Epic games store going down in 2027 sounds quite legit.

Valve has been killing it! Even they offer FREE game play periods, even if it's to some limited timeframe, their refund policy is more than friendly.
My only issue is their little response to dealing with the hackers in TF2. But that's pretty much it. Valve > Epic Games

I can definitely see this happen. Timed exclusives are just money down the drain, because we PC gamers are spoiled with game choices.

    Epic was so overconfident.
They took on an established platform that was one of the very few that is universally respected and didn't try anything to build up good will to attract customers. They tried to force them and why would anyone commit to a platform that openly tells you that it doesn't respect you? Tim Sweeney lied to his potential customers and expected them to not just take the disrespect but support those who disrespect them.
There are countless reasons why Epic is such a failure but I think that is the core of why they were doomed from the start.

Yeah honestly EGS is a failure, wouldn't be shocked to see it go. Issue is Steam has all the best features and it's earned its place as the platform to use. That said GOG is probably the only other one worth using as it's games being DRM Free and it having some games not on Steam plus some games being bundled with fixes already is convenient. Steam and GOG are the only 2 worth using. However Valve does have some problems, one that you haven't mentioned yet and I feel you should (Though I understand you don't care for the game) is their complete inaction on fixing TF2 as it's been riddled with bots for years now and it's gotten so bad us fans have done yet another protest called #FixTF2 and a petition in support of it even has 350,000 signatures and it's still going up. All that and Valve hasn't done anything, no response. So by all means Valve does have issues and while I'd never just abandon Steam, I did tell myself I won't buy games directly on Steam until they do something, which is fine with me anyway since I'm broke af rn and there's not really anything I want to buy rn, plus you can buy keys. But yeah figured it's worth mentioning that about Valve, though in general what they've done with Steam is really good and it's no surprise most people use it.

Gosh, another game store will be gone soon, man, I wouldn’t be surprised if GameStop will be next, then I will be very sad, but as what these people will say: all good things must come to an end, which is unfortunate, but still. :(

it is not an “all good things must come to an end” situation. gamestop and egs are ran so poorly and they are loosing so much money and their business practices are unsustainable E.G. only selling physical games, and using their budget (epic) to buy out free to claim games. if egs does survive it still won’t be profitable for a long time just because of what they had to do to build that customer base

Steam is the rare example of monopoly done right. BTW im suprised you havent covered the fact that microsoft is trying to buy steam for 16 billion. that will turn a good monopoly to a bad monopoly overnight"

It's just not a profitable long term business model what Epic is doing by paying for exclusivity if nobody wants to use the store.
Valve may take a bigger percentage, but the customer base is huge! I also believe by Valve taking the percentage like they do, is what keeps them profitable. Epic is losing too much just by paying for exclusive rights and its costing the devs more money in the long run.
