Yeah, everyone is different. We all react differently. Who knows? Maybe if she was 3 years older, she would relate more to Kurt and have had a similar reaction to the divorce. Then again, maybe not.

Kim: the master piece of Kurt's family. Genuine and true memories. Nothing else. Not narcisistic and liar like Wendy and Mrs Love are. This is real love (Kim's one). The other one sucks!
@UCFhThdlRmNX9CxMu5-PQzew Well, than you haven't seen her interact with her mother. There are some clips on RUclips in which mother and daughter appear extremely codependant and insincere, like for example Kim completing and remembering her mothers sentences and memories. If you have watched Wendys speech of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame memorial for Nirvana you would understand how cold and umempathic and phony his entire family actually is. Knowing Kurts background, it's so obvious what a lying, narcissistic and manipulative woman Wendy actually was. There was also no signs of sorrow or pain from Kim which would indicate or acknowledge the loss of her brother. Just compare Krist to Kim/Wendy. Krist, to this day, is still heart-broken since the death of Kurt, you can see it in his eyes, face and body language. Even Courtney Love remembered a scene where Kurt overdosed in front of his mother and sister and both (!) just took the fuck off. Very loving behaviour isn't it? So yeah Kim is just as fucking bad as Wendy. Ironnically, my own mother and sister actually have the same kind of symbiotic and toxic mother/daughter relationship as this narcissist (Wendy) and narcissist enabler (Kim).
I had the exact same relationship with my older brother - tortured the hell outta me when I was kid. However, twenty years later we have an awesome relationship and couldn't be closer. Im so sorry you didn't have longer with him Kim, he loved you very much. Also - LEAVE HER ALONE! Saying "like" and "you know" is a sign of nervousness, and you damn would be if you were given your first interview about your brother who has passed, and was one of the biggest rockstars to have lived. She did great.
Love this, see this is what people forget. kurt was as human as the rest of us , and his sisters interview confirms it. Kurt always stood up for females especially in his music and interviews. And its really nice to see that since his death, his sister can sit down and give us an insight into the young kurt. And even after all the shit , she still has those fond memories of her brother. Thank you Kim I wish everyone was as honest about kurt as you.
that bond he had with his dad before his dad got married again probably made him feel forgotten and betrayed. I can relate to that in some extent with my sibling
Kurt got grounded for a full year by his father from watching TV with the rest of the family because he forgot to feed the dog? No wonder he left home at 15.
Exactly. I was born the same Kurt's day (it's not important, but I tell that because is just a part of my story.....) I was iperactive too and my family didn't care....Too much military discipline and very little and cold love. During the years, I have had food disorders and than, sadly, heroin abuse. Thanks for giving this interview Kim. As a teenager I would identify with Kurt, probably as many did. But, it's heartbreaking, as someone who is also very family oriented, to hear what happened to Kurt after the divorce. I think personally my soul would break into many pieces if such a thing happened to me at that age. Even now, I rely heavily on my family. Lets say I'm not surprised Kurt was having such a hard time, I would probably not get very old that way either. It's 'healing' in a way to hear from his (very sober and nice) sister, instead of the lunatics who claim to represent him.
Blinking is not always lying. Blinking while silent and constant "uuuuuh" "uuuums" or looking for answers is a sign of lying. The constant blinking from the mom and Courtney is from not wanting to talk about it and/or *GUILT*. Courtney is a lying bitch, yes, we know this, but she's also a recovering junkie and one of the most difficult aspects of sobriety is the overwhelming guilt for all the shit you did when you were an addict.
i wonder if she'll ever write a book. her perspective and her life would be interesting, especially her thoughts on what happened during childhood when her brother was basically abandoned by his parents.
I know this comment is five years old but for anyone reading it please know Courtney, then later Frances have always helped out Wendy and Kim, always ….its not their fault Kurt excluded her legally
I think it's totally unfair to use your own children as ammunition against your spouse. My parents aren't divorced, but by the amount of fighting they do, they should be. There have been numerous times where my mother would pin me against my own father as a way to hurt him during their arguments and say things like, "Your daughter hates you." and other things that couldn't be further from the truth. I've lived with it enough to know that my father trusts me enough to not believe the things my mother says and has said to him during their arguments, but those are just things that I don't think I could ever forgive my mother for saying just as ways to get back at my father when they're fighting. It's so morally wrong to do that to your own children and stuff like that can permanently divide families and add in distance and guilt between the children and their parents. I'd rather them be divorced than continue to mentally and verbally abuse each other and subject us to it for the rest of our lives and leave us with the emotional and mental scars in the end of it all. My parents should have never gotten married.
