I always told my boys, If they've never beat you it doesn't matter what they're ranked. If they have beat you, nothing says you can't beat them this time.
That's awesome. I love Jersey wrestling. It's my favorite state at the high school level. P.S. I know Pennsylvania is #1, but Jersey is #2 in my mind, without a doubt. And it's the most fun.
@@2Minihats You left out the only other state that has only 1 state champion which is California. Watch out for Florida now that a lot of high level coaches moving into the state.
I'm a Badgers fan. Haven't seen much of George. Thoughts? He got a chance to be a starter in the B1G or is he a depth guy? I understand nobody REALLY know shit until you get there. 6X State Champs flame out and guys who don't win State Titles win multiple NCAA Titles. I'm just asking for a gauge on what type of prospect he is.
This was exciting wrestling because of the high scoring affair, but make no mistake these boys would be crushed by any other high ranked opponent from any other state. That was incredibly sloppy.
Yannis is a multi-time National Champion and legitimate All-American who has placed at some of the best tournaments in the country. Not to mention a Fargo Placer. Julian doesn’t even need to be spoken on. There’s a reason he’s ranked nationally and is being pursued by the best college programs in the country. It was not sloppy. It was two very high level wrestlers going at it and showing their ability to score in many different positions.
Also, crushed by any other high ranked opponent? Doubt it. Yannis just showed that the very best in South Carolina, a notoriously weak wrestling state can compete with anyone if given the right opportunity. Julian George just placed at the Super 32 and beat multiple wrestlers that are currently ranked in the Top 20 Nationally.
I didn't think it was sloppy. I saw two good kids battling and fatigue played a part. Great match. There were some positions they got into that could be foreseen as sloppy if you aren't up on modern wrestling with leg passing and Houdini back door escapes.

Best post I've seen about rankings
AMAZING SCRAP! became fans of both. the young man winning showing emotions at end was very inspiring
Great job kid, love that under dog fight. Kept the offense til the end and didn’t back down.
Being #1 means you get everyone's best shot.
SC representing! Good win.

Illinois, Ohio, Iowa and Jersey all produce an insane amount of talent. Anyone who disagrees is a casual.
This is Yannis’ first season in jersey, he’s a South Carolina kid
@@gamingbros2286 Really? Interesting. He's definitely made a statement knocking off the #1 guy in the state. Thanks for the info. 👍🏽

Never seen a supposed #1 wrestler get so many points scored on them.
His first real competitor
Anyone can beat anyone in this sport that’s part of what makes it great!
Watch when Bo Nickal lost to Myles Martin in the NCAA finals. In order to beat the good guys you gotta put up points.
You must not watch wrestling very much. Anyone can lose on any given day. Even get pinned.
Yea you definitely didn’t watch the Spencer lee match
That tilt at :15 was beautiful
Yannis is a force. Putting up crazy points against #1 and coming out on top, kid's going to be great.
Wrestled him my first year ever got a takedown and then got cradled in the second lol
He won't win next time. Delbarton already figured out how to counter the initial 5 point tilt.
@@christopheraragona2997 he’s in states finals rn lok
Yannis beat the #2 kid the next morning, he’s only a 4th year wrestler… South Carolina on top baby!!
Freaking beast he beat the hell out of me
Clover boy
Boys never wrestled a pa top wrestler
@@masonavery7958 NJ and PA on equal terms HS wrestling wise.

Yannis on Top

Dude you’re delusional! Jersey has sone of the high school wrestling in the country!!
That's funny

Back when I wrestled 105 and 112 pounders looked like these guys .. I guess it was the tap water we drinking instead of bottled water. LoL
Wow good wrestling there.
yannis letting yall know these carolina boys can wrestle!
What was that roll he scored with at the beginning ?
Called a falcon
Dan Gable would be upset at that many points. I don’t think he gave up that many points in a whole year.
Dan Gable you are old school
South Carolina on top
Jonsey for the win
LFG!!!
11:12 . . . I’m going to let go of your leg now. . .
It’s some middle school wrestlers you have to check out.
CBA, what happened?
#1 aye?
Ref missed a pin @ the 1:07 mark
totally, fuckin terrible!
He’s not #1 anymore.
That kid wouldn’t be in the top 15 in West Virginia.
Bro nj is ten times better then West Virginia
@@Shanetrau ha. Maybe a couple schools . Come On.
