Nice tie , the F Fly or my version of the F Fly adding a cog de leon tail is my go to Fly. Can't begin to tell you how effective it is . Has caught fish everywhere I've fished . Thanks for sharing your version. Tightlines
Do you tie the cdc in with the feathers facing each other and 'on their side' and tied in the plane of the hook, as a traditional feather slip wing type orientation or is it flat i'e the concave underside of the cdc feathers sit flat on the top of each other on top of the hook?
I lay the feathers on top of each other so that they are curving in the same direction. For this one you don't need to get the tips perfectly aligned, but I like to get them at least close. Then tie them in on top of the shank, convex side up. You could easily experiment with convex vs concave up and see which you prefer.
Thanks for sharing. Nicely tied.
Thanks.
Nice tie fly and commentary thanks
Thank you, great to hear you like it.

Thanks, I’ll have to give your version a try soon.
