  • In this step-by-step tutorial video, learn how to highlight your mouse cursor to make it easier for your audience to follow your mouse movements and clicks. The two options that I feature in this video are entirely free. Highlighting your mouse pointer is especially valuable during presentations, demos, remote teaching, and screen recording. Follow along to find out how to make this work on Windows 7, 8, and 10. At the end, I also show you how to turn on mouse highlighting within OBS or Open Broadcaster Software.

    • @KevinStratvert
      @KevinStratvert  3 года назад

      It has to be prioritized along with everything else. I'm sure with so many people working from home now and the need to instruct virtually, this may become a higher priority. Submit the feedback via Feedback Hub on Windows and that'll help with the prioritization. If enough people submit the feedback, that'll help to make sure it gets done.

      I'll add to my list of videos to cover. High level summary: I use PowerDirector as my editing software and you can insert key frames and define the zoom level for that key frame (most video software includes this capability). I use this for zooming in and out at certain points. It's a little time consuming, but works well. Perhaps a video at some point if enough people are interested.

    (Win 10 64 user).....AMAZING!!! Like many below have said about finding away to highlight your mouse, THIS IS THE VIDEO TO WATCH AND FILES TO USE!!!! The programs are freeware, legitimate (my Norton scanned them and had NO issues), and very clear. Once installed and in use, the highlight / halo / other mouse options integrate with WIndows mouse setting so you can add trails, etc...
    I downloaded OBS and will use it this wee to record my screen for lectures. In the past I used a program that captures at 20 frames per second which made the captured file look choppy!!

    Thank you, Kevin! Great job. I now have a lovely blue highlight around all my cursors.
    A couple quick notes:
    * So critical to make sure you choose cursor downloads that are licensed for your intended use. I found the Read Me files or download screens were great at providing that info. Most business/education help desk Techs will ask before they will open the sacred admin account and add those lovely cursors.
    ** Renaming the cursor files with an underscore at the beginning is helpful to save having to dig through the long list of windows defaults in Mouse Settings.