Couldn't agree more. This is my mothers m.o. and even after all these years is still a problem (even after 3 marriages.) I can understand if it's something that happens when a person is younger and they learn from it and stop the behavior, but that never happened. It actually got worse with my younger brothers and sister. It's funny growing up and looking to your parents as these "adults" who you listen to etc, but after a while you start to see them more as just another person who makes mistakes and doesn't have things figured out either.
Brittany Loveless I hear ya... no one, no family and no childhood is perfect... my family life growing up was heavy. Lots of verbal and emotional abuse and a lot head games, mostly from my stepmother in an attempt to get my sister and I to move out and in with my mother full time. This was when I was ages 8 through 16 when I finally left. My dad could be just as bad or he just didn't want to know. My half siblings were treated infinitely better, got more, did more, etc. etc. But as you get older you see things clearer and learn to let it go (as much as possible) or it'll eat you up. Believe me, I'm grown and with a family of my own and while I'm nothing but supportive and loving to my kids, I can still feel the effects of being put down everyday and by the people who are supposed to raise, love and protect you. It's not easy but ya can't change it. If I could somehow go back and tell my younger self anything, it'd be to "not let shit get to ya, it doesn't matter cause one day it'll be all over and in the past." May not seem like it at the time but it does end. Hang in there.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and share your experience as well. Hopefully someday I can put it behind me and use my childhood as an example for something to never repeat. Thanks for the advice!
I agree. Although I'll always love them in their own individual way I can't stand them as a couple just because of the amount of poison that's devoured their marriage. My mom's an alcoholic which is what I believe to be one of the main reasons why their marriage has deteriorated. It sucks, it's sad and it's hard, but the only good thing I can really get out of it is a picture that I'll be sure to never paint in my future. Thanks for reading and replying. I didn't think anyone would.
i have a feeling it was his step mom, she didnt like kurt getting attention from his Dad. the step mom in my opinion was jealous how close kurt and don were, when you watch the interview with his dad and step mom and shes basically slamming kurt watch dons hand on the arm of the sofa when he squeezes it, hes clearly upset w/her.
Her not getting any money from nirvana's legacy was a good thing. It allowed her to not get dragged from the toxicity it involved and could maintain a balanced memory of him.
Agreed, Brett Morgen has access to these people who knew Kurt personally but the interviews seem so awkward and stiff that we learn very little new of this fascinating person. Too bad. It is very nice to hear from Kim, and hers seems the best of the "extended interviews". Off Camera with Sam Jones gets such interesting little insights into the person being interviewed. Brett Morgen seems clueless. :>/
Elena Reed isn't if he is clueless or if Courtney had more hands into it than what has been admitted too. Either way hopefully we get more soon or someday
Daniel Malone I agree about the interview the ones he included were way too dramatic especially the ones with his mom which were obviously lies But the music he nailed The art and music went together perfectly
No Kim I "don't" know. I don't know anything about your family except for the fact that your brother is an absolute legend and will be remembered until the end of time.
Guys I just realized something! I notice that the mother and the sister quote phrases from a documentary about Kurt where he tells anecdotes. “kurt about a son “. curiously it seems that montage was an "imitation" with a better budget of “About a son”. (montage tells what Courtney wanted to be told) obviously 🙄
I think what hurt Kurt the most was his mum sleeping with men in the little house they lived in! His mum was ehat bothered him the most and made him feel weak because he couldn't beat those men his mum was sleeping with
Jeez - fancy grounding your own son for a year - a whole year !! A sticking rigidly to it - that’s just so cruel, spiteful and mean spirited of Kurt’s father. How horribly humiliating - no goddamn wonder Kurt hated being humiliated in later years. Makes complete sense as a child’s mind is so vulnerable and ill equipped to deal with the cruel and belittling ways of an adult bent on bringing punishment down on them. I’ll always hate those ppl/parents who’ve resorted to this type of abuse. It’s just so not fucking on !!! Peace !! Rx
lol I flipped my middle finger to my kindergarten teacher 😂😂😂 she got up and pulled me by my right ear and took me to the principals office and they called my mom and I got made fun of when we all had recess because I couldn't play and had to sit next to a classroom and I just sat watching the other kids play while I got laughed at😥😥😥
Watching the WoO on psychedelic drugs can be most enlightening. You must remember beforehand to document your revelations, whilst watching the film..Once I watched it on mescaline, and it was oh so epic. It's beneficial to believe that you've discovered some universal truth(es) even if you were mistaken, and merely loaded. I think such delusion necessary to eventually gain perspective, which might to your perception of the actions that you take, relative to where you are, especially when in opposition to where it is that you truly want to be. Ergo edging ever nigh to enlightenment.
