I have the commercial set with the old fashion dial. No computers. It is tough. Reminds me of my moms old maytag of the 1970s. Hers lasted over 27 years and she washed a lot when we were kids.
Can anyone tell me if they have the classic clean or the perfect wash on a second floor laundry room? Was told the motor is too heavy for American made home. We have a custom home but how can I know for sure before I buy one?
Single guy. Bought the TR7 because I wanted all of the options for my clothes. Gentle to heavy duty. I considered the TR5 yet it appeared really tough on clothes. I'm almost 2 years into the TR7 and I could not be happier. TONS of washing options. I've even experimented with bar clothes full of ketchup, soy sauce, mustard and more. They come out perfect. I think a lot of people don't understand how to use washing machines. You can't just throw clothes in and expect perfection. There are times when you need to pre-wash, or soak or use detergent enhancers, temperature, time and so much more. My TR7 has handled it all and I'm very pleased with the results.
My speed queen tr5003wn washer is lid locked and is empty . Noticed problem when I went to do a load ?!? No light to indicate a problem . Unit is 5 months old
I had a 10-year-old Kenmore washer that I thought worked pretty well. I was planning on (and saving up for) getting a new washer, when it broke down - sounded like the bearings were breaking down, and it started to leak internally. I decided to get a second-hand washer just to fill in the time until I could finish saving up for a new one. I bought a 12-year-old Speed Queen AWS44NW washer from someone who had just gotten a new one, for only $50 - he probably could have asked more for it, but he really just wanted the old one out of his garage. It needed some cleaning up on the exterior, and the fabric-softener dispenser was really gunked up (clean it out regularly, folks, it snaps off of the top of the agitator and snaps apart easily for cleaning). Once I had cleaned it all up, it looked good as new. Also, it was a LOT heavier than my old washer, so a bit of a wrestling match to get it moved in. That extra weight is a clue to how they are built. Then I started using it. HOLY RAVIOLI! I had thought that my clothes, towels, and bedding were just getting old and dull looking. After washing in the SQ, with what they now are calling the "classic clean" system, they all look and feel almost new. The fabrics look so much brighter and cleaner. My old Kenmore hadn't been doing as much of a good job as I had thought. Same laundry detergent as before. Now I'm thinking that I'll just put that plan for a new washer on hold for a while, and just keep using the SQ. They really are built to last. If I do decide to get a new one, it will definitely be a SQ, even though they're more expensive than most other brands.
Love my commercial SpeedQueen with mechanical timer, no computer krap, and it just works! I bought it to replace a POS WHirlpool HE washer I bought not knowing exactly what I was getting into, the HE washer was total KRAP, it figured 3" of water in the tub was going to by some miracle wash two win blankets and sheets??? no matter what I set the thing on, "deep water" was maybe 3-1/2" it never filled more, I wound up disabling the stupid lid lock so I could dump in three 5 gallon pails of water to FILL the tub for a REAL wash, I put up with having to do that for about 2 years, finally I had enough as well as the near one hour wash time it took and bout the SpeedQueen commercial washer, I put the WHirlpool on FB market place for FREE, take it away, and set it out by the curb, it still looked brand new, it sat there for over a week- NOBODY took it, not even for scrap! I wound up hauling back to my back yard and breaking it apart and cuting it up to take to the srap yard with some other scrap I had. NEVER buy an H.E. washer!!!! if you want to WASH clothes they MUST be submerged in the soapy water so they can move around, drizzling water on them sitting in 3 inches of water like the H.E. washer does is a joke! it might wash 2 pairs of pants and a tee shirt, but it sure as hell isnt going to wash 2 twin blankets and a couple of sheets!
Best explanation I have come across fair, unbiased and clearly defined. I have been fortunate enough to own both versions and find the differences between them minimal. I must say I did prefer 2019 perfect wash to the classic clean, it’s more refined more versatile smoother and gentler on the clothes. If you’re a sports athlete, construction worker and have kids that play in the backyard with mud then get the classic clean. Just my opinions.
I just got my SQ TC 3 series brand new ! I've never had a washer this quite ! My clothes have never been so clean, what a beast ! Our Clothes come out of the dryer so fresh it's like spring every time we do laundry! My wife absolutely loves this set , this set has that classic look my grandma would be proud of ! The reviews are great , your reps do an excellent job of explaining the different models also , just an all around good feeling from them , props to your reps ! We've never owned SQ before, but we've seen them in every laundry mat from Ohio to Arizona and your representatives done such a great job explaining the quality and years of operation these machines offer even showing the inner components of the washers ! Who does that ? Overall excellence imo ! I recommend to anyone looking for a new set , start with the base model of the SQ you'll get a work horse right off the bat . Yours truly, Jd......
We have a 2014 Speed Clean washer that fills up with water just like the old days. The best washer purchase we ever made. Only few hundreds bucks more than the junk that was available at the time, and 100% worth it.
