    Nice review! I have been looking at some underquilt options and stumbled across the cocoon, which is how I found your video. I like how you showed all 3 available options. Very helpful in helping me make some purchasing decisions.

    Just ordered the quilt based largely on your review. Thank you and may God bless!

    Nice video! I actually bought the quilt to use as a type of backpacking quilt, and it's great. With the right layers and with a decent sleeping pad I was pretty toasty.

    Ordered the quilt because of this review - I hope you get royalties from SnugPak.
    Depending on where you geographically and the temperatures I’d sack off the under-quilt completely and just get the cocoon, as with it open it does the same thing. If you combine it with the tropical hammock with the bug net you can have it on the bottom with the bug net up.

    Take the longer cords on the under quilt and tie them straight up to a ridge line. This will raise the the sides of the under quilt, holds tighter underneath.

      +Jim Ritt That's a great idea. I will try that.

      I concur, this keeps the underblanket up against the underside of the hammock for a toasty warm night's sleep.

    Sorry, but use a Pursik Knot on your ridge line, I use s-biners and tied long lines from under quilt hooked into Pursik knot. Hang long prosper

    dd hammocks in uk make a top quilt and under quilt should try them out

    • @siemadademsi5533
      @siemadademsi5533 5 лет назад +1

      Don't bother, you'll just be wasting your money. DD have been going downhill for the last couple of years now. Snugpak is a great UK company that not only listen to any complaint or ideas for improvement, they actually act on them.

    Great review! Earned a sub. I love Snugpak products (most of them anyway). They are a company that listens to end users when you don’t like something about a product too. A+ in my opinion.
    Side note: that looks an awful lot like Washington Forest there Sir...

    interested in cocoon,can it be used as a under quilt as well ? without zipping it up.

    • @ReviewOutdoorGear
      @ReviewOutdoorGear  7 лет назад

      +Ta Price Yes. It's basically like an under quilt if you don't zip it up.

      @ReviewOutdoorGear  7 лет назад

    What is the temperature rating for the under quilt?

    • @ReviewOutdoorGear
      @ReviewOutdoorGear  7 лет назад +1

      +josh payne There is not a specific rating for the quilts because it depends so much on how you set it up. I would say it's good to maybe 40s if you had a sleeping bag with a similar rating. Beyond that you will need either a top quilt or a warmer bag. I took it down to high 20s with the top quilt and a 40 degree bag. Got a tad cold towards the morning.
