    This is so helpful. Was talking to a service tech yesterday and he asked if I could do a spin only on the machine. I didn't know I could until seeing your video. Bonus that now I also know how to rinse and spin! Thank you!

      Purchased a brand new AWN63RSN116TW01 (TR5003WN is the "product code" for this model) . . . . and it failed almost immediately out of the box. On mine - the door close switch is a very very critical adjustment. Literally - the door close switch "closes" in just the last millimeter or two of the door being closed. You can hear a distinct "click" when the switch closes - unplug the machine if you do this - the "click " is purely mechanical - NOT the sound of relays activating in the powered on state. If you DONT hear that click - the switch is not in the "closed" state and nothing will happen. IF the switch somehow transitions to an open state during the wash cycle - the thing will stop completely and flashing lights - I've been unable to figure out how to advance the thing WITHOUT closing that switch which required me to pull the front cover, lift the top cover and then "close" the switch by hand. I've done this a couple of times in the few weeks that we've had the washer. Yes - I DID reach out to SQ - multiple times I have completed the customer service form on their web site - included the model and serial number of my machine and inquiring as to how I go about obtaining warranty service. NOBODY HAS ANSWERED ANY OF MY REQUESTS - EVER. It's a sad state of affairs. The lid close and latch logic is waaaaaaay over-engineered with NO thought whatsoever given to the scenario of a possible fault. There needs to be a way to do a re-boot,., e.g., drain and spin the thing and release the door lock - to get to a troubleshooting state (clue for factory engineering: It's tough to slide the washer out to work on it when it's full of water!!!!) Mechanically - this is a nice machine. The soft/firmware design was done by someone who has never used AND SERVICED a machine in a practical setting. "Hidden" functionality(ies) where you turn a knob and hold a button (some call these "easter egg" functionality) are terrible. All functions need to be user accessible from the front panel . . .. . just add another switch or two - so you can label the function!!!!!!!

    This is really pathetic that you can't make this machine rinse and spin. Back in the day you had a dial WASH and it would wash, spin, rinse and spin. SPIN and it would spin. RINSE and it would rinse and spin. All for about 200 bucks. I paid almost a thousand dollars for this machine and it can't perform the simplest of actions. Fill with water, agitate and spin out. That's what we used to call the RINSE cycle. And you could make your washer do it, at will. I WANT MY OLD WASHER BACK!

    Hi, Great video! I have this model from 2019. But this is not working, likely because my lid lock assembly has fallen into the cavity below, just outside the drum. I can see it with a flashlight, not far down but can't get it. It broke away from the mount when I forced the lid open after what I thought was a normal load. It had never spun and was full of water. So I think it won't spin because it thinks the lid is open. Any suggestions??

I emailed SpeedQueen and asked if I could cancel the cycle as soon as the initial spin is over and then start a new wash cycle. I was told that I could not do that because "there is a chance of hindering the computer and where it is at." I have this exact same washer and I hate it! I bought this last June 2020 after reading many good reviews about Speed Queen washers. I guess I missed the reviews about this model the tr3000. It doesn't get my clothes clean, these are clothes that got clean in my previous washer. It also doesn't take anything for it to become unbalanced and it is a bother to go through all the steps to get the machine to stop even then after redistributing the clothes it still doesn't work so I end up having to put it on a cycle that uses very little water. The lid lock feature is a big bother also. I am having a bad case of buyer's remorse because I paid a lot of money for this machine

    • @pamandpaulworldwide1037
      @pamandpaulworldwide1037 2 года назад +2

      Yes, sadly I am unhappy with the TC500 top load washer that I bought in Oct of 2021... the only real benefit is that it DOES fill with lots of water which is the main reason I bought it (because their front-loader that I really wanted only fills with a few gallons of water because of the ridiculous gov't water restrictions/regulations which can NOT wash clothes properly)... gov't needs to keep their business out of our lives once again. The TC500 is too limited... like it doesn't allow the options for longer washing and rinsing cycles, the rinsing cycle needs to spray more water onto the clothes from a few different directions allowing better rinsing overall because my clothes right now come out with all kinds of lint & dirt STILL on them with this TC500 sadly. In an ideal world, I could go back to when they WERE making front loaders that worked & lasted a long time AND used more water to clean the clothes... they/gov't screwed with an already successful system... and now we the masses suffer, once again.

    So, for this Washer, when holding the Start/Pause Button for more than 3 seconds to force into a Cycle, Normal Eco = Rinse & Spin, while Heavy Duty/Delicate/Permanent Press = Drain & Spin.

      @kathrynwhite9139 3 года назад +1

      Just to make sure I'm not missing anything- when you do this extra rinse/spin on Normal Eco, the tub still doesn't fill all the way, correct? It just sprays some water and spins?

  • @MOAB-UT
    @MOAB-UT 2 года назад

    I came here to listen to hear if the tR series was just as loud at the DRAIN/Spin mode as my tC5 is. It appears to be the case. The PUMP is likely the same one. Powerful but drones on a bit. Luckily that mode is only ~3 minutes. The rest of the time I don't find my TC5 too loud at all- and it cleans far better than any tR SQ machine.

    • @gregg2742
      @gregg2742 3 месяца назад +1

      The tc reverses the motor and uses a plastic body pump run by a 1/2 hp motor . The tr series uses an electric drain pump so its a bit quieter . The tc5 opperates like the old amana and kenmore with the main motor belt driven pump and direct drive pumps run a bit louder due to reversing and pump styles

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT 3 месяца назад

      @@gregg2742 I know. I don't mind it being slightly louder. It cleans in half the time and is reliable like a tank. If anything, I like the noise. It tells me when to add the white vinegar. First stage, I add a little baking soda. On the final rinse fill, I add a little vinegar. Keeps clothes clean and soft and does not clog the machine at all. No smells. We had a front loader Samsung and we used liquid detergent and fabric softener. It made for a sticky mess in the machine which started to smell badly over time- even after we replaced the door gasket. Eventually PC Richard honored their warranty- after 8 years! Took that money to buy the TC. In 2 years it has not gone out of balance even once. Amazing machine. Love the sturdiness and metal inner tubs. It's a heavy machine. Not fancy, but it just works. Do you have one?

  • @jimbarrofficial
    @jimbarrofficial 3 года назад +5

    Amazing how much Speed Queen does not tell you about their stupid machines. We have an issue where the machine stops after wash, then all 4 lights flash. We try unplugging it and waiting, but unfortunately, we can't fix this condition unless we remove all clothes from the washer wet, then leave unplugged for 30 minutes, then run the cycle empty. We are trying to get warranty service, but nobody really wants to fix this. I do not like Speed Queen's customer service. We believe something is wrong, but frankly, even though the washer is less than 3 years old, we are likely going to recycle it and bite the bullet and buy a new one due to its unserviceability.
