I don't get how people find the g2c ugly, I love the look of it, the only thing slightly unappealing is the memory dents but when you hold it, you realize how nice they are. Stock g2c's look awesome imo but there's some even more beautiful custom g2c's my personal favorite is all black with a gold barrel and milled slide. Gorgeous.
I know this video is old, but I bought my G2C when COVID hit because the world was going crazy, but I literally just used it @ the range for the 1st time today. Ran about 150 rounds through it. Perfectly fine for self defense at home. Buying an expensive gun is for enthusiasts, cheaper ones do the job fine. If u ever needed if ur talking a few shots at close range anyway.

The g2c is a very common cheap first gun. It’s kinda perfect for a first time buyer in that it’s small, good caliber, good capacity and it’s a great price
You got to keep that safety switch completely disengaged or you will get the issue that was denoted at 5:40; you can see that your safety switch was poking up just a bit hindering the slide. Something to be aware of with firearms and safety switches!
I just bought my first Taurus & was testing it out & this happened. Been doing research for the last hour & finally came across your informative comment! Thank you
I got the G3C for my first firearm, it’s a great starter firearm if you don’t wanna break the bank. Comes with 3 12 rd mags too. And they just released a new tactical full size version with a threaded barrel and 17 round mags and deleted thumb safety.
@@notthesamepersoniwasfourmi5182 ehhh can't speak to highly on the extended ProMag lol. But I also haven't shot a full 30 out of it so I'll find out eventually.
My very first gun was a G2C, was a super reliable gun, threw 1900 rounds through it with no issues and my buddy now owns it and he said hes put another 250-300 rounds and its still performing amazing. Sights arent the best when you start stepping a bit further away from the target around 25 yards or so. But its a very decent gun for the price and can not be beat.
@@HisSacredLove Yes i carried it for 2 years guns awesome for the price. I put 2500 rounds through it before i sold it never had it jam or anything as long as you clean it.
The trigger has re-striking capability. That means if a shell doesn’t go off you can retry it without taking it out. That’s why the trigger resets automatically
Also good for if you do dry fire /laser target training. You don't have to rack after every pull of the trigger. Have the G3c and think I had one feed jam that was ammo related in a little under 1000 rounds. Super reliable pistol.
That's not even a thing... It's called a double action trigger. Meaning when you pull the trigger it cocks the striker and then releases it. No one who handles firearms for a living wants to "restrike" a dud round. You "tap, rack, ready" every time. Get rid of the dud and move on with a fresh round.
It’s meant for a lightly striked primer. In a gun battle it may or may not work depending on the type of round malfunction. It doesn’t hurt having it but I wouldn’t depend my life on it.
I own two G2c's. I've put 500 rounds through each (a wide variety of cartridges) and never had a single issue. They're accurate for a compact and for what you pay, I don't think there's a better option for the price anywhere. It's my EDC and I don't sweat it at all.
Well you should because you got super lucky because everyone Ive ever seen had nothing but issues agreed its only been around 7 I’ve seen but all 7 people who own them wish they never bought it my Aunt bought hers never shot it went to qualify for her cc with it and wouldn’t even fire she had to borrow my Uncles
I don’t care about the “look” of a gun. It’s a gun, I’m using it for safety. A gun goes boom. Guns don’t go “ooo I’m pretty don’t shoot me to hard” you can get dropped with a Taurus while you have a S&W. It’s all up to the person behind the trigger. Stay safe
The trigger does that because it's a restrike capable trigger so if the round doesn't fire you can pull the trigger again until it fires or you clear the round so it's kinda like a double action trigger
G2c was the gun of the year in 2012. Cheap and durable. Don't let one bad review turn u away from this bad boy. And you can buy yourself a MCK to go with it. I've had my G2c for 8 years now. It was my first gun
I’m a very experienced shooter and I carry a G3C on occasion. Guns go bang, but it’s the training that lands the bullet. Half these guys walking around with these $1200 handguns can’t hit air. The Taurus is the most reliable handgun for the price
Just got the G3C from Cabelas last week for $249. A steal for a reliable piece. I personally don’t think it’s ugly either. I put about 100 rounds through it the first time I shot with no jams or issues. Happy to have it
Yup, I bought 2 of them even before I knew they were so reliable, they rock. I had troubles with one. The first thirty or forty rounds never had any trouble again. They both function perfectly
Taurus G2c was my first CCW. It is an extremely reliable firearm and whoever talks down on it clearly doesn’t know what a good gun is. However, If you can get the g3c I advise you to get it. Sights are much better.
I own two of them the g2c an G3c an never had any issues whatsoever even with the 32 round pro mag they bust everytime my Glock 19 an 26 is funny sometimes with extensions
I had a G2C and I regret ever getting rid of it. It was a great gun. I would for sure recommend the G2C. I now have the G3C and I also love it. Taurus makes great affordable guns. They are out there selling a name like some of the other big name brand guns.
Hornady ammo works well, keep ya barrel oiled. Also polymer tip defense rounds (home defense) do need a well oiled system, but with that said, knowing your ammo/gun is all that matters