My husband and I bought this same washer after ample research, the great reviews (as shown here) and stellar reputation. It was delivered and installed on 12/27/21. On 1/28/22 it stopped working in the middle of wash and we had to manually drain it. We were perplexed. We had not done anything different from the 10,000 other loads of laundry we have done in our lifetime w/o a machine breaking 1/2 way through the wash. We called the retailer and they flat out refused to help. We called SpeedQueen who also refused to help but gave us a list of their 3rd party approved repairmen. A repair man came on 2/4/22 and he look at it for 5 minutes and said - and I damn near quote - "yeah. You did not do anything wrong. You just got a machine that has faulty parts. Sometimes that just happens. I am going to have to replace the whole bottom half." WELL its now 3/3/22 and he claims he submitted the warranty information to SpeedQueen but has been given no updates or ETA's as to when (OR EVEN IF) we are going to receive the parts or when it could possibly be fixed. We paid over 1.5k for this machine all for it to wash maybe 15 loads of normal-everyday-household laundry and then die. WTH happened?! We are now just trying to do a chargeback on our credit card for delivery of faulty goods with a refusal from the retailer we paid to help. NO CLUE WHAT IS HAPPENING!
Update - the washer guy came out for the 4th time 2 weeks ago and he was here for nearly 4 hours. He replaced every part in the bottom half and then he went to do a test wash. He turned the damn machine on and nothing!! The new motor he just installed wouldn't start. He believes Speed Queen sent him a faulty motor. He showed us that the box it came in had grease stains which he said is not normal. He ordered yet another motor. It did come in and he is supposed to be here today to fix it. I'll keep you all updated. Going into almost a whole 1/3 of a yr without a working washer.
Which version do you have? So sorry you have had such a terrible experience, hoping it gets successfully resolved soon. Wish I could help, just another consumer looking for the best option.
@@Hankandrex this is a horrible story to read. Please continue to keep us updated. I hope you get this resolved soon. You should also complain to customer service about this so they can increase your warranty or replace the model completely.
@@j-towngip2951 its the same washer in this video. I do not see a model name on the front. I can give you the model number if you are really interested. thanks for the inquiry and reading my story.
@@NicooRico I am super annoyed. The repair guy came back on April 8, 2022. He was here for 1/2 hour installing the new parts. He went to start it and SAME THING. The motor just would not kick on and turn. So he called his boss and SQ Support. SQ Support suggested he try AGAIN to fix this lemon machine. They told him to order a new harness, a third motor, and a board. The new theory is the harness failed because it is not sending the minimum required amount of power needed to start the motor. Well here we are on May 6, 2022 and neither SQ or the repair man can tell us when the dang parts will arrive. They claim they are on back order and its all just supply chain issues. Ok, I get it. But we have been trying to work with you on fixing the machine since January, 2022. At what point do you just send us a new machine? Well they can't do that for some BS Reason. So I just got back from Lowes. I broke down and bought the cheapest machine they had in stock - a super basic, top loading Amana for $575 including taxes and delivery- to be delivered and installed tomorrow (nearly 1/3 of what we paid of this hunk of junk) and we are moving the lemon machine into the garage. Going to the laundromat was not the end of the world but I am feeling insecure about going there since someone stole a $10 out of my basket last week while I had my back turned for 20 seconds adding detergent to a machine. $575 is totally worth me not having to run to the washeteria every 5-7 days and haul around my body weight in laundry. We will sell one of the machines once it gets fixed. I feel so cheated by this company. I was so excited about buying this product back in November/December 2021.
I love my Speed Queen washer. Unlike some other machines, the Speed Queen uses water to wash clothes. Most other machines do not fill with enough water to clean the clothes. Previously I had a high efficiency front loader and clothes would come out with crusty food still on them because it used very little water. The front loader also stunk because the outer tub became full of dirt and bacteria. My Speed Queen cleans everything perfectly. It has water level settings and also a setting where it senses how much water to fill based on load size which I use all the time. it is eco friendly and still very efficient and effective at cleaning my clothes. And it spins the water out of the clothes much better than any other machines that I have had in the past, which saves time and energy cost in the dryer. Speed Queens are so well built that I am confident that it will last me 25 years. I highly recommend Speed Queen, it is the best machine made today!
I purchased a home in 2010 and have 4 children and husband and wife/ I’m remodeling my home now and would not ever think of buying any other brand of water or dryer >> I’m sure I could get a decent price for my old set if I choose to sell them but I’ll be gifting them to another family > thank you speed queen for building a durable 100% dependable product
I bought the TR7 Speed Queen washing machine last year, after a frustrating battle with my HE one. (I could literally pull out a set of ‘ washed’ jeans and find one leg clean and one stained! ) When we remodeled, we decided to bite the bullet and buy the top SQ available. And I have to say it is the BEST washer I have ever owned! I recommend it to everyone. It gets laundry spotless and is quiet. I ❤️❤️❤️ it!
Thank you for sharing your story! We are so glad to hear you are enjoying your Speed Queen washer - quietness is a good point many people forget when discussing Speed Queen!
Hello! I was wondering if you’re still just as happy with your TR7 Speed Queen washing machine? Also, do you have the matching dryer to go with it? And if so, would you recommend it as well? :)
We want the classic clean, we made a mistake 4 years ago and bought a maytag bravos xl which has been a 600.00 piece of junk. It does not clean because it doesn't use enough water. So we want the decision to use the amount of water we choose. Speed Queen is the answer with the classic clean and with the transmission.
