Just wanted to clarify, apologies on not covering the Hunting Shotgun and it's sawn off variant. I originally intended to, but I couldn't get the sawn off to spawn in a reasonable amount of time. So I decided to omit them, but they will be covered in a short. They are statistically identical as their over/under counterparts.
I went into this playlist expecting a basic tier list of preferred guns. I really like the little history lesson about each piece. I appreciate the radius a bit more now
The 81 feels great to shoot especially if you have a stock to help you pump consistently but the spas is by far my favorite, the extra ammo capacity and being Semi-Auto makes it amazing
I love having a spas as my secondary primary on long missions. It mows through mimic areas with ease and i keep around 100 slugs in my pouch and it makes reloading it way easier then having to manually fill up my FN mags. Normally i use it after a fire fight if im low on mag ammo and I haven’t reloaded them yet.
I absolutely ADORE the SPAS-12 because I don’t use Shotguns for long range, so it makes for an amazing close-range beast. Plus on Nexus you can change it into a Benelli M4.
Man, imagine how much better of an option the sawn-off shotguns would be if you could just slide it into your sidearm holster. It would make it viable to pair with an all-rounder primary like an assault rifle or SVD, especially when clearing a building's corridors in tight CQC. It won't be able to pop a sniper on the roof, but it'll at least be a great fallback if something got too close without sacrificing a slot for your long gun. Though then again you can melee them at that point... So it'd really just be an "Oh shit!" weapon for Sliders.
Even tho into the radius is near its end, I still hope they add a revolver. A good one for endgame would the rsh-12. Just a giant hand canon. That or a nagant revolver
Another good rundown, and I agree about the IZh-81, especially after the nice upgrades the shotguns have available (they might have the best upgrade possibilities out of all the different weapon types in the game). And once ya know where that stash is, it's so easy to pop in over there early in a new playthrough and then have maybe the best shotgun in the game.
From what I understand, it's only the Quest standalone version where the Saiga stash is locked behind the final mission. In the PC version, if you're willing to make the trek, you can get it anytime by reaching through the barred doorway in Castle. No cheating or exploits necessary.
Damn synth, that's some nice testing. Now that you mentioned it would be nice if the range had some plaques showing the target distances or at least a rangefinder
I still love the sawn off, despite its poor performance. Running up to a mimic when they need to reload and filling them point blank with shot is so satisfying. Besides that, I love the Saiga's design, it's an AK that shoots shotgun ammo.
Thank you so much for your hard work putting these videos together and putting in the work to find, sort, and present such detailed work into a very digestible and easy to understand format. Keep it up boss. You're why I bought ITR and I have not had more fun
Great review of the shotguns! However ridiculous it may seem, one of my favotite guns in the game is the short side by side shotty. Maybe I only like it because of it's rarity. It's really only useful for the fun factor, but it feels much better in-game than the IZH over/under shorty somehow. Keep the great content coming!
The IZh-27 long is basically my go to for shotguns. It just slams into fools like nobody's business, especially with slugs, for a cheap 12 gauge you can purchase early.
Another EXCELLENT comparison vid, BUT you didn't even mention the two side by side shotguns, yes, they cannot be bought and only obtainable in crates or a stash but you could have mentioned them. Don't forget that all shotguns are eclipsed by even a ppsh short😀😀
I was planning to include them, but I just for the life of me couldnt find the side by side shorty. And I didn't want to delay the video any longer than I already had. I will cover them, maybe in a short once I get my hands on the shorty
There is another shotgun it’s a sawn off shotgun it is hard to get but you know those boxes with the green lights on them? It’s a gray one and I found it in this construction site it spawns rarely it’s like whenever one of the entities like the “mimic” officer it’s a hunter and you’ll see him have a sawn off shotgun double barrel too.
i might have missed it, but why wasnt the Hunting Shotgun, or the other Sawed-Off (not the izh-27) included here? i am so curious how the hunting shotgun stacks up against the full IZh. great content as always man
I wanted to, but I was having horrible luck getting the shorty to spawn. So I decided to omit them instead of delaying the video even more than I had. They are statistically identical to their over/ under counterparts. Just different models.
About horizontal double barrel (full & sawn-off). Yes you can't take them in shooting range in 2.x versions, and chance to find them toooo low. But you can play 1.0's shooting range just to take a picture. Just put "Ижевск" and "Иж" in Google's translator and vocalize it
The pump action is actually the most accurate im the whole game even more then the izh27 because the pump action shotgun has such tiny bullet drop that with slugs you can make insane snipes if you add a scope you can look snipe from one end of KZ to the other
Just wondering why you didn't touch the Boomstick and the Elephant gun you get in the game. It's the side-by-side barrel often seen cut down in gangster movies while the over-under one is commonly seen being used by duck hunters.
It took longer than expected to get the video out, I wanted to include the side by side shotguns but I just couldn't get the shorty to spawn so I decided to omit them. Im going to cover them in a short
@@Synthetizard Awesome, I know you can't buy them and have to do repairs when you find them, though I had luck in the Bolotky warehouse for those guns. Will watch for next short.
If only the Spas 12 had the extendable stock to come with. Would 100% make it feel better to use even if it isnt great. But boy does it feel good to spam buckshot at a slider up close😂😂😂😂😂
There's a shotgun that's called the hunting rifle whoch looks very similar to the IZh-27 but instead of the one barrel being on top of the other they're side to side. It can't even be bought in the shop only found somehow. Edit: it's a secret stash that I'm interested to share with anyone who wants to know :) Edit 2: its in kolkhoz zarya in the zig zag building in the outside there should be square blue metal fence near the entrance just to the left of it, just turn left and go through the door and behind it the shotgun will be there along woth three boxes of slugshot that may or may not be full of ammo
I can’t use the Izh-27 the sawed off or the full version, for some reason both like to act like my controllers lose tracking and idk how to fix it, IT’s definitely the guns cuz I’ve never lost tracking
spas when using slugs is statisticly the best shotgun out of all of the options unless you really like mags, then the siaga takes the cake, so why the low rating?
It's expensive, and by the time you unlock it shotguns generally aren't great options, even with slugs. Also bare in mind that I rate these according to my playstyle

