Im not watching anything in particular. Im just consuming a lot youtube. Im so happy to hear you are feeling better. I just made the cutest blouse without a pattern! Im so proud of it!
Oh that’s amazing!! I’m also proud of you!
Finally finished my waistcoat for Elizabeth Swann and I'm in the final steps of completing a Dead Man's Chest prop to have at Anime Midwest next weekend. The hat is so cute!
Oooo that cosplay sounds fun!!
Simply happy to see you. And a story from long ago: back in the 70s in South Florida, we called certain hats “Herb” and “Hilda” hats. A “Herb” hat was a fabric bucket hat frequently worn by older male retirees in Florida and the woman’s version, “Hilda”, was a brimmed straw hat with artificial flowers. But I’m sure your ‘Hilde’ hat will be very useful, just please don’t attach any artificial flowers 😂. It just reminded me of long ago.
💖💖
Love that hat!! I'm busy in my garden, canning my heart out and making lots of bread and puff pastry...I've been on a baking kick. Lota of fresh berry turnovers and savory stuff with fresh garden veggies.
Oh that all sounds so wonderful!
Frayed would look cute in denim!
that came out so cute! definitely a good project :) I'm working on an entire ADHD room full of wips (sob) but a couple notable mentions are a tea gown type garment (think robe but not terry cloth) and carefully rebinding an older "needlecraft" type book that has all kinds of amazing info on all kinds of fiber arts but was well loved by the people who had it before me and arrived falling apart. Content I'm consuming has been a lot of anti-mlm youtube (especially Hannah Alonzo), Bridgerton, Psych, and Doctor Who.
What an awesome project to restore that book!
Cute Hat! Best serotonin burst of video: hearing you are feeling slightly better. Only thing I’m watching is tech of which actors are wearing what armor in all the Henry 6 timeline 😵💫 and doing SDCC prep.
Oh I hope you have a wonderful time at sdcc!!
What a great hat! Glad you are feeling better, hope that continues. ☺ I am currently down an Anne Perry Inspector Monk reading rabbit hole, and am about to restart my yearly Wheel of Time audio book pilgrimage! Watching lots of gardening, cross stitching, and costuming RUclips, and the fantastic Season 2 of Interview With The Vampire.😍
I really need to get on the wheel of time books and also the interview with a vampire show!!
Love this hat. I am going to try to do this too!. Thank you. Glad you are taking care of yourself.😊
The hat looks great! It also answered a question I had been mulling over on a hat for a friend never thought of fleece on both sides! Thanks for that.
I'm behind on RUclips cause ideas 're-listening to a book series to get ready for the new one! I out all that in the next video!
So glad to hear that you're doing better!
I hand stitched a similar hat (free how to draft here on youtube) a couple summers ago. It was a fun project but it kept blowing off my head at inopportune moments. The large brim was like a sail lol. Hope your hat stays on and protects you from the sun!
Love the hat! We've introduced my son to Doctor Who, and he's really into it. We're currently working through Ten and Donna. Tomorrow starts my weekend sewing retreat, and I added yet another project to work on while I'm there, so we'll see how much I actually get done.
Ooo I’d love to hear about your retreat when you get back!
Also, yay for recovering faster! Hopefully this is a trend in the right direction
Me too!!!
Very cute hat!!! Watching Sunny on Apple TV, just started listening to the new season of Ultra from Rachel Maddow. Glad you’re feeling better!!!!
Thank you!!
I love the hat 🥰 it's so super cute 😊
I'm not really watching anything, just rereading an old fanfic lol
I hope your kitties are doing well and that you feel better soon.❤
Thank you! 😊
It is good to see you, Noel. Your new hat is so well done and cute! I am working on mending clothes, practicing my illustration skills and eating the first BLT sandwiches of the Summer. I am reading Redwall and The Count of Monte Cristo Watching all the classic Summer movies; The Sandlot. Jumanji, Now and Then. Ricky Ticky Tavy,, Dirty Dancing ect. Lastly, I am listening to Beach Music and Motown - 70"s music on repeat.
That all sounds like heaven!