I have this exactly same gun, took it to the range more times than I can count and never have a single problem or issue with it. Shoots really nicely, very precisely, feels good on my hand. reasonable priced and small enough for a perfect concealed carry. Maybe you just got real bad luck. And honestly I think its a pretty cool looking gun.
G2C is an awesome handgun, works perfectly and looks great ! 12 round magazine and it comes with 2 magazines new ! Manual flip up safety on port side of pistol , has a loaded chamber indicator on top of slide and last shot hold open feature ! The trigger breaks at the far back of the pull but it resets rather easily as not much forward travel is needed to put it back in ready mode , it also has the " double strike " capability which means if you have a failure to fire you can simply pull the trigger again without having to eject the cartridge to feed a fresh one into the chamber ! It's really nice and feels good in your hand , compact size and it's dependable !
It's an awesome gun till it's not. I loved it when I first got it. For some strange reason, after two years, the trigger got "stupid". If not pressed a specific way, it won't work anymore. Apparently this is common. So, as I cannot trust it anymore for a concealed carry, I am ditching it and going with a SW M+P Shield 2.0. Sorry Taurus, but I don't carry guns I cannot 100% rely on 100% of the time.
@@coyote520 replace the trigger and carry it every day ! I have never known or heard of anyone that had any issue with the trigger at all , it's a long pull before first break then a short reset is all it takes to get off the next round , I personally always make sure I am pulling the trigger straight back , none of the side pressure stuff that could possibly wear the mechanism unevenly ! Lucas synthetic gun oil also !
@@straight6fords580 you should watch hickok45 channel he doesn't think it's all that bad , it works flawlessly and it does feel good in your hand , I was gonna get a Glock 43 but I like the taurus better and it has 12 round magazine capacity
Traded a Smith&Wesson M&P Shield .40 for my G2C 9mm, haven't been disappointed yet. Had the gun for about 5 months, already put 200 rounds through it and it has never jammed. Great gun I love all the safety on it. Seems like the love child of a Glock and a M&P 😄
Ive had both the Taurus is a good gun for the price, but its picky on ammo or atlesst mine was. It didnt like shooting aluminum case or steel case ammo as much every now and then id have a hickup. That Shield has eaten everything ive fed it, but for the prices both solid guns.
My roommate bought this handgun for his first handgun, plus he had tiny hands which was also why he purchased it. Also he was on a budget, he didn’t want to break the bank because he had not shot it yet, so if he did not like it, he was going to return it. So we shot the handgun, it was definitely a great gun, as well as compact and easily hidden, it fit my hands perfectly as well, that fitting on the bottom of the handgun was great positioning, all an all, I would say, great gun!
1:52 restrike trigger allows you to only squeeze the trigger after a bad primer strike (and I can tell you it does work), at the range while shooting steel ammo I got a click instead of a bang and rather than have to tap rack bang I simply squeezed the trigger again and it did pop off the round. 6:10 the thumb on your right hand & finger from your left hand are riding the slide. During practice no big deal. But it can induce a malfunction. Weve all done it. God forbid it happens while youre defending yourself. Otherwise great video & really cool tshirt* Stay up.
I have had 2 of the G2C and for the money you cannot find a better pocket rocket. The ability to squeeze the trigger without a round in the chamber or “cocking it” was a seller point for me. It makes it perfect for a dry fire gun. It’s ability to show loaded when one is in the chamber was nice and the ability to use SIG magazines for it was also nice. On top of that it was very accurate and for the size the kick was negligible and I can’t say a bad thing about it. No it’s not a SIG or a Glock but for a sub $300 weapon you truly can’t beat it. Oh and did I say it was accurate?!?
I'll say for the price, this is a pretty nice gun for conceal carry or home protection. It's nothing fancy, but is built well and does the job. Nice video!!

