Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’ve been having spotting for up to 10 days before my period for at least 18 months! I’ve had multiple scans to rule out polyps, fibroids, etc.. and endless people poking around up there all to be told there’s nothing wrong. Unfortunately I’ve suffered multiple pregnancy losses (unrelated apparently) and it took my fertility doctor less than 5 seconds to tell me I had an ectropion cervix. The amount of relief I felt when I had a diagnosis was unbelievable. She used silver nitrate (totally painless) to keep the symptoms at bay, although I’ve still had spotting since, it’s just much less. I think I’ll end up going back to Colposcopy for a biopsy and further treatment if it continues but you sharing your story has helped me feel less alone with it, so thank you! Xx

I am so grateful for this. You literally just explained my entire experience and have never been diagnosed. I ended up getting a full hysterectomy at 28 years old because of this. I lost my chance to have more children over something so easily fixed. I pray to God no other Carl experiences what I went through. Videos like yours will change a person’s life for the better.

Thank you so much for this. My wife came back hpv negative and normal Pap smear. She has had inflammation and bleeds a lot after sex. She has PCOS and has been on the pill since she was 25 years old. The Dr took two biopsies today, and he told her based on what he sees, she has Cervical Ectropian. She has had normal Pap smears, so I pray things come back okay. Will keep you all posted and thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you, I’m so grateful for the NHS too. I’m 26 and been experiencing bleeding between periods for a few months but it’s gotten worse these last few days and heavier.. the go who saw me last week said she thinks it’s cervical erosions and maybe from taking the pill… crazy! She did her swabs and I find out my results on Monday! Hope your doing okay now! 🌸🍃

@@fatemaabbas1861 everything was okay, I guess the erosions solve themselves as when I went to hospital for my check they had vanished and they scanned my tummy and everything was fine. No explanation for the random bleeding but it’s been 6 months now and everything is back to normal, I guess our bodies can just do their own thing from time to time. Always get checked out though of course 💞

Really grateful you did this video. I have also been told I have ectropion, it’s been playing up today and making me stressed so good to know others having the same experience. I have had investigations done from my symptoms and so far nothing worrying found but it’s still scary when the bleeding happens. I am thinking I might ask for treatment if the bleeding gets worse so good to know what to expect 😊

Thanks for this. I tried searching for videos of women who were going through the same thing as me, but like you, I mostly just found medical videos that didn’t really resonate of weren’t that helpful. I have been struggling with bleeding and pain during I intercourse as well as spotting in between my period for a while now and I’m so thankful to finally have answers. It’s so mortifying having sex and turning on the lights and realizing “oh no, I bled again…What will he think?” It’s been a mega mood killer in my romantic life. Of course when I’m in a long term relationship my partner has been understanding at least. I got many ultrasounds and most recently an MRI because like you, they thought it could be a polyp or something only to have results come back completely polyp free and normal. It was only until I got referred to an amazing gynecologist that I finally got some answers. Right away when she took a look she was like “oh, you have cervical ectropion”. I wave of relief flooded me. I did the silver nytrate “burn” treatment (which wasn’t painful at all except for some mild camping afterwards, similar to a period cramp). I had to have two treatments and now everything seems to be back to normal (crossing my fingers!!) I don’t know really why I got this or what the cause was but I did notice some bleeding right when I started a new contraceptive called Nuva ring. I recently switched back to the pill to see if that might have been what caused it. Anyway, thanks for posting your video and spreading awareness. I appreciate you putting yourself through the slight embarrassment (which we truly shouldn’t be embarrassed about these things) to help other girls struggling with this. All the best :)

I was diagnosed with this a few months ago at a smear test, the nurse said it was probably caused by the pill
(I was on rigevidon for 6 years)
And for the last two or so years I’ve had pain during sex
I’ve got a doctors appointment booked, As I’ve been off the pill now for months and it hasn’t improved

I had a colposcopy, biopsy & it burnt away yesterday. This is my story….
I went to the doctors as I can bleed for upto four weeks and after sex if it’s within a week or two of finishing my period. I’d had this for 3+ years. Anyway the GP had a look at my cervix then once I was dressed she started stroking my arm and said I’m sorry to tell you but you have cervical cancer!!!!
She put me on the 2WW cancer referral. 16 days later at the hospital 2 doctors said straight away it’s ectropion not cancer! 16 days of hell for nothing! 6 weeks later (yesterday). Colposcopy showed nothing visual for cancer just ectropion. He took a biopsy anyway (just one) as he said he was going to treat it straight away and couldn’t biopsy after treatment. I still have to wait for the results which I believe are 8 weeks but I’m not worried at all now as the doctors aren’t!
I didn’t get any anesthesia but I felt nothing coughing. Only thing I felt was the heat slightly.
I so hope the bleeding stops and the pain like feeling winded during sex.
Thanks for the video hun as there isn’t much about it from a personal perspective 😢

So sorry you had to go through those 16 days of hell! Hope the recovery goes well and your symptoms ease 🤞🏼🤞🏼💓

Really helpful video thank you Millie🩷 I just got diagnosed with cervical ectropion today after encountering sudden sharp, painful intercourse for 3 weeks now. The doctor also found a lump to the left of the cervix…not sure what that’s about but will see what tests say. I was wondering after you get the cells lasered off the cervix, did the doctors mention if they could regrow out onto the external cervix area again? And thank you, needed your video for reassurance ☺️

Thank you so much for making this video, I’ve had ectropion for 4 years and always felt like no one else was going through this. I was wondering what contraception you are on if any? I changed to a progesterone only pill but it hasn’t helped so I think I may be in the same boat as you and I’m just naturally high in oestrogen.

    • @MillieWYT
      @MillieWYT  Год назад +1

I’m not on any contraception now as I realised it was having a negative effect on how I was feeling - I was on a low oestrogen pill for 6 years though. I think I have naturally high levels as I only developed ectropion after having about 2 years off the pill so that must have been the length of time it took my hormones to go back to their natural levels

I was referred to a gynaecologist who referred me to a colposcopy unit - it’s the colposcopy place that does the treatment. I believe it depends on your symptoms, as mine were bad the doctors knew I wanted it treated so you will need to ask to be referred :)

@@MillieWYT Your video really comforted me because I was having the same symptoms from the cervical ectropion but my gyn had advised me that this condition was normal and that they usually do not treat it but after seeing your video and doing more research, I was able to push them to do something about it. I just recently had a silver nitrate application put on the ectropion so I’m hoping for the best. It was suggested that if this doesn’t work, that I should try cryotherapy but my gyn stated that it could cause infertility. So I’m just trying to find more literature on safe treatments for it. And what really makes me sad is i had a inexperienced new female doctor who would scrape and scrape and SCRAPE mine till i was nauseous and in pain. When i switched doctors it was so quick! Iv had 4 biopsies or more over the years which just always comes back negative but causes more bleeding for months.. so many embarrassing moments during what should be romantic moments.. iv been left having to explain/apologize for why my body just does this sometimes..🤷‍♀️ when I don't even know how to explain it because my doctors didn't even explain it to me. Other then I'm different... wow. How do so many doctors not know how to spot this? I just found this video after watching the two you spoke of.