I'm rewatching Winx club while I work on my (hopefully) final version of my ball jointed doll. Listening to Mother Florence and some new metal bands. One of them is called Windrose, they dress and make songs like they were dwarves in Middle Earth.
Glad you're feeling better, wishing you a full and speedy recovery
I am for sure checking out windrose right now! 🤣😂
What a cute project. Great thing to do with some of the weird little offcuts I've collected. Like that rainbow unicorn quarter I picked up at the dollar store LOL
...though that does mean I'll have to go to the store and get interfacing... and I feel like my mother in-law would like one too.
But first I need to get the pocketses in my Victorian Walking Skirt (brown striped wool with paisley lining) and make swimsuits. If I can get any of my machines to behave. Also doing Bee Things, we've got 5 hives this year and are hoping to catch some swarms to bulk things up a bit.
Glad to hear you're on the mend! Last month my physiotorturist gave me an exercise that shortcuts all the stupid things I usually have to do in the morning to have a functional spine, so I guess I've had a boost in recovery time too! Yay for getting better!
Yay for getting better!! I’m so happy to hear that you got a good shortcut!!
I'm gluing fabric to headbands to help a friend with a massive project. Wheeeee
That’s very kind of you!
Immediate watch! That hat is going to be so cute!
💖💖
Great series of books to binge listen to - Charles Holborne Legal Thrillers by Simon Michael, set in 1960s London with loads of historical references, including those cheeky chappies, the Kray twins, popping up. Really worth the listen! I have just finished all 9 and had a couple of email chats with the author, who was as disgusted as we were about England's performance in Eurocup. I digress! Wonderful hat now on my to-do list. You look great in yours. ❤
I'll check it out! And thank you!
I’m glad to hear your recovery time is improving! And the hat is adorable!
Personally, I’m working on a beautiful white romper for my nephew’s baptism in a couple weeks, and it’s got a cute little faux vest that’s going to be pale turquoise. It’s McCall’s M6221 view E, if anyone is curious. There are some really cute photos of other people’s finished makes up on pattern review.
That’s so cute!!!
"Ello friend. To the end. Working on a coquelicot skirt, hemming a chemise. Listening to Seamwork Radio. Rewatching The Witcher.
Such a fun summer project and a very cute hat! Also thanks for the erasing! 😂👌🏻💕
Of course!! I’ll try and remember when I can!
You enjoyed making it and I enjoyed watching you make it ❤ all the joys ❤
Thanks so much 😊
You sound like you feel better too. Sending positive energy your way.
Thank you!!
What a wonderful video and a great hat!! Also glad you're feeling better. That is wonderful news all on its own. 🎊🥳🎉😃
Thank you, friend! 💖
Noelle, I’m so glad to see you. I’m glad you are still sharing your projects now that post pandemic life is mostly over.
I hope you get the chance to do all the traveling that you had planned before the pandemic derailed your plans.
Hats!!! Glad you are doing well. Thank you for being detailed on the instructions. Am I adding making this hat possibly four or five times to my list? Yes. Thank you for motivating the hat collection.
Sounds great!
That really is some cute material. What an awesome hat!! And I’m glad you’re feeling better to _whatever_ degree.❤
Thank you! 😊
Glad to heat that you are feeling better. Continue recovery.
Thank you!
Love the hat! It suits you very well, and I'm thinking I need one in purple. :D You're right, the brim would make a fun quilting project - you could even do some embroidering on it for funsies. :D Can I just say how adorable your words are with "ooch" - I haven't heard that in years! As far as activities, I'm 18000 words into my upcoming novel due to editor by July 10 and I'm not supposed to be watching videos but OMG, have to take a break. When I'm done with that I have to dive into proofreading for several friends for our shared element fantasy series that comes out with the first book on July 10. Whew. Thanks for sharing your projects with us! Always love seeing your latest video!
I think you need one in purple too! And yay upcoming novel!!!!
I've not been a hat wearer in a while, but this one's so cute. After I have some better sewing fundamentals, I want to give it a try. I think I'll make bandanas for a bit first. Glad to hear your stamina and recovery times are improving.
