Thank you for this video. Really useful modifications. My snugpak underblanket and top quilt arrived yesterday and this was super useful for me setting it up just right 👌
I gotta tell you, Leo, without exception your camping gear reviews have been extremely useful time and time again. From new items to neat little tricks you've come up with that improve how something works ... all are very much appreciated. Good job, brother.
Great video! I did purchase one of these Snugpack under guilt. Took it camping this last week for the work I do. I took a 20 above sleeping bag and this under guilt did great it was well below freezing 20 or so degrees. Best purchase I have made yet towards improving my hammock camping experience. Thanks again for the videos keep them coming!!
Glad to hear you're enjoying it. It really is a great underquilt, especially for the price. Eventually I'll upgrade to a goose down one, but damn those things are expensive. Until then this one is doing me just fine. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Good review. I at Woodbridge trying out a Snugpak now. I found last night that I did a bit of adjusting. The cordage just does not fit my hammock well. Once I got it adjusted I slept great!!! Thanks for the review and the mods you made
Great review. I love seeing how people mod their gear and make it their own. I recently modified my underquilt and added an additional loop on both ends between the 2 inner tie outs and I use the now 5 loops to use the middle shock cords like a cinch. Now it works just like those fancy $200 underquilts. So far I have taken it just below freezing, but I'm curious to see if I can take it further.
Hey just wanted to let you know that I got this UQ last month for my first UQ for my first hammock camping trip. I used it about a month and a half ago and temps only dropped to high 50s at night but I was down right hot in it. Very please with the product especially at the price. Thanks for the great video!
It's cinches up in four areas around the ends of your hammock. All of this depends on what type of hammock you are using of course. I found this to work with either my Dream Hammock Darien or of course, my Snugpak hammocks. Or any other generic hammock you can get off of eBay or Amazon. It just has to be dialed in correctly. It can be used in the diagonal lay with in an asymmetrical hammock. If you're using a banana hammock such as an ENO,, it's just going to sandwich you in same as any other banana hammock.
Good info!!! I have not yet added an under quilt or under blanket to my hammock, this looks like it is a pretty decent 3 season blanket. Moderate in size and weight. Thanks for showing this! Oh by the way was this at Clinton?
I thought it was. I have published a couple short videos from my camp that weekend, but I am still trying to get my main camp video put together. Great Park, but it was way to busy that weekend for me LOL Thanks again for the review!
Love your channel, and your review videoes! I'm going for some of their products now! But, why don't they have any adjustments options on each side? To snug in the front and back. Are those shock cords you hook on to the hammock suspension enough to make it tight enough to keep cold air out?
MrAxlingen Thank you! I appreciate that. the shock cord you're supposed to wrap around the tree actually runs the length of the hammock so you can send it up on the sides to fully envelop you. I thought I showed that the video but maybe I missed it. the shock cord does a good job of keeping everything finished up around you so you don't have cold air flow between the hammock and the under quilt.
Tried to order them to the hotel I'll be staying at in NYC, but Amazon wouldn't let me for some reason. I'll try again soon. I was thinking more on the foot end and head end. I made a DIY UQ from an old sleeping bag. That have shock cord in both foot and head end, but I saw another video as well on the UQ and there I could see that it actually does a really great job keeping air out. Have you tried it on a Hennessy Expedition or Explorer hammock?
I haven't tried Hennessey yet, the price always gets me. I'd love to try them out sometime, but so long as I have others that are doing the job I can't justify the purchase.
Great review. Was it shock cord, you said? I've never heard something like that. What is it? Some kind of bungee cord? Please let me know. Thanks, brother. ATB, Christian from Germany

Much appreciated! It always makes me happy to know I've helped someone else out in their camping excursions. Thanks for watching!

Good stuff testing my under quilt and top quilt this weekend.
Jamie Palmer Thanks for the comment. Enjoy!

Winter is definately the best time to go camping. Great video
Thank you.

I had the same problem with the cordage. Takes quite a bit of adjusting to fit it just right. Have fun out there!
I just got this UQ. When I set it up, I immediately knew it needed some modifications; thank you for a couple ideas.
Cwil Glad to have helped. Thank you!
Hello man, i really like your videos, you help me a lot, i only have 15 years old, and i learned a lot from your videos. . .
Vititom2011 Thank you, I greatly appreciate that.
Irish Zombie Nation U welcome man, i really have too much question's can u give me you e-mail or something to text to you ?
Not bad for the price at all.
Great video Leo. This is a piece of kit I dont have yet but I love Snugpak!!!
DrDennis77 Thanks brother! It is nice, especially at the price compared to most other under quilts. Hard to find one under $100, let alone $60.
I have been waiting patiently for these to come off the 2+ month back order. GREAT review...SOLD!
Great review! Good set up and info.

Same here. Thanks for watching.
$40 for an underquilt sold me. Can't wait to try it out.

Russel Thanks for the comment. It will definitely keep you comfortable in the 50'. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Just made my own from an old sleeping bag, £2 from a charity shop.
Colin BRown Nice! If you are able to do so homemade gear is the way to go. Make it to your exact specifications just the way you want.
Irish Zombie Nation exactly
BTW I'm Paganpreppers on here, just started so only 4 vids up
Hay Leo, Randy here, does the ends of this under blanket close up and seal around the hammock? Also can I get a diagonal lay with this under blanket?

Thanks Leo,
Around 4.50: why not tie a bit of string under the cord stopper?

Lee Ralph Thank you, and yes, this was at Clinton Lake, about a mile down the east trail head in Woodridge Park.
I thought it was. I have published a couple short videos from my camp that weekend, but I am still trying to get my main camp video put together. Great Park, but it was way to busy that weekend for me LOL Thanks again for the review!

Psychonaut Yes, it's a thin line of bungee cord. You can buy it in different diameters and lengths. I usually get mine from eBay or Amazon.
Irish Zombie Nation Thanx for your quick response
