- It’s the new 2021 Hyundai i30 hatch in review by Simone. The latest i30 hatch PD4 also comes with a fresher design, new tech, 5 trim levels, 2 engines, and both manual and automatic gearboxes.
The new Hyundai i30 has several engines to choose from in different markets. In Australia, we get three options starting with a 2 L petrol with 120 kW and 203 Nm, a 1.6 turbo diesel with 100 kW and 300 Nm, and a 1.6 turbo petrol with 150 kW and 265 Nm.
Along with added upgrades and added features the new i30 also sees a price increase on the outgoing hatchback model. The entry i30 starts at $23,420, the i30 Elite costs just over 30k, and the i30 n-line with a turbo and a DCT will cost you $31,420.
We see nice additions and new design elements to the latest i30 hatch keeping it competitive and desirable but Hyundai has also launched that all-new i30 sedan which just seems to steal some of that limelight, especially in that n-line version.

Hyundai-Kia really made great progress in the last years!
Gorgeous. The car isn't bad either.
who puts background music that loud while reviewing??
Cartel TV ;)
Hyundai Week at CarTell! Thank you Simone! Non-"Hot" hatchbacks aren't my thing, but I do appreciate the utility and efficiency they offer. Simple runabouts.
We have completely different engines and trim levels in EU. I just ordered a 1.5 DPi (110HP) with 6-speed manual in red and can’t wait to get it in December. It will be my working car in the driving school replacing my i20 1.2 MPi.
In new cars, the naturally aspirated engines (which I prefer as a driving instructor) are pretty much dead in the EU only Hyundai has a 1.5 DPi in their lineup. I tried more 1.0 turbo but didn’t like the characteristics of them. Lucky for me, all comes together in the i30 hatch as I like the style, the engine and as a bonus, Hyundai gives 16% off for driving instructors in my country.
Great review.
Good to see some familiar roads.
Keep up the good work.
OMG This design matches so well in blue.
The hatch n the fastback are just 🔥.
Also here just for Simone ☺️
Why don't you discuss the boot size with luggage storage
Natural beauty. Gorgeous without trying.
I just bought the updated I30 n line premium (MY21), I love it (even though the auto I30 N with a sunroof would have been my pick if I had extra cash to throw down) But all in all, its a lot of kit for a good price and Im super excited to pick up my baby N in two weeks.
i30 N is a different car that doesn’t come in auto isn’t it?? only the N Line comes in auto
@@chloelee8476 Auto i30 N is a hot hatch i30 N line is a warm hatch with some of the body kit of the N... yes they are different cars. The auto N is coming to Australia soon.
Hyundai came a long way since the pony am a holden vaxhaul opel lover and wonder of the new 2021 astra is as good or Better or not so good.like Hyundai
i was also opel lover until i boght Opel Mokka. 2.5 years now tha i am an owner i spent half of the time in dealreship..to many problems, i sold it and bought Hyundai i30 1,0 turbo dinstictive and i cannot believe that i am driving such a nice car and spent 18.250 euro
@@blackwhite3786 we had a Volvo 340 1.4 winner automatic also lots of problems and with the opel i did t yes this Hyundai is a nice car
I would also like to have the 1.6l Turbo, but here in Germany we only get a 1.5l Turbo + mild hybrid with 159ps. You don't get anything above that here, except for the N models.
Grill looks like spiderman’s web. Current i30 is the best so far
Check the N grill its much better
With musac, one sense -hearing- is lose. Otherwise Simone, a very good video review of the i30 range. Would love to see the bottom model compared with say, the DCT 1.6 Turbo independent suspension model, with pricing.
This so called 'new' i30 is merely 'my wife's PD i30SR Premium with lipstick & rouge slapped on'. In short, an update model to keep 'a point of difference' for sales purposes. Great car but whilst the grille seems great on the i30 sedan (Elantra), it looks like a but a bit of 'overkill' on the more conservative i30 hatch.
Simone has a nice equipment pack
No estate version available which is in Europe?
No, we only have sedans and hatches.
Great review!
Why Australians are so beautiful
Music too loud competing with the voice making it nearly impossible to hear the review. Informative but not quite enjoyable.
You need better speakers/headphones the levels are just fine.
@@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt tv speakers already
@@philipc239 Tv, headphone, pc, bluetooth whatever they are I suggest you get something else
@@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt that's OK I'll watch smthg else 😅
@@philipc239 I felt the same...and it's good that you replied like this rather than fighting with that guy.
I wish they use Michelin tyres instead for i30 elite.
Hi Car tell, great video. But when is the new facelift for the I30 n line 1.6 manual coming out here in Sydney? I wanted the new facelift too but they only changed the interior for the i30 n line 1.6 manual. What the hell
My dream first car is this one. Now I just need to wait for the need to buy a car in my life