Thank you
I have managed to pick up the Saiga without having the last mission active or available. But you reaaaaaally gotta reach in between the bars.
I didn't even think to try that, not gonna lie
I did the same, not sure I got all the mags though (they’re kind of hidden underground nearby)
Lol same
I just stood very close to the bar and pressed "unstuck", then I was on the other side. Works on the Gate too after the main game ends. 😉
Saiga is not there for me. Anyone knows something ?
Your quest for accurate distance measurement was nothing less than impressive. Very Innovative solutions!
ITR2 is out but I still watch these, because I just love numbers and frying my brain.

Im excited for the security lv 0 gun run. Fighting through the very last room with a pm using +p and a scoped sawed off is going to be great.
I love how you layed out like 30 aks just to get a range xD

Agreed, and also it just feels awesome to use. In my opinion more so than any other shotgun

I respect that, I do also have a soft spot for the side by sides
I am INCREDIBLY jealous that you have an actual AKM, ngl. Hopefully I can get my hands on one eventually. They're awesome.
They simply need to add full auto to the siaga and it be a blast to use
Agreed, and a drum mag for it
I wish Id known about that shell holder reload trick sooner, that wouldve been so damn helpful
I like the iszh 81, with a red dot and slugs. It’s an armor penetrating budget rifle 😂
Also the Siga 12K in Castle also comes with three 10 round mags

Oh a question, does the spread matter if you're running slugs?
Spread is only for buckshot, slugs has no spread.

Technically I did when I said it has mag sizes in 5 or 10 rounds, but youre correct I didnt go into detail on them

bro forgot the other duble barrels
Says it’s buckshot but it feels like birdshot
Nah buckshot actually feels pretty good, at least against unarmored threats
I just don't find shotgun very effective in this game. Rifles are better in every situation.
Tdh the Izh-81 is quite good for sniping enemies if you put a scope on it
3:08 OK goober
I made that so much harder than it had to be
you can find 20 round siega mags in metal boxes in factory and kolkozs and it’s pronounced se-ga not si-aga
