This a cool car as long as you have no road trips and have a charging station at home. If I was rich, this would be my town car so long as I did not have to go to a charging station. From my experience, charging at charging stations is an invitation to get assaulted. Panhandlers have found charging stations….and some of them are basically robbers….tapping on your windows, waiting for you to emerge to remove the cable from your car. My wife is totally creeped out at charging stations.

Actually, Doug’s video feed consisting of mostly electric SUV brightly shows the current depressive state of the modern car industry. And few older cars like v12 SL Merc or track focused Ferrari shows how deeply it actually has fallen in recent few years
Don't worry. I'm sure it won't be too many more years before they discover that buttons and knobs exist again. Especially since they use significantly less power than a touchscreen.

I’m not an SUV buyer but I prefer this model’s design over the sedan. The thing I find most disappointing with EV’s is that the “skateboard” platform allows for nearly unlimited styling options yet we’ve (I’ve) not yet seen anything really striking or innovative.
The gorgeous hyper screen may looks state-of-the-art today, but will become so out-of-date in a few year. People should realize that their display will be the first things that goes out of style on any new cars. Too bad you can't update the OS/display.
THIS is a nice car but I can't wait for the review when you get your hands on the new Polestar 3! That's going to have all the quirks and features to make it a top tier vehicle.
Actually look GOOD compared to the sedan version, which is a bulbus mess for a 100K+ car. If you are willing to spend that amount of money, that hyper screen is a must. It looks so futuristic!
Yeah, kind of reminds me of Enterprise D on Star Trek TNG, the whole bridge and ship were full of giant touch screens everywhere...or at least that's how it was made to look. But Trek shows always predicted future trends, from flip phones and flat screens, to Pontiac/Chevy/Oldsmobile's Trans Sport/Lumina/Silhouette and Toyota Previa minivans from the 1990s in their shuttle craft designs.
2:30 - I don't think you need to mention that each new EV "is fast-charging capable" any more. They all are. (With *extraordinarily* few exceptions, mostly on tiny "city cars" that aren't even sold in North America.) Mentioning how long to add 100 miles, add 200 miles would be more useful than just saying it's "fast charge capable" and the 0-80% recharge time, since vehicles with wildly different ranges 0-80% time can be similar for completely different distances that's adding.
The S-class is a beautiful car. It has the road presence of an AIRCRAFT CARRIER. But the EQS SUV makes more sense for people who have places to charge.
Imagine they had hired Lucid to do the drivertrain. There would have been space for a 300-400 liter frunk. Or a same size wiper fluid tank. Range would have been better, especially in winter. Made in USA, right? Like the R-Class was. Not the best idea? Or...?
A luxury SUV with characteristics of both a coupe and an SUV is the Mercedes-Benz GLC . It has a variety of engine options, including diesel and gasoline engines, as well as the choice of a hybrid powertrain. The car's interior is roomy and equipped with high-end materials and cutting-edge technology, including the MBUX infotainment system, cutting-edge driver assistance systems, and cutting-edge safety measures. There are several trims of the GLC , each with a different level of luxury and amenities.

Hmm... I think the idea of a fragrance @ 4:24 is a good one, if someone lets out a particularly nasty fart in the car or a passenger has excessive body odour that's a solution. If you drive through a section with a broken sewerage system (in some cities it's a problem) and have to roll the windows up after the nasty smell has already gotten in that helps too. Wonder what inspired this feature 😄 More cars should have it though. Neat.
The BMW iX is a way better value and is cooler looking. 200+ more horsepower, standard AWD plus it has better range at 320 miles. And it costs quite a bit less. I would imagine it handles better as well and the ride is probably equally smooth.

@@gallo2432 Lol. Yes, he stopped the video for a few while we looked at it. We loved it. We picked it because it was black on black. The light-colored interior gets dirty easy. We didn't need a third row seat. So that suv had many upgrades including those wheels. We love it. We don't need the 580, the mileage will suck on that one.