We made the same mistake too...we purchased the big one though it was 1,000 a huge mistake a piece of junk it leaves detergent on your clothes its real bad...I am going to have to give it away...we had it checked three times but Maytag said that is the way the washer worked I also had it exchanged twice... I may just purchase a speed queen...I believe it is noisy though...
3 year old Maytag on the way out. Bearings are bad. Repair people said not worth it to fix and that these companies manufacture them like that deliberately so they can’t easily be fixed and you have to buy another one. When this goes will look at the TC5 classic clean. You just can’t beat having a true agitator to efficiently clean clothes.
We have the Maytag bravos XL washer and dryer pair as well. We moved into a new rental house and weren’t sure which machines to buy yet… And my husband came across this beautiful… Absolutely beautiful looking machines for $40 for the pair! We jumped on it… Only to realize a short time later they should’ve paid us $40 to take it. I am very grateful that we did not buy the set new. You get no water… You can’t fill this humongous wash tub even halfway full of clothing because your top layer of clothing will stay almost dry… It doesn’t even get thoroughly wet let alone washed if you put too many clothing items in the washer. So I ask you… What good are the HE extra roomie washtubs yes you can’t wash more clothing and if it doesn’t give you enough water. They’re just for show is what I’ve come to realize. Because they sure as heck are not about performance. These new HE machines are an absolute joke. And it’s being done to us on purpose ..it goes right along with all of the other garbage that’s going on in this country right now. Don’t get me started.… Oh one more thing I had read a hack about how to make the bravos washer actually fill up with more water … So I tried it… And I would not recommend it. Basically another reviewer who has the Maytag bravos XL had written that she pours two or 3 gallons of water on top of her laundry in the machine so that you can trick the machine to adding more water because the laundry weighs more. It actually worked… But what she doesn’t realize and what I learned is you will ruin the machine in time. Not a big loss since it’s such a travesty anyway… But now my machine has some damage and I’m holding my breath trying to make it work until I can save up for the SQTC5 set. So all you bravos owners out there… Stop adding the water… The Maytag bravos suspension cannot handle it.
Thank you for this information. I bought into the new front loader pretty units everybody sells. I'm glad they are gone. I purchased a speed queen set in 2016 and I simply use them. They work like units are supposed to and just do the job with no hassle. Today I did a load of whites and they weren't bad so I used the normal eco cycle and for some reason I checked on it and noticed the water was cold. OH great hot water tank is out I thought. Within a minute I figured out it was the washer doing this and a quick internet search led me here. Problem solved in 10 minutes and the washer is working as designed. Guess you learn something new every day. For anybody reading my comment, buy speed queen. I don't endorse many products but I do with these. Several coworkers have purchased them after discussions we have had. All are super happy and they all had the "fancy" front loaders too.
We bought a SQ 432 washer in 2017. Best washer we've ever had, it's an absolute beast. It can handle everything we throw at it & then some. OF look & water usage aren't negatives for us. What we care about is whether it works & this one certainly does, like it SHOULD. We won't be buying any other brand, SQ is the bomb!
@@CashMcHenry I'm not sure - the full model # is AWN432SPWH - but I do know it has a lid-lock (which I dismantled, lol) and an agitator. My 4 kids all use it & overfill it sometimes (even tho I've told them not to repeatedly), but it takes the abuse like a champ.
If the Apollo astronauts depended on the idiots who engineered most of today's consumer appliances to get them to the moon they would not have made it out of earth's atmosphere. In all likelihood they would have been blown up in an explosion at Kennedy Space Center.
I bought a Speed Queen after suffering the disappointment of a Maytag Neptune washer which I learned to hate! I absolutely love the Speed Queen washer.
Speed Queen machines are also designed for the commercial market. Meaning they keep the components as similar as possible. This allows them to support models for decades instead of a few years. EG: The impeller in a speed quieen hasn't changed for 20 years that I can think of.
Thank you for this very informative video. My classic washer and dryer were installed today and I was worried because the washer is a bit noisy. Now I know that’s normal. Love the shorter wash cycle. 👍🏻
Can you close the door to your washroom- is it still too noisy? I am trying to decide TR5 or TC5. Our clothes are rarely very dirty but come on for over 1k, I can't believe I am justifying a quieter machine...that does NOT clean well.
Classic is the way to go if you work at a job where you get real dirty, e.g a mechanic. If you just work the office job, the perfect wash is all you'll need.
Classic sounds great, my buddy in Florida said his lasted 13 yrs, how crazy & no repairs, my GE is going in 4 yrs, and store warranty doesn't want to repair it. Im convinced Speed Queen
We bought our SQ washer and dryer 10 years ago. I wouldn't own another brand. My mom is finally ready to replace her w&d, and of course I'm having her buy SQ. These will be the first new w&d she's ever owned.
