    Nice training video, I have to replace mine tomorow, washer not ringing out clothes at spin, due to belt streched or weak spring. Replacing both.

    So our washer wouldn't spin or drain so we replaced the belt and they pulley (that was broken). Now it sounds like it is seizing when time to spin. The belt is moving very slowly, sometimes slipping and the motor is starting to smoke as its trying to spin. Any ideas as to what I do next?

    So this could be a reason why my speed queen sometimes doesn’t spin during wash cycles?

      Yes remove the front cover and check your belt. If you want to send me your model number I’ll find your belt part number

    Hi friend. My washing machine completely rotates the entire internal tank during washing and does not perform the washing operation correctly.
    what could be happening?

    Hi our 220V motor started to smoke and so we removed the motor and found black residue on the copper windings also the belt was worn to shreds my question what could have caused this problem ?

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  Год назад +1

      Hi Simon, the black residue is from the belt. From the friction and heat of the motor, the belt melted but i wouldn't worry about the residue. Just clean it off. It sounds like it may be overloaded or a bad/worn pulley. Replace the pulley if it's not turning perfectly smooth. The belts usually last about 6-7 years.

    How did you remove the pump so easily? It feels like there is something else securing the pump to the motor

      @@appliancerepairshortsmy situation ended up being that the center of the pump melted to the shaft and became glued to the shaft. I struggled for about an hour carefully wedging and extracting with a long flathead in order to break the melted plastic, but proved successful. Thank you so much.

    If the clips are missing does it have screws holding it up? No clips and it won't come free

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  7 месяцев назад

      Probably not, but you would have to order special screws. You would have to have the screw holes in the pump feet. Or just order the clips. Good luck

    What are all symptoms that could cause the speed queen washer not to spin only and agitate only and both agitate and spin.

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  6 месяцев назад +1

      To make sure I understand what you’re saying. The washer doesn’t spin in any cycle? So I would check the belt, the idler pulley. Remove the front cover and remove the drain pump. See now if it spins. Do you hear a humming? A bad capacitor. You can also check for power going to the motor. Send a model number. How is your lid switch?

    Thanks for the video! Got a question for you, what if the motor doesn’t spin at all when we switch it on, the belt is relatively okay/still on track BUT when I hit spin all it doesn’t is drain water, thanks!

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  Год назад +1

      Sorry I didn’t see your comment. You can also email me. Your question wasn’t too clear. If it is not spinning, check the lip switch, but also check for obstruction in the pump or the belt could be worn out also you have a capacitor, if you put it on spin and are able to partially spin by hand. If it spins, replace the capacitor. Hopefully you already got it

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  8 месяцев назад

      I would need a model number. The leaking is probably from the drip rail edge. You might have soap scum blocking the drainage and it is spilling over. I’ll tag you in a speed Queen maintenance video.

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  Год назад

      How old is your washer? You might have a brake that isn’t releasing. Try tapping it with a rubber mallet. Or you might have something caught in the pump or clothing in between the inner and outer basket

    How does the rod that puts tension on the belt assembly work
    My speed queen is spinning sometimes and some times not like the rod isnt moving to put tension on it some of the time what do i need to look into to fix that? Belt is fairly new. Spring on tensioner is kind of new although it only pulls it back its not for putting tension

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  10 месяцев назад

      I think you might have the belt on the wrong way. Or it it too big. When you say the belt is new, why are you changing it. What was the original problem?

    • @BRWfilms
      @BRWfilms 10 месяцев назад

      @@appliancerepairshorts so the washer has been working with the same belt for over a year now. It was a while back when I replaced it. Has been used on daily basis
      It appears to be on the tensioner and pullys. I felt it with my hand and looked at it
      I can put the washer on a spin cycle. Sometimes it goes into spin but most of the time only pumps. No spin. **BUT IF I MANUALLY MOVE THE TENSIONER WITH MY HAND IT SUDDENLY STARTS SPINNING**
      at that point it will spin until cycle is over. I've looked a bit online but haven't found anyone experiencing this so far. If you think it would help I could upload a video of the inside of washer while it's operating so you can see what I mean

    • @BRWfilms
      @BRWfilms 10 месяцев назад

      @@appliancerepairshorts I'm not changing it. What I meant was it was changed in the past the other one was freyd real bad so my point is that it's not a worn out belt causing it to slip. Spring was also replaced a year or so ago but washer has been used probably 100 times since then

      With the pump still on , a man’s large hands will not fit behind the capacitor and behind that belt! My hubby had me in there trying to help. My hands fit all the way in but once I found where the dang top should hang I could not push down hard enough to set the clamp! After a long long time trying hubby finally took the motor out. Whew! Running like a speed Queen!

    there’s not belt problem transmission not working properly and damaged belt

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  17 дней назад +1

      Not sure what you are trying to say here. I’m the tech here explaining what happened. The belt can break for many reasons, but not from a bad transmission. Belts break from bad or frozen pumps or something that causes the basket to be stuck. A bad transmission is the opposite and the washer will operate, but the agitator is not moving.

    • @therepairphone
      @therepairphone 17 дней назад

      @ I had the same problem on my washing machine. The transmission was stuck, it didn't move and the belt broke, we changed the belt, the same thing happened again, we changed the transmission and everything was fine.
      and you are right about that
