I really dislike when someone takes an interview that's at least 6 months to a year (maybe 2 years) old, repackages it, and puts it on RUclips like it's a new interview. How do I know it's not new? the part about the Russia - Ukraine war is discussed like it is Dec / Jan time frame (note: this was posted on Nov 1st 2024).

Also, the TMX pipeline is clearly working now and moving a lot of oil to the coast and greatly improving our market access - Peter said he doubted the line would even open. Also in 2025 we'll export LNG in large quantity from the BC coast - yet no reference to this. Way out of date

Yeah, you should never take anyone's predictions of the future as gospel. Even more so if they're making good money doing it. I do still really enjoy listening to Peter though. I do enjoy how he's still optimistic about the US/NA though. Especially considering a lot of folks tend to not be these days. I've always thought the US, Canada, and Mexico should be a lot closer. North America would totally dominate if we did (imho).

The Philippines is still the blindspot in Peter Zeihan's geopolitical mindsight. It's a country that has one-third of the US population in an area the size of California or more like Florida and Georgia combined. It also has a fractured mountainous island geography that has internal inter-island waters that act like the Mississippi-Missouri-Ohio river systems, somewhat similar to Japan and Indonesia. Peter doesn't seem to have a demographic view of the Philippines, probably because no one has yet hired him to look at the archipelago in detail.

He predicts that there will be a ventral decline, possibly resulting in geopolitical collapse and chaos, if the situation is managed badly (which it's very likely to be). On the other hand, if politicians actually do their jobs, there are ways to navigate the population decline and assimilation issues in the west that can put us in a better position than China and Russia will be at the end of this process. He predicts China and Russia will both collapse and break up Soviet-style.

The CIGS panels would help Germany. Mono solar panels fall off terribly, compared to CIGS, in cloudy and off-axis situations. Maybe, they could trade their mono panels, to another area.

The comments on the Nordstream pipeline is him just blowing smoke. Look up Danish Harbour Master and Nordstream pipeline. A harbour Master who went out to see why some ships turned off their locators. He was told to turn around and not talk about what he had seen after witnessing several American naval ships in the location where the pipelines were blown up. 4 days before they were blown up.

When a dam breaks, it is sudden failure, hard to predict. Soviet broke few years after economic crisis. North Korea can survive decades after 10-20% of population dies from starvation.
Soviet broke off into dozens of republic, all people that can travel migrated to rich countries. Soviet engineers, factories, military hardware and even young girls were sold off. There were Russian girls selling themselves in Thailand and Tokyo in 90s. Similar to Russia, China has history of decades long revolutions for millennia.
Like Russians, when Chinese exiled migrants settle in neighboring countries they claim it was Chinese territory all along after few centuries.

I’m glad you are always willing to change your mind based on new information.
The 2 E.V. companies that make a profit selling EV’s ( TESLA & BYD ) are dramatically reducing the material costs to make a car.
Already the newest Tesla’s uses less copper than a typical Gasoline car.
Modern Battery’s are made from LITHIUM ( NOT the highly refined version of the past ) iron and potassium ((LFP )).
NICKLE & COBALT -are no longer being used.
Tesla is focused on efficiency to make their cars attractive price wise.
So the carbon footprint of a TESLA has been dramatically reduced.
When you add back all the solar panels EV owners charge their cars with or renewable energy sources because they cost so much less to operate than coal, gas or Nuclear.
The pure truth is 80% of the cost of electricity is the fuel required to generate it. Wind and solar (+ falling water) are all free. No matter how abundant natural gas is it’s not going to be free.

I don’t believe the Kursk bridge has fallen yet, that’s an ongoing risk, also surprise surprise north & South Korea have entered the fray , w potentiality for NATO to put men on the ground, to address the escalation, so new scenarios emerging . also more & more F16s swooping in to challenge air superiority . & the rise of drones & pace of evolution , could see new black swan tech within the next 6months. such as the launch of lazer air defence in the M.E. We also have a Kursk front now, so the evaluation here is a bit out of date on Ukraines “options” & methods of stretching Russia’s forces as-well as regular deep state impact from long range drone strikes on oil depots (impacting revenue) & ammunition dumps (taking the momentum away from advancing forces)
there’s also hostility within other surrounding states, so unsure how that will impact the wider imperial line

Unemployment at 7.5%, sky high living costs, massive property tax increases, insanely high energy and insurance bills, and every single public union out of contract and pissed. Oh, and our healthcare system is on the brink of collapse every single flu season.