Thanks for the vinegar trick. I just recently remodeled my laundry room. Had the Speed Queen draining into the slop sink prior. I actually had to cut the hose at an angle so it didn’t splash all over in that sink because these machines really have a strong water pump. Basically I cut the whole smooth end part off of the drain and cut an angle at the corrugated part to calm the water down some for the sink. I also used a small c-clamp to hold the hose in place so it wouldn’t walk out of the sink. After the remodel, we installed a 2 inch standpipe with a proper vent and I just cut the washer drain hose square again. First load of laundry I had duds! I took the drain out and measured it against the wall where the p-trap was….i was right at the water level of the trap. I think my issue really was due to the hose going down too far in the stand pipe and just barely in the water stored by the p-trap. I cut another 1.5’ of hose off the drain and no more issues. I pictured it being the same as a kid blowing bubbles into a root beer soda drink. If that straw is right below the surface, you can make a ton of bubbles into the surface of the soda. Raise that straw up a few inches and nothing! I never realized how much air these machines push out during the rinse cycle. Just throwing this theory out as a possibility. It “seemed” to fix my issue! I will be using the vinegar trick every so often as well to keep excess detergent in the machines and lines to a minimum.! Thanks for the video!
Good to see you posting videos again. I hope that everyone at DA came through the first wave okay. Here's hoping everyone will stay well through the second wave.
Thank you so much for the kind words - the DA family wishes the same to you and yours 🙏 It's scary to think of a second wave but hopefully we all can move on from this even stronger, with eyes wide open, and more appreciation for the little things in life 😊
After using a “high efficiency (what an oxymoron)” Maytag machine with extremely dissatisfying results, my next machine will definitely be a classic Speed Queen!
This video was UNBELIEVABLY informative. I have two questions: 1. I'm torn between the Classic Clean and the newer, tweaked TR5 model. If I opt for the TR5 model, how can I be sure I'm getting the newer, tweaked version rather than a model re-done in 2018? 2. I'm noticing that some appliance stores push you to buy a warranty even though Speed Queen offers a terrific one. Why would anyone want to buy a warranty if Speed Queen offers such a terrific one? Isn't this just a rip off? Thank in advance for your answers!
Good questions Doreen Mott! On our website, for example, we identify older models in the product description (2018 version/2020 version) or mark them as "Retired" so you know you're getting the correct version. As for purchasing a warranty, with Speed Queen, it comes down to peace of mind and your personal track record with appliances. Before opting in, ask your salesperson or check the warranty information to see what specifics are covered. Hope that helps!
I'm looking for a new washer and dryer and these are for me!!! I have a well so I don't care about water saving because it goes right into the septic and back into the earth. Also, made in America!!! I love the old school full fill tub and simple no frills. Really like the seperate agitator and tub. Going to buy mine today. TC5000WN and the DC5 dryer. Well worth the money.
on the TC5 if you open the lid and leave it open for lets say 30 min for a soak . does it auto drain the washer ? my current may tag does this and i hate it
The lid is locked as soon as the water is done filling on the Perfect Clean, not just during the spin. It's incredibly annoying! There is also a sensor that turns the water off when the lid is open, so if you're used to cleaning the detergent cup off in the water flow, think again. There is no way to keep the cycle from starting once the water is filled, so if you are use to doing that as a manual pre-soak it's not possible.
I have aTR 7000W and on the right hand upper corner there is the option to Pause the Start Button ... at this point the lid unlocks in a few seconds and you can do what you want then press it again to continue. Do you not have this?
Don’t use a cup….just “eyeball” the amount of detergent you need. Also let the water fill and agitate for a few minutes then lift the lid and it will soak as long as you like! Did this with my Maytag for 27 years!
One day I'll own a set of these work horses. Hands down, best quality and when it comes down to brass tax, these machines take the golden crown. No gimmicks
My new TR7 arrives next week I can hardly wait..I'll post what I think about the performance..We're going to be happy.. I had a Maytag fo 32 years and can you believe that it never needed a repair. Well it finally bit the dust this week so I opted for Speed Queen as they are the number #1 washer/dryer on the market. Forget Maytag..it's been bought over by whirlpool an heard their appliances break down in less than 8 years..This is the junk they make now..My old one was made here in USA, not china! and so is Speed Queen..Proud to say this!!1
Speed queen “commercial” dryer is going strong ! It’s close to 15 years old with no issues. When the washer gives out a GE it will be the speed queen commercial series to replace it.
Awesome video! I have found on the coin operated Speed Queens, the control board settings only allow hot water for maybe a 1/3 of the fill up then switches to warm and cold soon after. Property owners and their tennants have figured thus out and complained. So, I had to call Alliance service center to get the proper toggle switches on the board set to fill hot all the way if you just want hot. There is nothing comparable for reliable coin operated washers and dryers other than Speed Queen.
I have two questions does the water keep filling the tub when you open the door also, can you adjust the water level to the amount of closure putting in it does it have a small medium and large load water level knob or does it just have one level? Thanks.
When draining does the tub spin so dirt and soap goes out through the sides of the tub? OR does the tub stop, water drain out (filtering dirt through clean clothes) and then the high speed spin to extract water?
Barry I agree with that Whirlpool/maytag washer but the old school maytag is a winner. I have one over 25 years and still running like the day I bought it.