Nice. I copped the PT111 G2 stainless satin slide when if first came out, years ago. I love it and carried it for years. It's not my main carry anymore, but I'll never get rid of it.
The reason why it’s hard to rack is because it’s a brand-new gun the magazine spring is pushing pressure on your slide Try taking one round out till you break in the mag
He was pushing the mag release. Pretty sure the intro is for click bait or he really is dumb... Mine racked perfectly fine for the first round from a full mag.
I have a Taurus millinium G2 and I put a laser on rail under the barrel. It is spot on. Had the gun for about 4 years and paid 250.00 for it. It holds 12+1 . This is also called the pt 111 G2.
The G2C has " Second Strike " capability in the trigger, hence you dry firing it as you were. I have one,and it definitely does what its designed todo. It annoys me how all of a sudden guns need tobe gold, pink, purple camo, neon yellow etc etc....not sure when " Looks " ment more than reliability and function.
I've got the Taurus G3C and I love it. I alternate it with my hellcat pro as my conceal carry and although it jammed on me 2 or 3 times, it's because I ran several hundred rounds through it and didn't clean it at first. Once I kept it clean it never jammed again. I actually like the gun.
i purchased the G3C and for my first gun i have to say i couldnt have picked a better gun for the price and reliability...have shot hundreds of rounds through it and NO JAMS i was more than satisfied with the size and for a concealed carry weapon again you cant beat it for the price

Honestly the G2C is great. I’ve owned my for almost a year and I carry everyday it’s light weight and it’s easy to handle especially with two safeties. Add a laser beam and it’s even better. I’d definitely recommend for a beginner gun
The clicking in the trigger you are refering to is second strike capability, in case it doesn't fire the first time you can pull the trigger again, otherwise eject unspent round and keep blazing.
I started out with this gun when it came out. Years later it still rocking when I do take it to the range. Never had a problem with it. Of course i upgraded ever since but it still one of my favorite on how it melts in my hand and how it handles thousands of rounds without probs.
Absolutely love mine as well , I Purchased a glock 43 several years after getting my G2C and got rid of the glock . My G2C is still my EDC to this day .
I rock with the G2C and the G3C, for the price you can’t beat it for a Truck gun, boat gun, an extra pistol for a friend on range day .. mine has always been reliable!

I bought 2 of them at the same time for $280 from Academy. They were having a special deal to make room for the G3C. (That's what I was told). But I bought 2 because if you are ever involved in a shooting, they take your gun for 30 days. And I don't want to be left without one at work. taurus is trash… BUT it ain’t bad for the price. even hipoint has a lifetime unlimited no questions asked warranty. double action trigger can come in handy for a light strike ect, but taurus has bad issues with tolerances, but for a truck gun it’s better than a lot of other budget picks for sure. my rule of thumb is i won’t trust my life with a gun cheeper than $500.
@@Str8Jacket_5150 wow really? You definitely have some trust issues then my guy! I paid $400 for a Glock that was well used and have not once had and issues with reliability or function. It's a great pistol, especially if you spend an extra $100 and get a nice trigger with some upgraded internals, lots of options to choose from. Also the gun comes super stiff new 5:35 you gotta rack it with some juice

Only issue I ever had with it was loading Hornady critical defense rounds, but now that I have switched to Barnes Tac-XPD defense ammo I have loved my baby… awesome review I would tell you were skeptical but you gave props where they were due. Definitely earned a sub with this one gang 💯
Researching handguns and all I'm seeing from commenters on forums and RUclips is that they all have problems with Hornady critical defense rounds, so the problem seems to be poor tolerance quality control at Hornady instead of the firearms that get mentioned
Taurus are very dependable firearms, as long as you feed them coppers and not steels. I shot 400 rounds through without cleaning with no jams… really good purchase used by the Brazilian police department.
Man much will have 3k -6k collection then go buy a Taurus and critique it 😂 like bruh this anit the gun for you and you know that 😂😂 nothing wrong with the Taurus brand at all. Not sure why it gets side eyed in the 2a community

Agreed this gun compares well to a Glock. I dig Glock too but the feel of the Taurus G2 is nicer (to me). Similarly to Glocks these Taurus G series pistols are also *VERY* reliable. High Point (minus the carbines) don't even compare. They're better than a baseball bat but that's about it.....