Bandanas are also great projects!!
Great sun hat! I could defintely see myself wearing one on yard duty at school - sun safety is no joke here. While watching this I was working on a knitted cowl for my 2.5yo so she doesn't make a mess of the one I made with hand-dyed yarn. I've also got lots of baby knitting with 2 niblings due to make their arrivals in the next month or so!
Whoa! Congrats and I wish you as good of a sleep schedule as can be hoped for!
Oh my god! What a cool pattern who would fit my gigantic head! No hat in the women's section of any store fits me. And a lot of patterns are too small as well. This one would fit me!!!
You should try it!!
Working on flossing a corset during watching your video. Been re-listening to Son of the Black Sword, and watching The Legend of Korra for the first time. I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better! Don't push yourself too hard! ❤
I’ve been watching you figure out that flossing! It’s so pretty!!
Happy you're feeling better. Looking forward to getting both feet x-rayed. I miss shoes.
Not really watching a lot of stuff. I'm listening to music -- whatever comes to mind because I'm trying to psych myself up to do some writing.
And perpetually refolding the stash to get all this fabric put away, and get my tables cleaned off.
Oh I hope the x rays come out good!!
I'm glad you're doing better! That's great news. Also agree that the hat is super cute. I also like the clouds.
I reread (listened to) Super Powereds for like the 10th time and have been reading every day for the summer reading challenge through the county library system. I've also been pretty stressed out recently so listening to comfort books was a big help (stupid bugs.... I had to move everything in my apartment and heat treat or clean and bag up everything not furniture so my apartment could be sprayed. At least I can undo the disaster at my leisure. I'm not exactly a maximalist or hoarder, but I have a lot of things I keep because I grew up poor and throwing them away feels wrong...well, a lot of them had to go. *sigh* c'est la vive, I suppose).
My cat wants me to go to sleep....I think that's what his digging at the carpet and rolling around is meant to convey (more he wants me to *brush* him before I go to bed is more accurate). I hope you keep feeling better and all that jazz ^^
Thank you and I hope you are bug free ASAP!! 💖💖
Oh, that's cute! I need a new hat- have to check out the pattern. Thanks!
It’s such an easy pattern!!
Happy you are starting to get better. I hope that you keep getting better.
Thank you! I hope so too!
Very cute my fair friend! I like the bigger brim too.
Thank you 🤗
I'm with you, I like the crossing off the list part. ! hat is adorable.
Yay, thank you!
Aaannnnddd...you could draft a pointy crown and make a witch's hat!
Absolutely!
This hat is so cute! Love your fabric choices. Have you thought about putting grommets in the crown to help your head stay cool in the hat?
I have now!! 😂🤣🤣 thanks!!
I'm mending my silk sheets. I love them and am not ready to let this set go.
Good call!!
i really love the hat and want to make one for myself . i'm a HUGE fan of your videos and you inspire me to sew my own clothes . love you a lot.
Awww thanks and let me know if you end up making the hat!!
I think that may be the cutest sunhat, the fabric is adorable & the hat is the perfect size to keep the sun off. I may just make myself a few & get rid of the crappy one I have, thanks for showing us Noelle.
You should! It’s a simple enough process! I’m going to make a bunch for my friends!
Busy on the farm I haven’t made things in ages unless building chicken coops counts. That hat looks super great, I would enjoy making one when I have time, m straw hat has been getting beat up and sometimes washable would be handy!
Building chicken coups totally counts!!
What a great idea, thank you! Such a cute hat and useful.
Thanks!!
Good to see you feeling better. I was recently binging Karolina Z’s podcast Textory. And teaching myself Tunesian crochet.
Oh wow! That’s awesome!
Hi, cute hat, I'm crocheting a shawl for a friend for Christmas, ❤
Oh how nice of you!
So cute! I've been thinking about a hat like this since I, too, am of the pale variety of human, and I've been gardening on the roof of my building which has zero shade. Sunscreen is problematic for me so hats are a necessity. I like this one a lot.
Sounds great! You should try it!
Ohhh!! Super cute! I definitely want to make one for myself.
You should!
Professional results!