Did you order it online or at a store? I heard of you get it online you always have to go through them for any warranty stuff which could be a hassle vs a local store. No idea if that's true though..
asap spacecraft omg. It’s great. Runs good. Cleans well. The TR7 is the best washer I’ve ever owned!!! Definitely a must have if you’re In the market for one!
Thank for the very informative video. I really appreciate it. I am trying to decide which SQ to buy. you mentioned being able to bypass water temp on normal/eco setting, how?
When you select Prewash, does it wash twice, leaving the clothes completely clean when the washer stops? Or do you need to wash them in a completely new cycle?
Wondering if the Classic style's tub would be large enough to wash a sleeping bag, or several saddle pads? Love the idea of going back-to-basics, but we have a LOT of laundry that needs large capacity.
@@heathermunoz6282 Same answer though I just got a TC5 and it holds and actually washes a surprisingly decent amount of cloths. I think they say up to 11lbs. A larger tub does not always mean a better washing job. It means the tub is larger and that is about it. In a side by side they put the SQ up against a larger capacity and it did well. Also, the TC5 does not go out of balance often unlike other machines- even with the larger tubs. Weight out your typical load. If it comes in around 11lbs or less, you should be good to go. Also, keep in mind, I can do two full loads in about an hour. It use to take over 1 hour to do a single load in my old machine. It had a larger tub but was terrible. TC5 is a great machine.
Washed 8 pairs of canvas work pants 5 shirts several pairs of underwear and probably 4 pairs of socks. Will fit a king size comforter in it no problem and wash it better than the laundromat.
Thinking of buying one, but it better be the ultimate supreme washing machine for the price they are asking, ive heard reviews some ppl weren't satisfied and that the clothes were coming out linty
My wife and I are Senior Citizens and we’re interested in a Speed Queen, but not sure which one is best for only us. What would you recommend in a washer & dryer?
I’m happy I accidentally ran to the speed queen brand for dryers and washers but I’m trying to also find kitchen appliances as durable and long-lasting as Speed queen like refrigerators dishwashers stoves microwave etc. do you have any info on durable kitchen appliances?
Hi Hector Romero! Glad to hear this! We have a bunch of "best appliance" videos, including wall ovens, ranges, dishwashers and more. Durability, quality and longevity are number one factors we consider when choosing our top picks. Hope it helps: ruclips.net/p/PL-l1uoO8m7nGgAxLAa-kT1VucF_8F9NLx
Designer Appliances I checked out a few of these videos on the link you sent me and sorry that is not the information I was actually looking for I’m trying to find just long lasting appliances I don’t care about technology or looks Is there a commercial grade option that I can use for residential appliances in the kitchen that you might know about?
I am currently trying to decide which SQ model to get. I've had a Samsung washer for about 7 years and I hate it. Nothing like washing clothes in a cycle that takes almost two hours only to find dirty clothes at the end of it. I want to know that when I wash clothes the machine is actually washing/cleaning what I put in it. It's kind of like the smell of Tide you know it's clean when it smells like Tide or cleaning the kitchen with Pine Sol. LOL
I ditched my HE for the classic clean (commercial) series , with an insanely long extended warranty...and I haven't looked back. Unlike the previous HE, this machine actually cleans my clothes.
@BrandAccount We would never buy another front loader. Our Electrolux smelled bad. We are very clean people and also cleaned it- changed out the big gasket and nothing helped. We have a TC5 now and would not trade it for anything. One tip, we use very little high efficiency liquid detergent, as in a teaspoon or two. We also do not ever put anything else in it- no fabric softener especially. The FF7 is a nice machine though if I needed the capacity maybe as a second machine for dirty work clothes or something. I don't mind a little noise either- that way I know it's working. People said the TC5 was loud- it does not bother us at all and we sleep 10 feet away from it. We literally do not even close the door when it's running. I like it!
@BrandAccount No worries. It's decent for sure if you need a front loader. Pricey as well. For us, top loaders are the way to go. Just easier to keep clean. We are never going back...but get whatever you like.
@BrandAccount You specifically cited FF7 which IS a front loader. Yes, Speed Queen is a very good brand, and especially the TC5. By far, their best machine. You may have meant SQ in general but you said FF7. Be more clear next time. Cheers!
What’s the warranty on your commercial machine? Is it a higher capacity machine? These high efficiency machines, while a noble thought, are for the birds. I I bought a high efficiency LG dishwasher and it takes over an hour to wash the damn dishes and they’re still not clean. I even rinse and scrub the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher! I’ll never buy another LG product. I should have gotten my old Hot Point dishwasher fixed. I never had a problem with it cleaning the dishes.
Just bought the classic clean but the clothes are super wet compared to my old one. In the dryer the clothes would dry in 35 minutes or less. On the two loads I did today it took over 2 hrs to semi dry. Not very happy 😢
Are the front load speed queens any good? Our family likes front loaders but if sped queens front loads aren’t built like the top we will get a top loader.
I love my TR7 set. Best washer and dryer set that I have ever owned. Highly recommended! Is there a setting that will leave the water running while the lid is up?