I have the g3c and it's just the greatest thing I have out of all my firearms. I got the standard three mags an a extended mag and had no jamming problems. Besides the SIG Sauer hollow point rounds wouldn't feed right everything else I've tried had no complaints.
To add...This gun definitely isn't bad at all. As far as the jams go, this particular gun is definitely not a fan of the pure steel bullet casings. It will certainly jam. Brass is best usually. The trigger mechanism is very key during the cleaning process of this weapon. Keep it lubricated you won't have the common issue with the trigger locking up after reset. It's a great starter gun. Imho I give it a 8 outta 10👍👍
Dope video. I love the honest reluctance and initial awkwardness of the initial handling. I was pleased to see it perform as I have one. It’s not my only piece and I got it just because the price was so sweet and it had glowing reviews. So they sucked me in. 😅😅😅 It’s not the sexiest but it’s decent I think. It’s sort of like an M&P and a Glock had a Baby. The weakest part is the finish but since it was going to be a beater anyway that certainly didn’t stop me. The weird live trigger thing, I knew about ahead of time anyway. It was actually a feature unique to Taurus called double strike capability. So, if you have a light primer strike or something like that you can try it again without have to rack and reset. Not really needed but interesting. I also liked the safety features for new shooters I might be showing the ropes. I was pleasantly surprised and it looks like for you it will be that little cousin that’s kindof cool but you don’t play with as much too! 😆😆😆 But when you do you’ll still wonder how they made a decent showing of $225. Especially since you’re some what of gun snob. 🤣🤣🤣 I recommend them to all with no remorse. They are too cheap with too good a reputation not to have one.
My G2C has a short trigger, stainless steel coil, metal striker guide, red dot I can bolt to the frame, designed for this gun without using the rail, and an MCK kit that turns it into a mini AR situation….it was already good out the box though!
The G2C is a great gun as for the pt111 G2 🔥🔥🔥🔥 they have a great price for it. It’s a nice compact 9mm don’t understand why there is so much hate on this firearm. Perfect starter gun and the price you can’t beat. My very first one has went threw hell. It was submerged in water and pulled out and shot perfectly fine. In my opinion this firearm is amazing for what it is.
So it seems it's highly durable compared to some of the others? I think the shit people talk about it from my viewing of some other readings and videos that it's possibly just an issue of it being outdated? Technically it's already a classic all of its own.
I been using my G2c for about 3 years now and I love it. Ran a lot of rounds through it and it did some problems but I tend to it every time I get done shooting it or if I dont use it that week Ill clean it once a week and so far no more problems. Way better choice than a Hi-Point!
I scooped up my G2C years back, the week it was released, it has some changes. Stainless steel guide rod, asmund short stroke trigger, threaded barrel. I just recently added a CAA Micro Conversion Kit to it. I love it, pretty cool kit. They do make speedloaders for them also. Cheers
dont have the g2c, have the g2s. same gun just single stack and its great for carrying. holds 7+1 and they have 10rd promags which for me have worked great. great gun for a amazing price
I love that gun. I've had one for a very long time. In fact, it was my carry gun for a long time. I've put thousands of rounds through it and it just works. What more can you ask for out of a gun. If you maintain them, it will function just fine. Don't knock the price.
Polished the feed ramp, Polished the rails... put in the metal striker assembly for $14... cycled around 500 rounds of 3-4 different kinds of ammo with one misfeed...
Get a Maglula, speed loader that works with most double stack mags...you can even get an adapter for single stack. Will save wear and tear on your thumbs.
I have had the G2C for a long time now, also have a G3C. No idea how many round i have put through both, however its somewhere close to 1.5k each. I have ran everything from steel case to higher end defense rounds with zero issues, EXCEPT after a 100-150 steel case without cleaning to see what would happen, it jammed up which i expected, no big deal. I will say that i have also upgraded the internals on both, and they run both much smoother.
Yep no rerack on the slide with the restrike
That's not even a thing... It's called a double action trigger. Meaning when you pull the trigger it cocks the striker and then releases it.
No one who handles firearms for a living wants to "restrike" a dud round. You "tap, rack, ready" every time. Get rid of the dud and move on with a fresh round.
@@iamcondescending seems you have missed the whole point
It’s meant for a lightly striked primer. In a gun battle it may or may not work depending on the type of round malfunction. It doesn’t hurt having it but I wouldn’t depend my life on it.

