I love Susan Roman's voice, she just seems tomboyish but also very sincere and kindhearted, very fitting. I think it's a big part of why people loved 'Lita' as a kid, and why so many people had her as their favorite since her voice gave her a sensitivity and friendliness that you could hear, while still having a toughness that gave her some grit. And Amanda C. Miller said she grew up loving Sailor Jupiter best too, so it's awesome to see her take on the character. This is one case where both actresses do really great jobs in different ways. With Susan you kind of get to know Lita right away from her tone always having that tomboyishness; but with Amanda, she has layers to her take where she puts on a different tone for situations like being girlish infront of Motoki or having a toughgirl voice with threats.
This wouldn't be Susan's first rodeo sounding Tomboyish. She made her voice a little more gruff when she voiced Champ Bear from the 80s and 90s series of Care Bears. I've been asking myself why Lita (or Mokoto Kino-chan) sounded familiar. Now I should have picked up on that Champ Bear is Lita-chan or should I say Mokoto Kino-chan.

As a kid, Jupiter was such an important character for me to see, not only did I sound like her(the tomboyish sounding Susan Roman), I looked like her, I was a tomboy who fought a LOT of boys in my school. I was labeled a delinquent too despite me basically being cornered and forced to fight to defend myself against people who kept ganging up on me all the time. That side of me always battled with my feminine side which I was forced to repress for number of reasons. I was often pitted against boys in PE because I was much taller and stronger (same height as the character too) which earned me their ire a LOT! Needless to say Makoto/Lita's problems resonated with me on a real visceral level. (Though it I also resonated with Ami too because I was an egghead who liked science & computers.) I just wish she broke out of the 'forever single' club, because of who she is... it was the only discouraging thing about her character I'd say from back then. To this day I hope she found that happiness she kept searching for, if she can, so can I.

Susan Roman has the best range to me. She can go from adorable tomgirl voice right into an appropriately thunderous voice. Plus, that slight rasp sounds a little more iconic to me. She doesn't get quite the same energy and range in her voice, but her acting is very on point and the voice still really fits. Her dialog is closer to the original series too, which helps a lot.

Breath of the Wild Link came from a family of peasants (those who didn't belong in nobility or royalty) who became knights, like other commoners who became knights (both in fiction AND in real life). So he was a commoner who became Zelda's appointed knight while still bein' a commoner. Historically, some peasants became knights. Breath of the Wild Zelda was in love with him, even after 100 years since the Great Calamity. After they beat Ganondorf, maybe Link kin be her king consort (with a commoner's background). The French version of Kass's song says that they'll rule over Hyrule together with a great peace AND prosperity. That could make Breath of the Wild Link the first Link to be a prince consort or a king consort ('cuz he was born in humility to the peasants who became knights), with Breath of the Wild Zelda as his queen. The book confirms that the affection was mutual. A peasant boy fallin' in love with a princess? Oh yeah.
No matter how bad the og 90s DUB was and how much it felt like a parody half a time, the inner senshi all had some really great voice actors who gave a great performances. Especially Mako and Usagi’s VA’s.

I love Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter and Susan Roman’s & Amanda Miller’s amazing Va for her. She was the very first character in Sailor Moon I became a huge fan of. She’s very cute, beautiful, cool, funny, hilarious, and absolute badass tomboy. Plus green is one of my fav colors besides blue and lightning is one of my favorite elements, alongside Fire and Water, hence why Sailor Jupiter, Mars and Neptune are my absolute favorite characters in the series.

