Hi, i was playing through steam and because of the server browser it is still safe to play these days I personally haven't encountered any hackers yet so you should be fine to play bo1 I believe even the zombies is still safe to play
I play on Xbox series x this and mw2, every now and again you get a hacker or wait a bit for a lobby but the for the most part it’s still as smooth as it once was

you can still find a lot of servers through the steam version. probably one of the most active cods because of the server browser included
