People who were close to them thought she was cheating on him with Billy but neither of them have confirmed (and why would they). None of this story stacks up. 1) If you look at Nirvana / SP's 1991 tour dates, they're never in the same state at the same time apart from Boston MA on Sept 23rd where they both played the Axis. 2) Billy says she flew off to Minneapolis - where Nirvana played on 14th October 1991. True, Courtney was in Minneapolis and got with Kurt, but Smashing Pumpkins were touring Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia at that time. The day he's talking about, Nirvana were in Chicago, and SP's were in Alabama.

Man, I was a huge Pumpkins fan as a kid back in the Siamese Dream to Machins era. Stood 8 hours in line at the Waterloo records in Austin to get my Aeroplane Flies High box-set signed during the Resume the Pose tour(it was MADM, instead of Darcy, oh well), also waited 6 hours in line at Austin City Music Hall to be close to the front at the Sacred and Profane tour back in 2000, so I think I have enough fan-cred to state that Billy Corgan really seems like a douchebag. Lol

just gonna say...Courtney and Billy were probably legit soulmates, and if they'd just hooked up for real in 1991, it could've saved a lot of people a lot of pain. I'm not a "Courtney killed him" truther or anything, but he was just not equipped to deal with someone with as dominant a personality as Courtney had. She needed someone who'd fight with her, walk away, but still care about her in the end. And decades later, kind of obvious, that was Billy.

No way are they soulmates. Billy has had to help care for his brother and came from an abusive background, both hooks for a sociopath like Courtney to grab onto - I guarantee that had he been with her we would have had a dead Billy instead of a dead Kurt. Both relationships seemed incredibly toxic.

It's funny cos in the early 90s when Nirvana basically wrote the narrative it was Pearl Jam who were always called into question on their ethics and credentials, made out to be the "Anti-Nirvana" whilst Smashing Pumpkins were considered pretty cool, cos y'know Butch Vig, Courtney, all these associations which suggested authenticity. In 1992 it was so uncool to like Pearl Jam. But Pumpkins got a pass. All these years later, turns out Pearl Jam were actually the good guys. They've proven themselves to adhere to the same humanitarian punk ethic. Yes, a bit too blustery but look at their work, their heart was always in the right place. Whereas Corgan has been revealed as an absolute shit head opportunist of the highest order and the antithesis of everything grunge was supposed to be
