too. They had never been there before. We saw soo much activity on the north korean side.
All the scenes are so beautiful Cari! I'm starting to realize how difficult it is to take such beautiful shots and appreciate them even more 👍 now that I've started my own channel😊
Hi Cari! I just want to say, I've seen you struggle with the idea that this channel is work and that you're doing something important or valuable enough to call it "work" and I just want to say:
I am disabled and live with chronic pain. There have been times when I couldn't leave my bed for weeks on end, being in intense pain and having to take serious medications, and being able to take a trip into your world has saved me on some of those days. Dreaming of going back to South Korea, and getting to do all of the things I didn't get to do during my trip in 2018.
I now have a full life filled with work, my lovely partner, and travel. But during times when I have felt all alone, you were there, creating a dialogue with the camera (me!) and I don't think you should discount that. On my worst and most isolated days, you have been a familiar friend to keep me company. And I appreciate it more than I can say.

Hi Cari! This is maybe a little random but I particularly love how you show how your solo travel and exploring. It’s really helped me as a kind of timid person to branch out, and a couple of months ago to agree to a job in Mexico (which I’d never even visited!) Now I am SO happy doing a job that is kind of a dream, and wanted to say thanks for encouraging me to be brave :)
Lately I’ve been feeling like I can’t help but push myself to do something every single day and that I really need to take some days off and have that be okay. Like even when I force myself not to work on something the next day, I still have these expectations of myself and put to dos in my journal to complete, eg working out, "at least" doing yoga, cleaning up, studying Korean, drawing more (I’m an artist and still need to improve on so much!) etc etc.. so yeah I’ve also been feeling like I should slow it down and try to not turn every single thing I like to do into a chore. Working on that right now :)
💕it’s weird how much I can relate to how you’ve been feeling recently. I spend way too much time online and really want to be “offline” more, but having recently moved here, I still feel awkward going out alone. The meetup was wonderful, I know I already told you but it was fantastic to meet so many people with the same interests. Now, to once again go back through the vlog and note down all the cafes 😂

Sundays are my slow-down time, always starting with your vlogs. And today right after watching this I'm going to a street fair and to our botanical garden (all those flowers in the vid almost mady me cry so now I have to go to the botanical)... As an overworking person who also feels really overwhelmed with it sometimes, thank you for the reminder to slow down, again. Take care of yourself and I hope you have a great time in Japan!

my sister and i went to the eras tour last weekend and our costumes were- she was sunshine i was midnight rain. so she wore my cari cakes necklace on the ☀️side! so we brought a little piece of you along with us 🫶🏻 we were blessed and got floor seats direct from ticketmaster so the closest i’ll ever be to taylor for sure 😅🎉❤

Around the 18 minute mark… literally the same thing I talked to my therapist about yesterday. The “bonus” things you do are just as important as the “work” things! I am trying to learn this too I am currently journaling in a very messy apartment. Every time my mind wanders to all the things I feel NEED to be done I try to zero in on the journaling. Journaling is slow and peaceful for me and even though it doesn’t feel like the right kind of productivity for me it is doing great things for my mental health. The cleaning can wait and there is no reason to rush it. Oh and she even tasked me with eating an orange lol. Just the whole process of peeling and being 100% focused on that task helps calm my thoughts and I get a sweet treat at the same time. ❤

the talk about time is so on point. i was just talking to my friend about our lunch break in grade school where we only had 1 hour but was able to go back home from school, eat lunch, play a little bit and take a nap! all in 1 hour! so really it's making my head burst just thinking about it. also, i don't know maybe hormones or age but it feels like why is time suddenly chasing me?

Always love your April rainy day vlogs Cari! They just seem so cozy for some reason! One of my favorites is a vlog of yours from a few years back with the title "April Showers" on the thumbnail. I always go back to it!
seeing cari's vlog brings me so much comfort and happiness as if everything is alright and makes me wanna live a life like this when I grow up where I can do things I love which brings me peace and happiness and ofc listening to moon river in the vlog made me much happier
18:10 I feel this whole section so much. I have the same issue of getting stuck in a loop with certain tasks (work, some social media stuff, etc), but then act like I don't have time to do simple things like pack a nice lunch for work or stay on top of my dishes. It's such a hard balance sometimes. I think like you said, it's a matter of just trying out something you "don't have time for" (like making breakfast, or reading a couple pages of a book, or sketching) and hopefully with practice and repetition it'll become evident that we do have time for all these things after all :)
Definitely. I made nice little omelettes all week cause i had to finish my eggs before the trip so that helped!

Cari I just wanted to pop up here to say thank you to you. I’ve been living in Korea for a year now and in 3 weeks I’ll be going back to my country. Thanks to your videos and especially your solo traveling vlogs I’ve been able to travel outside of Seoul and visit other amazing places without being scared of me being on my own. And I have to say once you get used of traveling alone you really enjoy it :) Every time I watched your vlogs and read your blog’s articles I took notes of all the nice places you’ve been to and try to go there. My trip to Korea wouldn’t have been the same without your vlogs so thank you very much ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing your routine slowing down. As a perfectionist also, it's hard to turn off the "Go go go". Seeing how you take time for yourself to take naps, spend time at cafe to draw, etc, inspires me. Hope you get to keep this up for yourself!