The zen mode of looking at this happenstance might factor in the canine's pangs of hunger, having an effect on Kurt's psyche. Ever action, and event of our lives has meaning, at least in so far as likely having no meaning whatsoever. It's dependent on what is this entity of "meaning". All and everything so fraught with existential dilemna
My dad left my mom for another man. And my mother blamed me for it because I was the oldest. I also picked on my little brother especially when he'd behead my Barbie dolls. 🤷♀️
I don't get it....after watching heck I got the vibe that kurt and his sisters mother and father where selfish, both in different ways.....what I don't get is Kurt and his sister feel so opposite from them........... kurts sister seems so cool just like her big brother 💖
Having step siblings is a bitch u do nothing wrong try to get along but always pushed aside. Sounds like both parents pushed kurt away. Wish he was still here so we could get the real story
Damn you for saying this. I didn't notice until you mentioned it and now I cant unhear it. I can't even watch the interview now because I'm so annoyed with how many times she says "ye know" lol
Stephen Doran I think she's nervous. She's not use to being in front of the camera giving an interview about her brother. Chad Channing does the same thing, says ya know a million times when being interviewed about Kurt and his days in Nirvana.
It's called being interviewed for the public knowing millions of people are going to watch it and she's not used to being in the public eye. Such ignorance.

It sucks, it's sad and it's hard, but the only good thing I can really get out of it is a picture that I'll be sure to never paint in my future. Thanks for reading and replying. I didn't think anyone would.
My saying to parents if your fighting then don’t be a fucking idiot and give birth.
The golden child..good parents don't dump their children.
ive been flipped off by babies so many times. its bizarre.
Bahahhaa me too, what the hell?
Just like kurt
The first time an infant says "Fuck you!" via sign language is a strange event.
grounded for a year for forgetting to feed the dog? Are you fucking kidding? And without any reprieve?
I know right?? What the fuck
Welcome the pre 1990 kiddo.
i have a feeling it was his step mom, she didnt like kurt getting attention from his Dad. the step mom in my opinion was jealous how close kurt and don were, when you watch the interview with his dad and step mom and shes basically slamming kurt watch dons hand on the arm of the sofa when he squeezes it, hes clearly upset w/her.
Did you really believe in her? Please!
@@monstergod888 yes I do it's just as one of the few honest people the interview
I feel so sad for him after watching this Interview .. I used to do the same to my sister when i was younger lol
Kim is a lovely person
Kim seems real sweet and down to earth. Prob the most sane one in the whole family.
She used to bartend in my town and was indeed, absolutely sweet and nice
Kirk was always "flippin the bird" lmao...flippin the bird...
Her not getting any money from nirvana's legacy was a good thing. It allowed her to not get dragged from the toxicity it involved and could maintain a balanced memory of him.
Why is it that kurts sister who loved him more than any of them live the poor life when all the people who used him live like royalty umm
That's the way...of the world
Grounded for an entire year for not feeding the dog sounds like abuse to me. Poor Kurt.
I KNOW I DONT KNOW KIM BUT I LOVE HER
Kim ❤❤❤❤
"sit on my head and fart" lmao
that's cheered me up after the details about being excluded for punishment for a *year* at his Dads , wtf, horrible.
Bret Morgan had one chance and blew it. Blew the interviews blew the documentary blew the music
Daniel Malone I agree about the interview the ones he included were way too dramatic especially the ones with his mom which were obviously lies
But the music he nailed
The art and music went together perfectly
no it was done by his daughter if u dont know then dont say
robert reed lol keep telling yourself that
No Kim I "don't" know. I don't know anything about your family except for the fact that your brother is an absolute legend and will be remembered until the end of time.
