My idler pulley does not turn at all, barely turns with a large flathead screwdriver. When the machine is running the pully does not seem to spin at all, but the belt is still moving and everything else is turning. The problem we have is that the machine won't agitate but it will do the spin cycle. My question is how and why would the pully be causing the machine to not agitate? Is this stuck pully the real problem with the machine? I didn't see any other problems. The plastic agitator and bell all seem fine.
One of the best instructional videos I have seen. Helping me tremendously with my own Queen. Great work tx
Very well done! Thank you for your hard work, and helping others with this repair!
The best video I've seen so far. Well done boet.
EXCELLENT STEP BY STEP
Great video thanks - could you recommend spares places in SA to purchase solenoid unit and belt for older model speed Queen washer ?

@7:45 you spin the metal part..mine dies mot spin freely. What is the problem? Bad bearing?
i have similar old speed queen but during spin, it shakes a lot what could be the issue?
You need to change the tub bearing. The machine will soon start to leak on the floor .
Cheers!
So I bought the same belt for my washing machine but it’s not as tight as it should be because my drive pulley is spinning but my belt hardly moves
Belts are different amongst models. My Speed Queen uses a 38174 which is different than the one shown in the video.
Make a video of it running
watch the end of the video
