    This was such a pleasure to watch! I’m new to soapmaking and I think when I tried the first time, I might have blended too long so when I tried to split into 3 bowls to color them, it was already starting to harden up a bit. But hey you learn by trying and watching others. Yours seems more runny than mine was so I’ll try to aim for that the next time I try 😄

    • @sadiesoaps
      @sadiesoaps  11 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks for watching! You will definitely learn as you go and have a lot of fun along the way. Trace can be tricky. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, an accelerating fragrance will come along to show you who is boss 😉

    • @dmvelez9430
      @dmvelez9430 2 месяца назад +2

      I had the same problem when I started out. I've learned soaping at cooler temperatures helps, and not stick blending to 'trace.' Just blending until the oils and lye water are fully emulsified into one homogenous liquid that doesn't separate gives you MUCH more time! Then if you need to speed it up, like if making layers, you can stick blend it a bit more right before pouring that layer. Happy Soaping!!

    This is beautiful! The yellow looks so much lighter. I’m very new to soaping. I look forward to being this comfortable with it. Thanks for creating and sharing.

    • @sadiesoaps
      @sadiesoaps  2 года назад +6

      Oranges often lighten after soap cures, and yellow often is darker (some turn orange) in raw soap. It takes a lot of soaping to get an idea of what the cured color will be, especially when mixing. I got lucky this time that it was almost exactly the color I was going for. Keep soaping and don’t be afraid to make mistakes with your colors and designs 😊

      I have more issues with fatty bloom than soda ash because I have a high butter content in my soap, but to prevent ash I spray with 99% alcohol, then I put my soap in a small plastic tote. I have a heating pad under it and cover with a blanket. If u have trouble with ash, try spraying the top with sparkle plenty by mad micas. It shimmers and hides the ash.

    Could you tell me how to calculate water?

    • @sadiesoaps
      @sadiesoaps  Год назад

      I usually do about 2:1 to lye, so if my lye was 100g, I would use about 200g of water

    Whats the rod you used to make the swirl?

    • @sadiesoaps
      @sadiesoaps  6 месяцев назад

      It is a gear tie. Nothing fancy and easy to find. Much less expensive than the swirling tools sold by soap companies and you can bend it to fit your mold.

    Which blender is good for soap making

      @sadiesoaps  Год назад

      Any immersion blender should work. I have a super cheap one, maybe $10-15 on amazon) and it’s perfect.

      I didn’t. I believe the recipe I used for this batch contained mango and Shea butters, olive, coconut, and castor oils. I have been thinking I should post my palm free, vegan soap recipes. Not sure how to make a good video of it though.