Richard Schiffman wtf
Richard Schiffman wtf
Montage of Heck was shit, pure Courtney-sanctioned BS. But it's nice hear Kim's thoughts on her brother.
She’s said you know 168 times just so you know
thank you, you know.
Now I know
I know
I’m of that generation, and now many people use the word ‘like’, back then a lot of people said ‘you know’.
Lovely
he was grounded for a year? what the fling heck! the power brewing inside him
Awe man I see Kurt in her , it’s exhilarating and sad at the same time
I think Kim looks like Kurt in some ways. Likeness could be inherited, but attractiveness is just a pure luck 😁
Great interview. Weird camera angle.
She has the same laugh as Kurt
Peace !! Rx
She is so nice
"you know" just like Chad Channing jaja
For everyone that keeps making fun of her saying “you know”. Kurt, Don, and Chad did it too. It wasn’t just her.
She looks so cool.Feeling sad for her
lol I flipped my middle finger to my kindergarten teacher 😂😂😂 she got up and pulled me by my right ear and took me to the principals office and they called my mom and I got made fun of when we all had recess because I couldn't play and had to sit next to a classroom and I just sat watching the other kids play while I got laughed at😥😥😥
Wow the flying monkeys and that green witch freaked me out to as a child.
She sounds like Kurt at some points in the interview. I have missed him since the day he left this earth…..
yes... i know
Grounded for a year! geez for something that small starts to explain alot.
Hard to credit that there are people older than 30 who weren't even born when Nirvana broke into the scene.
"You know" .....
My dad left my mom for another man. And my mother blamed me for it because I was the oldest. I also picked on my little brother especially when he'd behead my Barbie dolls. 🤷♀️
That is horrible, what the heck.
Cheating on your wife period is bad but for another man, eh.
This woman is very attractive.
serve the servants.....I tried hard to have a sister but instead I had a dad.....Kurt.
„You know?”
The both talk so similar, count all the times she said "you know" then do the same with Kurt on an interview with him
“Y’know” is a Kurt thing. RIP
I don't get it....after watching heck I got the vibe that kurt and his sisters mother and father where selfish, both in different ways.....what I don't get is Kurt and his sister feel so opposite from them........... kurts sister seems so cool just like her big brother 💖
I know that Kim Cobain is gay. Does anyone know if it's true that Kurt's song "Been a son" was inspired by his sister? Thanks..
Yes Been A Son is exactly about her family not liking her as much because she is gay.
Kim is gay?
@@kingaxlrosesspiceandeveryt1719 Yes.
Anyway that's none of our business at all.
Lest anyone forget that "Everyone is gay!"
Hey i love these extended versions but why did you take down the Tracy Marander extended interview ? could you please reupload ?
Everything isn't free in this world
Cameramen i hope this days you can film from the front view
You don’t hear much of Kim krist Dave and her where the people who care most for him
I like this stories about Kurdt
No wonder Kurt didn’t like t.v.
Such an insane story of punishment. Imagine?
I wonder if Nirvana would of existed if his parents didn’t divorce?
porfabor , quien saca este video subtitulado en español, plis
She looks like a clever woman
They look alike but I think she favors don more
Same laugh
How many times she said "YOU KNOW"?
+D. Brown, are you interviewing me on RUclips,an international media? You know?
Dum da dum dum dumb
The least favorite human hey she is prob nervous..geez people
@@jnthemystIs that the opening few bars of the theme to Dragnet?
Wow what a POS Kurt's father was - grounded for a year for not feeding the dog? That's extreme!
Mommas boy
Having step siblings is a bitch u do nothing wrong try to get along but always pushed aside. Sounds like both parents pushed kurt away. Wish he was still here so we could get the real story
It must be hard for the sis
Alguien k me traduzca, lo agradecería
Definitely not real brother and sister! They must be step? Look nothing like each other
stop saying 'ye know' so much Kim my dear
Damn you for saying this. I didn't notice until you mentioned it and now I cant unhear it. I can't even watch the interview now because I'm so annoyed with how many times she says "ye know" lol
Stephen Doran I think she's nervous. She's not use to being in front of the camera giving an interview about her brother. Chad Channing does the same thing, says ya know a million times when being interviewed about Kurt and his days in Nirvana.
It's called being interviewed for the public knowing millions of people are going to watch it and she's not used to being in the public eye. Such ignorance.
@@jnthemyst Exactly!!!
