Oh wow never knew u could add alcohol to koulourakia not sure if my mum did when I was growing up, should duck out to the shop and grab me a bottle, love how u roll them into a ball then poke them with your finger to create a hole as opposed to rolling them out.

Why the liqueur? Does it give flavour or does it help with the chemistry?
Greeks, Portuguese. We add Liqueur to everything, even fruit salad! Makes everything taste extra! 😜

If i don't drink can I replace the liquor with sparkling water?
I would imagine you could omit and add water instead but alcohol evaporates in cooking/baking, if that is a concern.
