  • Project Binky: A Toyota Celica GT-Four engine, gearbox and running gear is being shoe-horned into a 1980 Mini 1000. In episode 3, the turbo-charged 3SGTE engine gets put aside as we concentrate on getting the rear suspension and sub-frame mounted in the back of the Mini. Silliness abounds in this monster project.

I love going back and rewatching these early episodes. It's mindboggling how much work has gone into this.

In 2019 watching this. I know you guys get a lot of grief about how long its taking but to be honest given the amount of fabrication, video editing and of course family time/regular job you're actually pretty quick. Any one who has had to build something gets this. Huge props to you. It's about the journey not the destination. Which funny enough is a vehicles sole purpose.

Rolled right through the ten episodes and was soon bummed when I found that was as far as the build has progressed. Well! Guess I'm hooked and will be catching up with project binky from time to time.

Lenny Bogart Hi Lenny, thanks for your constructive criticism. It just goes to show that humour, like many things is subjective. • @alwAudio

It's the precision in the fabrication work that is so incredible, there's so little of the original shell left yet every new part is just perfect. Given the complexity and the 3-dimensional nature of the work you must have a real innate ability to visualise the end result. My wife's first car was a mini and I still have such a fondness for them, I can't wait to see how this one drives when it's complete.
