Great video. My favorite worry-free lenses (AF) are the 27, 35, and 56. I also have a 17, 23, 25, 35, and 50 manual mode lenses. They did not break my credit card; they are TTArtisan, and I love them all. Now, I need a 75-100 range compact prime for my telephoto, which I lack. Sir, you earned my subscription. 🙏BTW, I am an old fart (64) who learned photography when I was 12, so shooting all manual mode with my cameras is very seamless.
Thanks for following along! I really like 90mm for a telephoto, tough it can be a bit tight in some situations. But if you already own a 56mm I guess a 90mm or 100mm would be to most logical lenses 😊
I have to say I rarely shoot higher than 50mm. I have a 70-200 and use it for portraits and occasional landscapes but when I last traveled I let it at home. Love my 40mm, 50mm, 20mm primes and I now have a 105mm and 135mm. That's about it really.
I haven't had the chance to experiment with many different focal lengths yet, but I think my favorites currently are 50mm and 28mm. I would say that my preference is prime lenses over zoom - just because I like having as wide an aperture as possible, and they are just more straight forward to use. But this week I did just pick up a vintage 28-70mm 2.8f lens and I am excited by it - includes the two focal lengths I already love, plus letting me go out to 70mm if I want. I'm going on a trip in a couple of weeks and I don't want to have to carry multiple lenses around with me the whole time, so I was struggling to decide which of the two to go for. And I don't really know if I'll end up shooting more landscape/environmental photos, or if I'll be shooting more portraits of my friend. So I decided to go for the 28-70mm hoping to give me the versatility to shoot either style in the way that I like to, with just the single lens
28 and 50mm is a perfect combination really! But yes, especially for traveling a zoom is more convenient. Also zooms can be a good way to discover the focal lengths you‘re most comfortable with
Acuatually, I have had some astounding results with 12 mm in some specific scenarios, as I have a preference for landscape photography. While traveling abroad, zoom lenses are very useful, while prime lenses are surething to a better image. Finally, because traveling photography is my hobby, I have found peace traveling with a pair of cameras with Zoom lenses, 20-70mm and 70-200mm, and an apsc camera with an 11mm prime lens and pain killer medication to the end of the day for having a good load to carry on. Just in time, I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer .
12mm must be incredible hard to work with I imagine, but will shine in the right locations. I used to bring a similar kit on my travels, but as you said, by the end of the day you are often left with sore shoulders. I found that I can be out for longer and be more creative with a super small and lightweight kit. Sure I can‘t take every photo in every situation but I feel overall more engaged in the process and have a better time overall, which I think also contributes to better images. But especially for landscapes zooms have their place!

Spot on! I got a27mm, a 50mm and a 105mm macro lens. I basically have it all covered besides more extreme cases. Your production is great aswell
That‘s a perfect trio! I find it really freeing to think in these categories, makes composing and visualizing much easier for me.

Yes, telephoto zooms are a pain to travel with 😬

20mm f1.8, 50mm f1.4 and 90mm f2.8 works great for me! And for my telephoto needs I use the e 70-350mm in crop mode.
That‘s a great set! How do you like the 20mm?
@@leanderhoefler It's a bit too wide for photographing people but otherwise it is a great little lens!
@@timoohlsen Yes, was also surprised by how much I like that focal length
Thanks for the great video, love the color of each photo and if you release a lightroom presets i will definitely buy it!
@@ziqiangzhao3188 Thank you! Will look into that in the near future.
Keep it up man! Useful information and big production value in this video!
Thanks mate, I‘m putting a lot of work in these videos!

@leanderhoefler so, I hope, soon I will be be that provided, with a smaller amount of lenses...
@@leanderhoefler thank you.