The trigger does that because it's a restrike capable trigger so if the round doesn't fire you can pull the trigger again until it fires or you clear the round so it's kinda like a double action trigger

@ase.318 agree the smith cost now almost 6 hundred. Taurus top 3 hundred
Otherwise great video & really cool tshirt*

My thumb looks like it’s riding the slide but it’s not. And thanks for the feedback
The restrike ability is also perfect for a dry fire laser training system.
I'd be worried about squib loads.
This is my edc. I’ve put well over 1000 rounds through it at the range with no issues. I love this gun!

My first firearm was a Taurus PT140 G2 they rarely jam, and that's probably because Beretta sold their plant and their patents to Taurus in Brazil.
Good vid bro 🤙🏾
@GunboycarlOnDiscord you what?
Agreed. 🤝🏾
Had mine for about 5 years, excellent gun, shot 150 rounds in 10 mins, jammed once definitely worth every buck
My G2C has a short trigger, stainless steel coil, metal striker guide, red dot I can bolt to the frame, designed for this gun without using the rail, and an MCK kit that turns it into a mini AR situation….it was already good out the box though!
@JCannonMusic Where did you get your MCK Kit for your GC2M
@@markatkins3166 I went directly to the website of the manufacturer of the MCK/Roni. They have sales all the time on their website.
I always like to see young people being responsible and mature when handling fire arms - it shows me they understand how dangerous these weapons are
The trigger pool right as a round went off was bad ass perfect timing I subscribed because of that lol keep up the good work👍
Lol appreciate it
I been using my G2c for about 3 years now and I love it. Ran a lot of rounds through it and it did some problems but I tend to it every time I get done shooting it or if I dont use it that week Ill clean it once a week and so far no more problems. Way better choice than a Hi-Point!
Great vid! The last minute or so was golden. Keep going dude!
I love mines. Adding a beam & a 32 rd magazine too it. Using nothing but R.I.P bullets & Federal hst
The trigger pull and the actual shot was crazy 😂
Ong I was like that lil ass kickback😂😂😂
I love that gun. I've had one for a very long time. In fact, it was my carry gun for a long time. I've put thousands of rounds through it and it just works. What more can you ask for out of a gun. If you maintain them, it will function just fine. Don't knock the price.
Exactly
Same
What’s your Cary gun now 🤔
Polished the feed ramp, Polished the rails... put in the metal striker assembly for $14... cycled around 500 rounds of 3-4 different kinds of ammo with one misfeed...
Very popular and reliable. I sell a couple of g2's and g3's a week at the gun shop. Great price too.
Not in ohio by any chance?
Get a Maglula, speed loader that works with most double stack mags...you can even get an adapter for single stack. Will save wear and tear on your thumbs.
I have had the G2C for a long time now, also have a G3C.
No idea how many round i have put through both, however its somewhere close to 1.5k each.
I have ran everything from steel case to higher end defense rounds with zero issues, EXCEPT after a 100-150 steel case without cleaning to see what would happen, it jammed up which i expected, no big deal.
I will say that i have also upgraded the internals on both, and they run both much smoother.
On both starting price was around 250$ internals upgrade 175$
I carry the G2C every day, it is by far and away my favorite edc.
I got a g3c and I love it very reliable gun 💯
I’m starting to see Taurus got some fire on they hands!
Uh oh! This is the one I have! Just tuned in to let’s see what you think
Okay you had me worried I had a piece of crap for a sec lol. I’m glad you reviewed this one! Still haven’t made it to the gun range to try it out yet, but soon! Ready for Wednesdays video!
Ahh man you gone make me come find you! You’re supposed to be practicing with it as soon as you get it! But the G2C is a good buy, wait until you see the next Taurus I bought and reviewed. Complete opposite 🫣
@@ChrisTV1 my guess is the judge 🤷🏾♂️
@@chalisdadon Nope 😏
Nice demo. Concise and accurate.
Well done
I carry the Taurus G3X daily. I've had all the models back to the PT 111's. Taurus has redeemed faith in the budget gun market and surpassed expectations. 🐂
