    I always come to youtube with the specific purpose of watching something else, but then I see a thumbnail of a TeachMeGrappling Coach Brian video, and I think to myself "I'll just watch one of those." When I'm done watching 4 hours of Coach Brian's videos, I go back to the youtube homepage, but then I see a thumbnail of a TeachMeGrappling Coach Brian video...

      Have you been snaking the ankle? I use this sweep all the time now too haha. I've just been starting to get better at snaking the ankle. It's the thing about this move that's taken me longer to understand

    It just gets deeper, this sweep has so many applications and layers. I have to start trying it out and get a partner at my gym to drill the snot out of it with me

    I had no idea what I was looking at when I watched this as a newbie to BJJ two months ago... Gotta admit it’s still a little tough to conceptualize, but I know I got more out of it now than the first watch-through ;)

    Hi Coach, thanks for this content. I’m loving this sweep. But I have a question... there appears to be a moment just after the opponent in mount swings his leg over where he could roll the bottom player into an omoplata. I’m thinking if the top player reaches down and controls the elbow of the arm between his legs. Any thoughts?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  4 года назад

      You would have to pull the elbow completely in. It’s not really easy to do that.

  • @juntjoonunya9216

    This is a bit of a 'stanky' move but they're usually very critical positions.

  • @kirkdiesel8451
    @kirkdiesel8451 6 лет назад +1

    I use to do a variation of this , the top guy would start to sprawl and push his base away from my sweeping arm(inside his leg) then slide his overhook to waist to try a pass or sprawl then walk to north south?..any thoughts?

    • @aishinjiaolo
      @aishinjiaolo 6 лет назад +2

      Kirk Diesel, This is why the undertook arm around his waist is important. When he sprawls to break your the other arm between his legs, you can just cut the angle to his back . If he has the overhook on your undertook arm, you will get the dog fight at least. Then you can chose to spin back to this wedding sweep again or to play usual dog fights solutions.

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  6 лет назад +1

      Big key is the high bridge! It will help you cut the angle to his back. If you have an angle you’re fine. If he gets the angle toward north south and is breaking your grip, go back to the snake and start all over and it will work fine. I will do a video soon on how I deal with this.

    • @aishinjiaolo
      @aishinjiaolo 6 лет назад +1

      Thank you for the details, Coach Brian. The high bridge is really important here. I also found this high bridge have similar control mechanism with the ghost escape you shared earlier. These control really frustrates my training partner on the mat. Can't wait to see more details on the snake.

    This is like a new guard! Not really a 'guard'. Maybe 'the cradle'. Already taken. Well that didn't stop jj from taking 'armbar'. 'the wedding cradle'. Eddie's got 'rubber', Marcelo has 'x', and you can develop the 'wedding cradle' series., cuz sweeps will just be an option. You'll have subs from here. Maybe. Take some shrooms and you can come up with something. I seen you with long hair coach, dudes don't have long hair unless they've eaten shrooms or play guitar.
    Whoa! 11:11 I want what's in that guys Starbucks!