What happens if your washer is far from the hot water line and that there is a lot of cold water left in the line? Would that mean the hot wash is still a cold/warm wash?
Hi Mary, yes all models have a small load and delicate cycle option. You can see pictures of the control panel here to see exactly what settings you'll get for each model: blog.designerappliances.com/speed-queen-washer/
I bought mine going on 3 years ago. I had trouble with my Whirlpool constantly getting out of balance. I never had that trouble with my Speed Queen. I bought the entry level model. I like the way these are made. They are made like tanks. You pay more but they are better
I'll save you the research. Get a TC5 the DC5 set washer and dryer. I've watched every video on RUclips they all say the same one. And I litteraly just bought it 3 days ago. About to wash the first cycle 😊
Just watched the video on how to PROPERLY clean the dispenser. I learned the dispenser pulls apart for cleaning, but you must SQUEEZE the top housing to separate it.
Yes, I recently purchased a TR3000WN. You mentioned that the Door locks on the final spin. However, and maybe my unit is newer, but my unit door must be closed (locked) in order to operate at all times. You can reopen the door during the beginning, to add more wash, however, you must close the door and re-push the blue start button to resume the cycle. I would love to watch the beginning cycle on my new TR3000? The main reason for the Lock is because the TR models have direct motors and turn at higher RPMs. The TC5000 has a transmission and will stop the drum in 3-5 sec. after opening. Also, something we just experienced with our new TR3000. My wife notice the unit stopped and would not drain or do a final spin. A full tube of water. After calling Allison, (no success) I figured out to unplug the unit for 15 sec. Let the unit recalibrate And try forced a final spin. This was done by pushing and holding down until the blue light switched to spin cycle and red light door on, (and door closed) I walked away in frustration, thinking I just paid over $850.00 for a washer and thing is acting up after 8 washes /10 days. Then to my surprise, I heard the unit come on and spin everything out. Since that time I completed 2 other washers to make sure it is operated fine. These units are well built, and clean great. The 3.2 stainless steel tub hold more than most other larger washers on the market. But this Eco Settings, Door lock, Alone with this fluky programing solution to force a final wash is something I'm not use to. Maybe, I should of spent another $300 more and have peace of mind with a classic TC5000. Please respond.
We have a "Classic Clean" style from 2012. Never needed service to date. Only issue? Wife says spin cycle does not thoroughly do the job in removing water. I am looking at the belt and checking info on this issue.
Is there a TR7004WN or only the dryer is now 7004? Have they fixed the heating element dr7003we issue on the DR7004WE? Does the perfect wash still wash better than a non speed queen topload w. deepfill?
I have the TR5 coming today --- and I know I'm old when I can't wait for a new washer to arrive! 😄😆 Had a Whirlpool Cabrio for 9 years from Sears, but that thing gave me constant aggravation almost from day 1. Never quite happy with how it cleans. But especially in the past 3 months, plastic hub failures/replacements - seems the steel shaft was the cause of that. Anyway, final straw and It's just time to get that headache out my basement! **oh, the 5 year warranty...wow!. As compared to the lame 1 yr warranty on that old Cabrio. Just a no brainer to get something that seemes to be built very well from all the reviews I've seen!)
I was an Appliance repairman for 27 years. He is telling you the truth about the Classic clean. Bullet proof tank.
was speed queen the brand that you had services calls on the LEAST amount of time ?
which brand did you notice always required service ?
Okay then why did the classic clean warranty less than the TC 7?
I have the commercial set with the old fashion dial. No computers. It is tough. Reminds me of my moms old maytag of the 1970s. Hers lasted over 27 years and she washed a lot when we were kids.
Which model uses the least amount of water?
Good to hear. Waivering between the 5 or the 7!
You should buy tc5
I live in south Africa and i have had my Speedqueen for 38 years . I love it
I bought mine 45 years ago. No parts available to. Pitty is soo expensive. Cannot afford a new one
🇺🇸
My speed queen tr5003wn washer is lid locked and is empty . Noticed problem when I went to do a load ?!? No light to indicate a problem . Unit is 5 months old
What can I do ?
@@guitarman2669try unplugging it and let it go back to factory settings.
I have had my Speedqueen for 38 years and I love it.
You got a great deal.
I'm so happy to have purchased my new Speed Queen set! I can't wait to throw my first laundry load in them! I really have high expectations!
Love my commercial SpeedQueen with mechanical timer, no computer krap, and it just works!
I bought it to replace a POS WHirlpool HE washer I bought not knowing exactly what I was getting into, the HE washer was total KRAP, it figured 3" of water in the tub was going to by some miracle wash two win blankets and sheets??? no matter what I set the thing on, "deep water" was maybe 3-1/2" it never filled more, I wound up disabling the stupid lid lock so I could dump in three 5 gallon pails of water to FILL the tub for a REAL wash, I put up with having to do that for about 2 years, finally I had enough as well as the near one hour wash time it took and bout the SpeedQueen commercial washer,
I put the WHirlpool on FB market place for FREE, take it away, and set it out by the curb, it still looked brand new, it sat there for over a week- NOBODY took it, not even for scrap!
