We had our R1S 1st mile drive last week. With delivery next week. I then went out and test drove the EQS SUV 580. And I bought it. Hands-down one of the most unbelievable interiors. And the power is more than enough. The exterior is just OK, but the technology inside is hands-down, the best. This review was a major reason why. Thanks kyle
Kyle, I appreciate your talk about the many technical aspects you have learned over lots of time spent with this EV platform in the EQS sedan. Cooling the electric motor, the OTA software updates, the driving assist features, the seat comfort and quietness, the cool info MBUX shows you in this new vehicle, the off-road capability. I love my MB S550 although proper maintenance is pricey, but the comfort and quiet and power is wonderful and I have enjoyed driving it immensely. Now my S550 is 7 yrs old and has 80K miles, so looking for next one when prices and availability settle down. Very nice to know that Mercedes has put so much engineering and thought into this vehicle. I was underwhelmed when I test drove an EQS last spring, with the low seating and entry, plus small back seat and poor visibility out. But I loved the instant torque, the quiet, and the rear wheel steering. I cannot wait to test drive an EQS SUV!
The off-roading capabilities will also help when the EQS owners drive to their favorite ski resort in the alps on snowed-in roads, or something like that.
I can't wait to see a EQS SUV vs the Lucid Gravity vs the Rivian R1S. I realize the EQS is closer to a luxury SUV than the Rivian, but I'm excited to see where the Gravity falls in the middle and the range outshines the EQS but close to performance as the Rivian offroad - will be interesting especially since the Gravity is being marketed with a cargo box on top which is a huge range killer, I'd assume.
Love it - I do hope they bring some of the software updates back to the EQS, I'd love to see battery percentage on the dash, air suspension control, etc.
Sounds like it needs a Sports mode for driving, perhaps a slightly larger battery, and a bit of refining on the look to be more sporty as well. Perhaps that AMG version???
Your comments on forward visibility are very important for my wife, who normally drives a (current gen) G Wagon, which has amazing visibility. Do you find the visibility in the EQS SUV better, worse, or the same as the EQE SUV?
When you compare models prices you need to really compare that more options can be included in the 580 that you would need to pay for in 450,, which brings the price closer than list would suggest,, I have eqs 580 ,, when I got done comparing what is actually included really made sense go 580 not 450
I've had mine for a month now. Other than it being bad with bumps in the road (air suspension is very stiff which makes you feel the bumps / pot holes!!!) and the ventilated seats being non-consistant with cooling, it's an okay SUV.
A 6 second suv in base and your complaining it’s a flying brick how fast do you need in the city? Not everything needs to be hyperspeed or plad as for a 580 doing 4 secs it’s only 10 years ago we had that for a 911 gt or maclarenn
Now that the Model X is effectively 30% cheaper than the EQS SUV 450+ does that change your opinion? People also seem to overlook that these cars are only getting access to about 1/3 of the superchargers when the time comes.
Hi Nice video again. Just a question, have you tried intelligent regen, where you press the minus or plus for 3 sec and it change the regen it self? If you did how do you like that?
7 seater EV SUVs that are affordable sure would be nice... In fact, I've yet to see any manufacturer make a full size SUV that's electric. Unless we're counting the R1S.
Keeping in mind that this is more premium in all category and can go off-road, can model X even do all this? Maybe software update for off-roading and rear wheel steering 😂😅