What Hyundai car?
This is hot looking hatchback. Looks resembles to i20
What about the i30 active? How much will it cost?
Can someone please tell me why one would buy an SUV when you can have this?
The N Line version is looking like a fun thing.
I hate SUVs, but this is a hatch.
Because people want to sit up high and want additional space so they get the SUV.
@@Penelope416 Meaning.. "I'm a shit driver with no confidence or ability and I think I have more space when I actually don't as I just paid heaps of money for a hatchback o stilts"
@@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt How are they bad drivers?
Different SUVs have more space than hatchbacks. If you have a family or need extra cargo space for luggage or you need more ground clearance ( people who live near the Atlantic region would understand this) then you would get an SUV. So I don't understand why you're bashing people for not getting a hatchback.
Grill is Awesome!
Its an excellent drive & a notch up from the outgoing PD2 , in terms of features, styling, & tech . More a refresh than a complete new model which is still about 3-4 or so yrs away. Engine wise, the 2.0 petrol is a capable but slightly laggy engine , but will probably suit a lot of people well. , but it does struggle a little with a full load, & can get thirsty. The 1.6 T-Gdi is a sweet little thing & ain't afraid to provide a bit of a kick when the right foots planted. Just a shame the diesel has been axed here , particularly for anyone doing high km's . I own a GD 4 crdi which is brilliant & hasn't caused a single issue. As far as the Turbo 3 pot is concerned, at this stage it won't be seen here anytime soon. I would have looked at this car again if the 1.6 Crdi had have remained in the lineup. Guess I'll have to find something else.
The grille does look like something of "a bad hair day". However, the i30 is one very good car. (my wife bought an SR Premium when they were a 'thing'.)
thanx for the review
Anytime I see woman reviewing a car I think about a hard working man not having dinner , tea in case of straya on time
Hard working man unable to cook a small range of excellent meals is a contradiction in terms
The front is overdone..way too much for my liking.
I think it looks slightly better than the N-Line😐
But the N-Line DCT Turbo seems like the one to go for.
It's so frustrating driving an underpowered NA vehicle especially in a hilly area.
You're getting shafted if you buy this, since the Tucson and i30 Sedan get the new and far better designed interior.
I wanted to say something sexist, creepy and desperate but the other guys have beaten me to it
You are hot I mean the car
Next episode on car tell Jenny will be doing a review on hyundia i30 gauanteed to get more views. As Jenny could do a review on watching grass grow and viewers will be happy to watch

The previous car was a garbage. I tested it 2019 and settled on a golf. Scratchy cheap plastics everywhere, basic infotainment system . Golf was overall very well built like a tank and more refined engine. Wonder why so many people are crazy behind this car. Hope the new one is better.
First like and First View!
I'm so proud of you! Your so lightning fast, will you have my babies you massive alpha male!?
HYUNDAI TELL TV!
Horrible gas guzzling lousy performance old normally aspirated engine kills this car. Trying to charge an additional $10K for a turbo is ridiculous considering that other manufacturers like the VW group supply turbos as standard throughout range
beautiful woman :)))
If you could sound any more desperate and creepy there fat boy?
Them pants are painted onto her.
Very dull looking thing.
Pls shat out me