Why are all the german car manufacturers incapable of making a good looking electric car.
E-Tron in the right color seems the exception.
The bmw i4 is pretty cool
@@Chunkiemerk eh it's just an m3 design reused, keeping the ugly ass nostrils when they aren't even for airflow is insane, plus it has the god awful "m" version
*Awesome review Doug!*
One thing I don’t like is they torture you by making you swipe on piano black finishes. I assume that car only looks good the first hour you have it.😂
Customers: We want beautiful cars with physical buttons!
Car Companies: Best we can do is ugly SUVs with the bridge of the starship Enterprise.
Doug is the kind of guy who looks like a Pontiac Aztek
these are played out. please stfu.
not remotely funny
That was specific 😂
This a cool car as long as you have no road trips and have a charging station at home. If I was rich, this would be my town car so long as I did not have to go to a charging station. From my experience, charging at charging stations is an invitation to get assaulted. Panhandlers have found charging stations….and some of them are basically robbers….tapping on your windows, waiting for you to emerge to remove the cable from your car. My wife is totally creeped out at charging stations.
The top end model with more power and 3rd row seating would probably score about 66 or 68, depending on if he also bumped the fun factor and cool factor scores as well as inevitable boost to the acceleration and practicality. I'm actually surprised he gave it a fun factor of 5 instead of 4....he must consider fragrant air and the glutes workout fun, LoL!
15:00 after all these years Doug finally decides to protect his knees
Actually, Doug’s video feed consisting of mostly electric SUV brightly shows the current depressive state of the modern car industry. And few older cars like v12 SL Merc or track focused Ferrari shows how deeply it actually has fallen in recent few years
Don't worry. I'm sure it won't be too many more years before they discover that buttons and knobs exist again. Especially since they use significantly less power than a touchscreen.
I absolutely hate touch screen in cars. It’s irritating trying to adjust something when driving, and in my opinion, even more distracting!
great brand-quality and power
The EQS SUV looks wayyyyy better than the EQS Sedan
Change my mind.
that isn't saying much through is it
They both look generic.
Suv still looks like a blob like minivan that sat under the sun for many years and melted into a sloppy goop 🤮🤮
Would love to see a review, from you, on the '23 Yukon Denali Ultimate. Interested to get your take
you know that feeling you get as you walk around a Car Show, surrounded by the newest cars, excited to see everything you can?
the quirks and features take me back to those vibes everytime man 🥸
i finally understand why i watch these videos religiously…
I hope at some point the right to repair really becomes enforced and prohibits automakers from closing off the hood entirely from customers, that stuff shouldn't be allowed
The hood is obviously removable for service, just not a hinged panel for quick owner access, which is not necessary.
It opens like any normal hood; it's just that the hood latch is hidden behind a little removable panel in the usual location.
These electric Mercedes SUV's are amazingly beautifully made vehicles.
They are just stunning.
Yes, after the ugly sedans, this generic design seems almost attractive.
But compare it with beautiful cars.
@@cricho15 there are prettier designs but Mercedes did a heck of alot of work all over those electric cars and suv's. It is really impressive.
@@cricho15 both look terrible from the outside it’s just a 🥚
I already imagine the repair bills 💸
I’m not an SUV buyer but I prefer this model’s design over the sedan. The thing I find most disappointing with EV’s is that the “skateboard” platform allows for nearly unlimited styling options yet we’ve (I’ve) not yet seen anything really striking or innovative.
Still looks like a minivan that sat under the sun for many years and melted into a sloppy goop 🤮🤮
hot take: i prefer the standard dash over the hyper screen
The gorgeous hyper screen may looks state-of-the-art today, but will become so out-of-date in a few year. People should realize that their display will be the first things that goes out of style on any new cars. Too bad you can't update the OS/display.
Same
Hey Doug can you do some night testing so we can see lights
THIS is a nice car but I can't wait for the review when you get your hands on the new Polestar 3! That's going to have all the quirks and features to make it a top tier vehicle.