Not my thing but I am glad to see big SUVs going electric. Every car we get off of ICE makes it that much easier for the next guy (or this guy's employee) to make the jump. It kinda seems inevitable now. BUT, for years those of us who drove electric were on an adventure, avant guard, ahead of the curve... pick your favorite cliche, but we were 'special' as we flirted our way into getting the RV park lady to let us charge. I'm thrilled to see the change, but it I suspect some people will feel a bit bitter or betrayed as they wait behind the soccer mom charging her Luxo-Boat to 100% for a 25 mile trip home. One day EV owners won't gossip at charging stations about their best Mile/kWh run, 0-60 times, or the fastest charging speed they've seen. Driving electric will just be the normal way to get around. At gas pumps people talk about the fuel price or the weather, if they talk to each other at all. That's our future. It'll be weird, but we changed the world.
When your guide was driving over the moguls, the rear hatch release was at an angle, and then closed. Is there a camera mounted under it, or was there some other reason for it?
"SUV" 🤣 Aside from rivian and some of the diy/small batch producers they're just station wagons. TBC I think they're fine vehicles, but they aren't SUVs lol
I’ll say the iX is just ugly. And a big downside: the iX40 should be the choice, but it comes with a way to small battery. The EQS 450 4matic is 145000 Euro’s without hyper screen. Hyper screen is almost 9000 on top.
I love when reviewers get into a heavy luxury EV SUV and proceed to put it into sport mode and talk about cornering as they drive like a moron. Nobody is buying this car to do that. Literally nobody. How quiet is it? How soft is the ride? That's what people buying it wanna know. If it was an AMG then ok you have atleast something to talk about. This isn't that.
The mtech interiors are very dog friendly. Don’t confuse the beauty with something that doesn’t hold up. I’ve had several, and w several dogs. It’s just more for the money, compared to Tesla, saying the Tesla holds up better is just wrong. Says who? Based on what research? Love Tesla but interiors are pretty cheap, says people who love Tesla!
Mercedes are nice vehicles but there is a price for luxury. When you call this an ideal “Mom” car, the average “Mom” is not able to afford this car. The majority of families cannot afford this car. It will be interesting to see how the EV pricing will be for “used” cars. Will they have a higher “resale” value over ICE used car market? There seemed to be a lot more noise on the “highway” at higher speeds than on the winding canyon roads. Did you adjust something in the recording or turn off the noise cancelling or is it just wheel noise? Thanks for the video. Waiting to see more affordable EV reviews.
It's a Mercedes, they're luxury cars. What were you expecting it to be, $30k? 🤷🏻♂️ It's the same way with combustion cars, I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
39:25 Pro tip: Never say "That´s a mushi car!" to people in Germany. They will get it wrong. Everyone who knows what I´m talking about should give a thumbs up.
I like how people click on a mercedes ev review and expecting it to be cheap. Their is a search button to look up ioniq 5, chevy bolts etc if that's your price range. 🤷♂️
You finally got the brake comment correct. In NORMAL it feels..... NORMAL! Your complaining is only in full regen mode!!! You don't have to use it at all! The majority of EQS buyers are Mercedes owners and thay expect their brakes to feel as they are already used to. In effect you are compare it to a Teslas braking which is not normal to the majority of the EQS buyers.
I like how people click on a mercedes review and complain about the price lmao. It's a mercedes ev, what do you expect?
So annoying, right? Like standing outside of a jewelry store complaining about the price of a Rolex.
I’ve noticed it on most car review videos these days…
The Tesla Model X ain't exactly cheap either. I'm a huge fan of the Bolt at 30k till the Acadia lands.
Word it makes absolutely zero sense hahaha
waited 2 years got a eqs half the price, amazing car