Glad to hear you are recovering more quickly! I’m not really watching anything but I’m making a Scroop blouse and it’s really fun. I added some simple machine embroidery and it makes me want to have a machine that can do more of that. Need to run and make the hat and also that butterfly blouse.
The hat and the butterfly blouse are both awesome!!!
It's great....and if I wore it I'd look like Wurzel Gummige. Just like I do in every hat.
💖💖💖
So cute! Glad you are feeling better. Watching Doctor Who, reading the Odd Thomas series by Koontz, trying to catch up with my monthy quilt block subscription. Take care.
Quilt block subscription! That sounds fun!
@@Costuming_Drama It's a mystery story and quilt. Each month gives a chapter and a block, then at the end you put the quilt together and try to figure out who-done-it.
Omg that’s so fun!!!!
Best of wishes for the summer, your videos are always great❤
Thank you! And best wishes to you as well!
Super cute hat, I love the idea with the clouds! I'm currently watching Grantchester
Oh I’ve been wondering how that show is!!
@@Costuming_Drama I quite enjoy it so far. Its got that typical cozy british crime vibe going on an I think the characters are very lovable and it is just my sense of humor. But season 2 (i think) took an unexpected turn and messed me up really bad so watch with caution
I was watching you’re video…when you were fusing the brim…I noticed that when you added the steam…it sounded like the iron was sneezing…lol
Hahahaha it does!
Cloud hat - cute! I got into wearing hats in 2019 and i rarely go out without one now. I hope it keeps you nice and cool and safe in the sun, the weather is so unpredictable now its easy to overheat. I accidentally dehydrated myself last week 😅 even though i know better. Im watching star trek enterprise - im not feeling the 'click' with it yet but T'Pol is worth every second 😍 so i don't mind at all! Glad to hear you're doing a bit better recently - long may it continue 🤞🤠
Oh I thought enterprise was very soothing to watch. I hope it clicks soon!!
@@Costuming_Drama im certainly not giving up 😁. I just finished watching voyager (loved it!) so it may just be that its a bit jarring to suddenly go so old-school. But i do really like how the ship is more like a modern spacecraft than the sleeker futuristic ships from other series. It feels quite perilous, but also so full of the wonder of new things. Just watched the episode with risa, lol, 😅. It certainly was a lot rougher back then compared to the paradise it becomes!
Great hat. I am listening to Good to the last death series by Robyn Peterman.
Ooo I’ll check that out!
Glad you're getting better. It can take forever. My profits still very slow.
Cute hat! Now I want to make a few hats. I have so remnants and scraps here and there so it wouldn't cost me much.
Am making an above the knee Ponte knit skirt with side pocket. After that, I will.some 70s inspired long collar blouses.
Ooo that sounds like a set of great projects!
I love it, it's cute!!! Far cuter than an ordinary bucket hat!! I'm making Regency bonnets for a production of Sense & Sensibility as I watch you. Just realised I have to rip the crown out of the current one and redo but hey ho!
Ooo that’s fun! I hope the production goes well!
Listening to Through the Griffin Door by Super Carlin Brothers and I’m crocheting on number 6 and 7 of the Wonderland Wrap free pattern from Hobbii.
Ooo that sounds like fun!
@@Costuming_Drama Did a head count and realised thta I´m working on number 8 and 9… As you can tell it’s my go to pattern when I need something to do with my hands.
Great hat! I might have to make one because I am ghost coloured in a country with a recovering ozone layer hole above it. I'm watching Renegade Nell once again, listening to "The Truth Shall Make Ye Fret" a Terry Pratchett podcast, and reading some trashy romantasy because I have low spoons...
Apparently the ozone hole is getting better faster that anyone expected! So at least there is that! 💖
what a cute hat! and I"m glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope that will continue!
My "project" right now is decluttering and cleaning my flat. I struggled with my mental health for years, and right now I have a phase with a bit more energy so I try to get it to a point I feel comfortable with (couldn't do the bare minimum for some time so its no fast project and I have a chronic muscle disease so energy is still limited - but I take one step at a time and that's more than none!)
