Fantastic advice! I’d add one more - you don’t need to think where to go, which may become an excuse to not go at all. I’m very beginner, like I’m shooting for a month, maybe a little more. And I don’t go every time to the same place, but often I start at the same place, and then go with the flow. So yes, repetition is crucial for me
Great advice. I got one a few years back: "Update your vision, update your vision, update your vision again and you will realize, you don't need new gear."
Thank you. I've been shooting the same locations and wondering if I need a change. I'm now excited to keep going back and develop on what I've been doing. +1 for mental health benefits.
Thank you for such an inspirational talk. This makes so much sense and it's a way of building solid foundations. I would add that sometimes I just stand in one place for a while, without using my camera, just watching the world go by, observing, feeling the flow of paths crossing. I've been away from street photography for a few years now but I feel like going back out there now! Sub added!
Nice. I especially appreciated the tip to take some time after shooting to ask myself WHY I'm discarding a shot and what went wrong. I don't do that right now. Great advice!
Great video, thank you for sharing your tips and advice. Your photography is superb and I have your book London After Dark. It's great to see a fellow Trope author doing so well.
All excellent, essential points -though I'm not certain that mere repetition is the key concept. Perhaps "perseverance" comes closer, if any single term does.
Tony Robbins says practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. I try to set my camera up after the last shot. I try not to think. If something looks interesting I shoot. If I think the moment is gone. Failed shots? Not perfect? I only like 2-5% of my images. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Yes!! I'm reminded of the old joke, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?... Practice, practice, practice!"
Repetition is the mother of learning as they say. Great video!
Thanks so much and I totally agree!

I completely agree. The most important factor when out shooting on the street is your vision.
Great advice presented in a clear, well-spoken manner. Now a subscriber and looking forward to checking out your archive.
That's very kind. New video coming soon too.
You have giving me the confidence.

Yes that's a great point. You don't have to be constantly shooting. Reading the room or a new location is a must. Thanks for the support !!
