These are not the ''wise words'' but a word salad. Take off your rose-tainted glasses and look around. Not anyone can be free. For starters, in many countries it's still a crime to be gay, in others there's stigma against mental illness etc. Many live during war, also not exactly a freedom-breeding environment. Lastly, there is no such thing as an ''introvert'' or extrovert, despite whatever pop ''psychology'' wants you to believe. Also, if you're so ''regular'', you have no right to lecture those who have been ostracized or marginalized for who they are their whole lives and tell them how ''easy'' it is to be ''free''. No, it's not.

Priscilla for a new generation.
queen of the desert was a very well made film about the novelty of drag in a narrow minded place at a time when opinions were less forgiving, yet in spite of the entrenched cultural tunnel vision of the social environment of Oz at that time, the film shows that there was a natural curiosity from average people to try and understand and connect to the spirit of the queen of the desert... excuse the pun, but It took more balls to be openly queer or trans in the late 80's early 90's due to the still prevalent social perspective of aids being associated with homosexuality, so the storyline was really more focused on emotional charge and social reception... This Layla film has to punch a lot harder to make a dent as deep as Priscilla did at the time it was released, because firstly it is now just another drag flick, and secondly; if it really is aiming at touching the heart, it has a lot more mining to do to get to that diamond in this new era of public and social awareness where being gay or trans is no longer generally shunned and rejected, but rather, more integrated into the fabric of society. I doubt Layla would have a similar impact on its audience to what Priscilla had back in the 90's, but that can be said of any films about tough topics that were controversially brilliant back in the golden days of cinema... Flicks like clockwork orange, night porter, guess who's coming to dinner and The boys in the band.