Maybe I should rewatch RoP too. I dont watch many series - in fact RoP was the last thing I saw (at its release... nothing since then) but I am really curious about the next season.
Oh decluttering is so satisfying!! I hope getting your space in a way that makes you more happy will help with mental stuff too! I know it does for me!
That hats adorable.
Thank you!
Your hat turned out so cute! I'm going to pick up this pattern!
Oooh I didn't realize a second season for Rings of Power was coming soon so I'm adding a season 1 rewatch to my to do list 💕
I hope you enjoy the pattern and the rewatch!
You are such a hat girlie! Great hat!
Oh thank you!
I’m going to have to come back and get this hat! I’ve been wanting something similar but I can’t find “none boring ones” so, this could be great to make with some fun fabrics I have.
That sounds great!0
I'm working on leveling my sewing. I just did a full bust adjustment for the first time. The pieces are cut out and now I just have to put it together to see if it worked! I'm reading the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. I started on the 4th book, cuz I didn't know it was a series and now I've finished book 1 and on to 2. I like it so far. They are quick reads.
Oooo yes, Morgan and I read that for our podcast!
SUPER CUTE!! listening to Alice Network, working on so many things at once but not getting anywhere with any of them :D
Hahahaja sometimes it for like that and then all of the sudden everything is done at once!
Hat adorable you adorable ❤
💖💖
Woo TPWKY! Love them so much. I'll fully admit, even as an infectious disease nerd, I wasn't able to listen to most of the COVID episodes in real time - it just made me way too anxious. (I also had to stop reading all my disease books, and man, there's nothing like having a dozen books you can't even open when the library is closed to just make you sad.) Have you come across any episodes that just make you shout "What?!" - I've had several.
Oh for sure! The measles one that erases your immune system memory blew my mind!!!
That is a lovely hat. I already have many hats but maybe it is time for a new one. I am very pale skinned and get sun stroke and burns easily.
I am knitting a lace scarf, i started it months ago but it got interrupted when i had a health issue and needed something simple to knit, like 6 garter stitch chickens...
Maybe it is time for a new one!! 😂
Love that hat!!! There are so few black hats like that. Might consider making some 😊
HELL YEAH! (Me too)
I think I need a dry erase board. I have a similar system as yours but in a notebook, and out of sight out of mind, ya know? Also, I love how you call the description "the basement." Also, currently watching The Sopranos and Miami Vice because I'm going through a cultural icon phase and reading the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.
White board for life!!! Get one! They are so useful!
You could do the quilting on the brim with sashiko thread - that would be cute and wouldn't drive you up the wall (maybe just me?)
I went to see Green Day in concert last week and I'm still recovering from that (yay chronic illness!) so my crafting time has taken a nose dive!
Yes, but also Green Day! Wooo!
@@Costuming_Drama it was so good!
Your hat is such a nice hat! :)
Oh thank you!
😀what a great hat!🌻😀
I just finished hand making a set of "eyes" (to match some hooks), out of paperclips & wire working tools. As you may know, the hooks come with only half enough round eyes these days, and, the same of the bar-type not-eyes.
Mostly I watch videos these days.
That sounds fun!
@@Costuming_Drama it was fun some of the time, but, satisfying all the way through, even with challenges. Now I have the shape I want & I know I can make more! I love that!
sweet project
Thank you!
It’s so cute 🥰
Thanks! 💖
Very cute. Is there sizing available in the pattern. My head is generally too big for ‘average’ women’s sizes. Glad to see you recovering.
Yes!! It has multiple sizes in the pattern and it looks pretty easy to size up from there if you need to!
Is the inside material not making the hat to warm in very sunny/high temperatures weather?
Nope because the outside material is bouncing all the light off of it!
I might have to try this! I have such a large head I usually have to buy men's hats which are always blue or khaki coloured :(
You should! You could absolutely adjust this pattern easily too!