I agree. Who needs high tech 😅
Thank you for your kind words and for the helpful insight on Speed Queen! It is helpful for other customers researching their next washer 😀
That would be me, getting the clothes dirty muddy etc.. And dog blankets, dog towels etc..I need heavy duty serious washing
agree. the perfect clean does not do a thorough wash... any maintenance/ trade workers clothes , look at the classic clean.
Yours truly,
Jd......
We have a 2014 Speed Clean washer that fills up with water just like the old days. The best washer purchase we ever made. Only few hundreds bucks more than the junk that was available at the time, and 100% worth it.
which model did you get? Thanks
Which model do u have?
Yes Id like to know which model as well
I purchased a home in 2010 and have 4 children and husband and wife/ I’m remodeling my home now and would not ever think of buying any other brand of water or dryer >> I’m sure I could get a decent price for my old set if I choose to sell them but I’ll be gifting them to another family > thank you speed queen for building a durable 100% dependable product
Great review. Speed Queen seems like the way to go if you want longevity and durability. Thanks guys!
Glad it was helpful - Thanks for watching!
I purchased washer and dryer 5 months ago and the bleach is staying the enamel also the softener….shouldn’t be after spending $1,000 ea
Why is the bleach and softener staining the enamel tub on both washer and dryer
I bought the TR7 Speed Queen washing machine last year, after a frustrating battle with my HE one. (I could literally pull out a set of ‘ washed’ jeans and find one leg clean and one stained! )
When we remodeled, we decided to bite the bullet and buy the top SQ available.
Just curious if you've had any issues or it's still going strong?!
After
No issues!
Hello! I was wondering if you’re still just as happy with your TR7 Speed Queen washing machine? Also, do you have the matching dryer to go with it? And if so, would you recommend it as well? :)
Classic Clean is the only machine to choose. The wash action of the Perfect Wash is no comparison to Classic Clean with its impressive turn over.
This video was by far the most informative than the 3 different places i called asking for information and knowing the differences. 😂
Did you get the TC5 Classic Series model?
Is the 432 a TC model or TR?
@@CashMcHenry I'm not sure - the full model # is AWN432SPWH - but I do know it has a lid-lock (which I dismantled, lol) and an agitator. My 4 kids all use it & overfill it sometimes (even tho I've told them not to repeatedly), but it takes the abuse like a champ.
I just need super clean clothes not something to get me to the moon and back. Less is more and I’m in love with the classic one.
If the Apollo astronauts depended on the idiots who engineered most of today's consumer appliances to get them to the moon they would not have made it out of earth's atmosphere. In all likelihood they would have been blown up in an explosion at Kennedy Space Center.
Lol. Just true tho.
I bought a Speed Queen after suffering the disappointment of a Maytag Neptune washer which I learned to hate! I absolutely love the Speed Queen washer.
So glad they brought back the classic. It’s what made them famous!
So they make one model that's decent and the rest is garbage.
@@davidfuchs9636 Not at all what was meant. You are reading something that isn't there.
Speed Queen machines are also designed for the commercial market. Meaning they keep the components as similar as possible. This allows them to support models for decades instead of a few years. EG: The impeller in a speed quieen hasn't changed for 20 years that I can think of.
I bought one in 2017 for all of the reasons stated and I’m very happy with it.
Excellent excellent excellent video. Just watched. Just bought the TR5 and the DR5…. Can’t wait. Thank you for the video very clear. Good job.
Have to say, this was an awesome video, especially coming from an appliance company :). Wished I lived near you! Great work!
Classic is the way to go if you work at a job where you get real dirty, e.g a mechanic. If you just work the office job, the perfect wash is all you'll need.
@OneDayAfterAnother Buy both lol
@OneDayAfterAnother Quit your job but keep the washer.
This has been most informative, thank you so much!

Excellent Video.
Thanks so much for Being so Detailed.
Thank you for these details. I often do manual pre-soaks so it would be terribly inconvenient to deal with what you described.
Jonathan, please edit your comment to make it clear to readers that you are writing about the "Perfect Wash" machine.
Good to know, thank you very much for these details.
You should do a video on the speed queen classic clean front loaders, I do see them for sale occasionally…
This video explains it all. “Our 2018 model stirred up quite a bit of controversy from our devoted fans,…”
One day I'll own a set of these work horses. Hands down, best quality and when it comes down to brass tax, these machines take the golden crown. No gimmicks
I think it's "brass tacks".
For anyone watching this, buy the Classic Clean model only. You won't be disappointed. The Perfect Wash system has its share of issues.
This was damn informative. Thank ye!
Forget Maytag..it's been bought over by whirlpool an heard their appliances break down in less than 8 years..This is the junk they make now..My old one was made here in USA, not china! and so is Speed Queen..Proud to say this!!1
Patty.. what did you think about the TR7?
Speed queen “commercial” dryer is going strong ! It’s close to 15 years old with no issues. When the washer gives out a GE it will be the speed queen commercial series to replace it.
I have the 2017 speed queen washer and dryer I bought new, I wouldn’t have anything else, mine is the classic clean, it’s a great machine
I have an inherited Speed Queen, 30+ years old!