25 seconds. But holy hell what IS that Kia? Wonk.
Looking at this thing makes me want some eggs 🥚 for breakfast
The cargo popper looks just like what VW had in the early 00s
The suv still looks like a minivan that sat under the sun for many years and melted into a sloppy goop 🤮🤮
Doug, why have you never done a review of the Acura RLX? I know it’s not a big seller but now that it’s gone, it would be great to hear your thoughts.
Newsom.. mandates all vehicles to be electric by 2035
Newsom... Do not charge your EV vehicle 2022 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That G-force meter looks like a lil Uzi Vert album cover 🛸👽🛸👽
In my opinion this is the best looking suv (from outside) MB ever made, just clean and reasonable.
You’re blind…… these eqs Mercedes are absolutely horrible
@@turbochargedmad5876 Photos don't do it justice. In person this thing looks so much better
@@justsahar1253 absolutely not… thing looks terrible and their extremely difficult to work on so any and all mechanics/techs hate these
U have horrible taste sir, this suv looks like a minivan that sat under the sun for many years and melted into a sloppy goop 🤮🤮
They should have called it the EQR, because it looks like a minivan.
Fantastic technology. But I have to question how long before all of it becomes an unreliable glitchy mess.
They need to stop making suvs that look like Darth Vader's head.
Lol
I just watched an ad for the EQS. And this video's about the EQS.
Oh, another reasonably priced and light electric suv...
Reasonably priced and light? I don't think this is either of those.
@@damilolaakanniobvious sarcasm SMH
It's nice that these retro tail lights from the 80's are making a comeback, but I feel like they don't look as good on modern cars....
I refuse to believe people would buy this over a GLS
The glowing red G-force indicator looks like HAL 9000 viewed from an oblique angle...
Sounds like a lot of things that will probably break. Good ole mercedes
Absolutely no interest in any new Mercedes-Benz models, or any electric car to be honest.
VW did the rear camera under the logo years and years ago.
Very ugly car
The S-class is a beautiful car. It has the road presence of an AIRCRAFT CARRIER.
But the EQS SUV makes more sense for people who have places to charge.
Still can't touch the road presence of a W126 or a W140
@@paulie-Gualtieri.
You must be joking
Imagine they had hired Lucid to do the drivertrain. There would have been space for a 300-400 liter frunk. Or a same size wiper fluid tank.
Range would have been better, especially in winter.
Made in USA, right? Like the R-Class was. Not the best idea? Or...?
Some of the exterior styling seems early Buick Enclave, but that's not a bad thing.
Still looks like a minivan that sat under the sun for many years and melted into a sloppy goop 🤮🤮
I'm not sure how I feel about "workouts" for the driver. I need my driver to focus on the task at hand.
How does it beat out the Lyriq with the same score? Come on 😅 Great vid as always of course, thanks Doug
Does anyone know why he says it beats out the Cadillac Lyriq? Cause they have the exact same DougScore
0:43 Vroom and Carvana just offered me $46k for my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance. Prices have dropped incredibly on Tesla vehicles lately. That person who bought the Model 3 on Cars and Bids is going to lose a TON of money.
Every morning somewhere in the world an idiot stands up. You just have to find him...
dissapointed he didnt count all the mercedes stars
MB> Please design the interior to be as distracting as possible while the driver is engaged in the process of driving .. but make it seem like we're going for cool and trendy so that no one notices.
Designers> Got it boss.
I know this may be a bit late, but shoutout to Doug for hitting 4.5m subs.
Wonder what inspired this feature 😄
More cars should have it though.
Neat.
The BMW iX is a way better value and is cooler looking. 200+ more horsepower, standard AWD plus it has better range at 320 miles. And it costs quite a bit less. I would imagine it handles better as well and the ride is probably equally smooth.
Not sure why car manufacturers are moving to swiping volume sliders seems a bit tedious to me. Great looking car otherwise though
There used to be an ashtray where back USB-C chargers are...