I might need one (three? five?) of these hats. :) They would work great for my work. Watching: Rewatching Foyle's war on Acorn (Love all the 40s fashions!) Working on: Just finished a 1940s blouse and now I'm making a 1940s shirtwaist dress (its actually a skirt and blouse but it will look like a full dress. :)) Reading: Yet another Suspenseful Romance. :) And anxiously waiting for the next book by my fav author Samantha Young to come out Aug 8th. No upcoming evets for me so I'm really just hiding for the heat in my house. I'm in central CA so we are getting temps in the 100+ category. Thankfully we now have a window AC in the room I sew in. :)
Omg so HOT!!! And yes! These hats are fun and easy to make!
Great summer hat! You did a very nice job. Good decision to hand sew the crown band because it looked much nicer. (Sometimes, I think edge stitching is over-rated.) Watching Hallmark Mystery Christmas movie week and reading "Steeped to Death" by Gretchen Rue from the local library, which will be followed by "The Ravens of Blackwater" by Edward Marston borrowed from Kindle Unlimited. And, that will be followed by "The Great Abraham Lincoln Pocket Watch Conspiracy," by Jacopa della Quercia, which I bought today from Amazon for my Kindle. I recently read "Starter Villain" by John Scalzi and can recommend it. I disagree with the author's take on dolphins, but love what he did with cats. Hope your new job is going well. I've been offline since late April owing to various Wi-Fi and computer challenges so I'll be catching up with your previous vlogs.
Oh thank you for all the new books to check out!!
That’s great news! I think I’m going to try this hat. Just wondering if the quilted aspect of the hat makes you feel warm when wearing it?
Nope, cuz no part of that is touching you. It’s just there for structure!
Are you a Bridgerton fan? I have a bunch of friends into it but I haven't been able to yet. I am making cloaks for my nieces and nephews for SCA events. They all had polyester fleece ones when they were kids but now that they're young adults I'm making them actual wool cloaks.
Bridgerton isn’t really my jam, although I think the costumes are fun! I’m just really not into romance stuff…
To quote ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’:
“Millinery?”
“What’d you say to me?”
“Hats!”
“Oh!”
😂🤣
This company has a pair of pants me really want to make
#4004 high waist pants. They look so nice
Make them!!! This company has SUCH good instructions! They will be a breeze!
@@Costuming_Drama just need afford the pattern first. Had a few hard months with all skit breaking that I need
Boy howdy do I feel that!
@@Costuming_Drama and just before me left for a dance week fun thats expensiv but done it yearly for 22 year bow more skit broke. Me sew pants in eh i think next year due to get a new bathroom soon so not going to be home alot. Atleast me made the dance event better in years and is acculy decent feeling rigth now after it. I even danced more every day then planned and still working decent when home again. My fibromyalgi complein but not made me close to bedbound so are so happy for how much the last 6 months of training have helped. Never will be "normal " body but like this in amount me could do things and feel after me can deal with becouse love going. Also my masqurade custume worked out great and me looked great in it
Currently watching an anime called "Black Clover" Seems pretty fun so far. Working on a summer dress and a pair of overalls and need to get off my bottom to finish both, but ARK CALLS ME because DINOS
YAY DINOS!
Hat!
HAT!!
Ooh I would love to make this hat. One problem: the interfacing and fusible fleece mentioned in the pattern are really hard to find where I am, and I don't really know what good alternatives are. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
I’m very sure you could use regular fleece and just baste it in, or any other somewhat stiff materials you have to add some loft!
@@Costuming_Drama Ah that's great, thank you!
💜💜💜💜
💖💖
Nicely done. I usually quilt by hand anyway, so no big. Glad it went well. Making a black petticoat for my new black Regency dress. Watching Interview with a Vampire. It's good. Check it out.
The tv series? I’ve heard great things about it!!!
@@Costuming_Drama Yes, the TV series on AMC+. There is also a show called the Mayfair Witches in the same world. I've also heard that a show called the Talamasca is coming from that world as well.
I am reading/listening to a great non-fiction book, that is about supporting our trans youth, but from the perspective of a children's psychiatrist. Has a great balance of research-based information, and personal experiences. The author was recently on Dr Mike's podcast.

I’ll check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!
How hard do you think it would be to scale this pattern up for those of us with Megamind-esque noggins?
I don’t think very hard at all!
