  • In this video I install new seals, Bearings, and Hub on my Speed Queen Washing machine.
It is not as easy as it is made out to be, especially if you have hard water. Everything had hardened, and calcified residue making it near impossible to take apart.
There are a few really great videos up on You Tube that I used to get this Job done. Those are linked below and I suggest that you watch those videos.

When someone has done this more than once, they know exactly what they are doing. They know the size and shape of every part that they need to remove. If you haven't done this before, be aware that there will be a ton of rock hard soap residue build up on the parts complicating their removal.
I even watched a video that did this as a demonstration on what appeared to be a brand new machine- the parts literally slid right off the spindle. Trust me, that's not happening.
Hopefully this video will give you some insight and help you get through this job successfully.
My washer has been functioning fine with the exception of a small leak in the seal area.
When I attempted to remove the nut that keeps the hub in place over the inner tub, I was surprised to find that the entire spindle and transmission were not locked in place as they were in virtually every other video. As I tried to unscrew the large nut, the entire spindle and transmission were moving. No idea why that is. Maybe my transmission is stripped although The washer is working fine. I cannot hold the agitator in place with a cycle going, so I am not sure why the transmission spins freely, but it made the job way more difficult..
So should you have this issue as well, watch the video to find out what I did to get the bolt off.