I have two questions does the water keep filling the tub when you open the door also, can you adjust the water level to the amount of closure putting in it does it have a small medium and large load water level knob or does it just have one level? Thanks.
Do you carry the machine without the motherboard i need a pull and start do you carry that old brand
When draining does the tub spin so dirt and soap goes out through the sides of the tub? OR does the tub stop, water drain out (filtering dirt through clean clothes) and then the high speed spin to extract water?
Started saving for one yesterday. Ive had a GE and LG, both with problems early on. Haven't madde up my mind between tc5 and tr5 yet.
Barry I agree with that Whirlpool/maytag washer but the old school maytag is a winner. I have one over 25 years and still running like the day I bought it.
same here!
Are the Speed Queen front loaders as reliable and well built as their top loaders?
I ordered the tr5 and matching dryer Saturday. Should arrive in 4-9 weeks
Are you satisfied with it? Looking at the same model myself
Did you order it online or at a store? I heard of you get it online you always have to go through them for any warranty stuff which could be a hassle vs a local store. No idea if that's true though..
We have had our speed Queen about 3 weeks and absolutely love it. Best we have had in our 25 years of marriage.
@@Mandy_39 we ordered through a local dealer.

After having my townhome flooded for the second time. My front loader LG is history. Bought the TC5003 cant wait.
What are the spin speeds for the classic clean and perfect wash?
Thank for the very informative video. I really appreciate it. I am trying to decide which SQ to buy. you mentioned being able to bypass water temp on normal/eco setting, how?
Spin speed. I noted in my experience these extract water best because they spin faster than other brands. Note this in future presentations.
Should I get a front load or top load?
can you wash a queen size or king size comforter in the classic clean ?
So using extra rinse with the Normal Eco cycle in effect gets you a normal (non eco) wash cycle?
When you select Prewash, does it wash twice, leaving the clothes completely clean when the washer stops? Or do you need to wash them in a completely new cycle?
Does Speed Queen washers have a filter? Should home owners clean the filter? If so, how do you access the filter?
Wondering if the Classic style's tub would be large enough to wash a sleeping bag, or several saddle pads? Love the idea of going back-to-basics, but we have a LOT of laundry that needs large capacity.
Once a year, go to a laundromat dude.
I have same question but not a large family. I just have critters.
@@ChevyORwalk which model is that? We have a king size bed and dont want to go to the launder mat
How loud is it? We are in a condo and considering a TC or a TR. I can close the door to that room.
I have a tr7 , not very happy with it , it doesn’t wash dirty clothes very well and I have to add time to get the clothes dry .
are there any other tub capacity than 3.2?
nope. but most people don't have an issue with that.
Just bought the classic clean but the clothes are super wet compared to my old one. In the dryer the clothes would dry in 35 minutes or less. On the two loads I did today it took over 2 hrs to semi dry. Not very happy 😢
Our friends in Australia have Speed Queens for the same reasons as us.
I had a fancy Samsung that fell apart after 2 years. I bought a speed Queen today!
Congrats on your Speed Queen purchase! We hope you're enjoying it already.
Are the front load speed queens any good? Our family likes front loaders but if sped queens front loads aren’t built like the top we will get a top loader.
Can you share the spin cycle RPMS to give us an idea of how fast/ how dry the clothes will be?
I love my TR7 set. Best washer and dryer set that I have ever owned. Highly recommended! Is there a setting that will leave the water running while the lid is up?
Well my old Speedqueen lets you fill with water while lid is up.
What happens if your washer is far from the hot water line and that there is a lot of cold water left in the line? Would that mean the hot wash is still a cold/warm wash?
Does it have a delicate cycle and a small load option?
Hi Mary, yes all models have a small load and delicate cycle option. You can see pictures of the control panel here to see exactly what settings you'll get for each model: blog.designerappliances.com/speed-queen-washer/
What is the clear plastic tub thing that came in my washer. I did not get an instruction book with my new washer.
I bought mine going on 3 years ago. I had trouble with my Whirlpool constantly getting out of balance. I never had that trouble with my Speed Queen. I bought the entry level model. I like the way these are made. They are made like tanks. You pay more but they are better
Since owning my TR7 I will never own anything other than a Speed Queen 👑 again.
When are you coming to Connecticut?
I'll save you the research. Get a TC5 the DC5 set washer and dryer. I've watched every video on RUclips they all say the same one. And I litteraly just bought it 3 days ago. About to wash the first cycle 😊
Just watched the video on how to PROPERLY clean the dispenser. I learned the dispenser pulls apart for cleaning, but you must SQUEEZE the top housing to separate it.
I have a TR5 and the status lights are blinking, this machine is not working properly. Is there a help forum that can be recommended 😢
Been a month since you posted, I'm wondering how you came out.
I purchased a speed queen washer tr3 can we disconnect the lock feature
I am shopping for my first Speed Queen set. Which model years are the best?? are there some I should avoid IF I have to purchase used?? Thanks so much
Yes, I recently purchased a TR3000WN.
How come they are not exporting these washers to Panamá?
I tend towards the mechanical controls over the electronic one.
How do you like it