Not sure why...but I really enjoy the drives with you and Alyssa more than any of the others.

Alyssa: Tell Kyle that your dog rescue trips will require the Maybach model of this.
Alyssa knows more about cars than most EV drivers. She actually pays more attention to the driving dynamics vs just 0-60 times
omg - I am EXCITED for your EQE SUV video when it comes out!!!
I agree with its looks. So much better than the sedan.
Your comments on forward visibility are very important for my wife, who normally drives a (current gen) G Wagon, which has amazing visibility.

Off road capabilities are totally unexpected, thanks for a thorough review. I'd love to see video comparing EQS sedan and SUV
That shit gonna catch on fire 🔥

Great review! Good for MB, though I doubt I will take mine off road.
How do wind and road noise compare to the BMW iX?
A 6 second suv in base and your complaining it’s a flying brick how fast do you need in the city? Not everything needs to be hyperspeed or plad as for a 580 doing 4 secs it’s only 10 years ago we had that for a 911 gt or maclarenn
I think my e-tron screen is nice however this hyper screen more to my liking, im definitely looking into an amg version of this 7 seat suv.
Now that the Model X is effectively 30% cheaper than the EQS SUV 450+ does that change your opinion? People also seem to overlook that these cars are only getting access to about 1/3 of the superchargers when the time comes.
How do you feel about Alex at E For Electric and his update regarding all his ID.4 problems?
Hi Nice video again. Just a question, have you tried intelligent regen, where you press the minus or plus for 3 sec and it change the regen it self?
If you did how do you like that?
5:55 if you put in neutral it will be better for the car's health than drive mode, before steering on the spot
And allow car to slightly pivot naturally so don't hold brake pedal
We are going to need more chargers. Just think about what is available now vs 2012.
Haha, I hope no one actually paid over list! Now they can’t even give them away at 25% off list.
Она всегда такая кислая?
Nice car 😍
7 seater EV SUVs that are affordable sure would be nice...
In fact, I've yet to see any manufacturer make a full size SUV that's electric. Unless we're counting the R1S.
There are no dealers around me that are not marking up cars like crazy right now.
How would you compare the land centering on Benz vs Tesla?
Will you review the EQB? It's way more affordable. :)
He already did
For those complaining about price how much is the Model X again?
Keeping in mind that this is more premium in all category and can go off-road, can model X even do all this? Maybe software update for off-roading and rear wheel steering 😂😅

Just drove it in Socal
$10k over MSRP
When your guide was driving over the moguls, the rear hatch release was at an angle, and then closed. Is there a camera mounted under it, or was there some other reason for it?
Yes, that's where the camera is on the newer models, including the EQS (and SUV)
@@ani_b Thank you
I wonder if this will come with MB's awesome fake leather as an option? Artico I think its called...better for wear and tear...
Great video. How’s the ride quality / comfort compared to the Lucid?
21:50 „most comfortable EV in the market“ „ultimate luxury“
And 42:50
And 47:30
Kyle luv the channel how to I find the quietest replacement tire brand-model for my ev ???? I know size etc but who makes quietest tires ??
Can you later on select a level 3 fsd on this car?
If Dave has his own channel…. How about Alyssa!?! 😁
US285 to Parmalee Gulch Road?
Has it got heatpump?
That was cool
Looks like a Merecdes B class electrified.
That would be the EQB
I would take this over the model x anytime.
100 k and you still don’t get Alcantara on the roof and door pilar , come on Mercedes
When are you gonna have access to BMW i7? EQS is really nice overall but the range is meh.
The bmw i7 in the middle back its stonehard if ur 4 in the car then its a deffintly a nice car.
We're really stretching the SUV term nowadays
Sedan / minivan crossover seems more appropriate
Yeah, this isn't an SUV. Just like the Model Y isn't an SUV.
Getting the size of a small car.
The question now is should I swap my 21 GLS 580 with E active suspension for one of these🤔....Nahhh maybe in 5 years😁
Why do people throw away /burn money on a Model X, it's a money pit and garbage. This is the car to get.
The charging network is very compelling and really the only reason that I can think of.
Time will tell
Loved the review. Started to like EQS SUV a bit more, but exterior is still looking terrible 😖 But much better looking than EQS (sedan), tho.
Kyle politicing to trade in the Etron for the Mercedes and Alyssa is not having it.
"SUV" 🤣
Aside from rivian and some of the diy/small batch producers they're just station wagons.
TBC I think they're fine vehicles, but they aren't SUVs lol
When will you review the EQE SUV. That is the one I really want to see.
Probably once it exists
Great review but Alyssa oddly seems like she doesn't want to be there...
Alyssa is concerned with how many dogs this >$100k SUV can carry.
What does mushy mean ?😂
this channel seems to confuse ride harshness with sportyness.
I’ll say the iX is just ugly. And a big downside: the iX40 should be the choice, but it comes with a way to small battery. The EQS 450 4matic is 145000 Euro’s without hyper screen. Hyper screen is almost 9000 on top.

Who the hell can afford this? Billionaires?
Billionaires could use them like paper napkins. But you better be wealthy if you want a Mercedes flagship car.
all these ev look like jelly beans

Great looking EUV...but priced too high for a retired person!
Btw, take that Tesla...there are other EVs out there that actually look like SUVs.
As if only retired persons that are buying expensive cars!? Lol……