Emi Shinohara- Her voice is so amazing! She portrayed it perfectly!, She made Makoto/Jupiter one my favourite scouts! (She's a good character but Ami and Rei are my favourite inner scouts now.) Ami Koshimizu- She sounds a bit like Emi but not that close, she does a great job but i haven't felt anything from her voice. Susan Roman- Her voice portrayed Jupiter perfectly but it sounds a bit tomboyish, to bad she was with a cringy script, She did amazing anyway! Amanda Celine Miller- I love her voice! Thanks to these videos, I get to know more voice actors, hear what they can do and it allows me the chance to give my characters greater life. Who knows I might create an amazing work you would praise and if you want to know how I made it videos like these were a great help.
I like both versions of the English translation of Sailor Jupiter. But for me, Susan Roman was able to give a certain charm to a tall and strong teenage girl, and Amanda's voice turned out to be too adult - like a 30-year-old adult girl.
I'm not sure why, but Roman's voice always conveyed the sense of a teenage girl somehow. Maybe it's the slight husky edge that made it easy to slide from tough to sensitive.
Emi is the best Makoto, she balances out her tough but feminine tone perfectly. Ami wasn’t too bad, but sometimes she sounded TOO masculine. I love both English voices
Happy new year 2021, plus Valentines for Susan, because she debuted in DIC episode #21 "Jupiter comes Thundering in", the only episode with her Scout name in the opening Title Card, plus MissTracey Moore returned especially for this episode to fill in for Terri Hawkes who had already debuted in #12 "An Unnatural Phenomenon", with Nefflite as the enemy. But Lita/Jupiter had to deal with " Madame Zoicite" with the late Kirsten Bishop with her evil cackling. Then later in the next story about the Doom Tree, Susan delivered her strongest line, with "Jupiter-Thunder-DRAGON" that unleashed a lightning dragon against Mop head, in the playground fight. Plus Susan added a little glitch at the end of her lined when Litas' voice cracked that reminded us that she is a 14 year old teenage girl going through growing pains and she grew taller and faster than usual, so other people treated her more differently. Plus in the manga and Japanese episodes, it is said her parents died in a plane crash. Yet in DIC and Cloverway episodes, those writers changed it to seem Lita still had her parents. But Lita is still sad as an only child, and an orphan, and extra tall. Luckily, Serena came along and accepted her as a good friend who can cook plus a Sailor Scout who will protect her as a friend and Princess and Neo Queen Serenity. Lita and Jupiter and Susan Roman is the Ideal combination. God Bless, and Thank You Susan for the past 25 years of friendship and magic!!!!!
my favorite thing about sailor jupiter is how distinct her voice stayed between both DiC and ViZ dubs, where as serena and amy’s voices are drastically different.
Just like on one of the panels where Susan says Terry Hawkes is Sailor Moon, and she played it so flawlessly effortlessly that’s how Susan was with Jupiter. It’s so crazy but DiC, knew exactly what they were doing and the voices are just perfect.

Sailor Jupiter in the Viz Media dub was my introduction to Amanda C Miller as an Actress. As great as Makoto's Japanese Voices are, Amanda's voice is the one I think of when it comes to the character.

OK here is the deal I love both of the English dub both the original and new if you say about the voice actress being too much for their characters again you need to shut up and stop saying it
Dude, I have no idea what your problem is. But here is what I meant to say. I want to create Anime or Media projects in the future. Thanks to these videos, I get to know more voice actors, hear what they can do and it allows me the chance to give my characters greater life. Who knows I might create an amazing work you would praise and if you want to know how I made it videos like these were a great help.

I like both versions of the English translation of Sailor Jupiter. But for me, Susan Roman was able to give a certain charm to a tall and strong teenage girl, and Amanda's voice turned out to be too adult - like a 30-year-old adult girl.
The same Japanese voice actress, Emi Shinohara, also played Jadeite's monster, youma Kyurene, before Sailor Jupiter appear.
Susan Roman: Tomboy as hell.
Amanda C. Miller: A mature woman.

I'm not sure why, but Roman's voice always conveyed the sense of a teenage girl somehow. Maybe it's the slight husky edge that made it easy to slide from tough to sensitive.

Emi is the best Makoto, she balances out her tough but feminine tone perfectly. Ami wasn’t too bad, but sometimes she sounded TOO masculine. I love both English voices

Happy new year 2021, plus Valentines for Susan, because she debuted in DIC episode #21 "Jupiter comes Thundering in", the only episode with her Scout name in the opening Title Card, plus MissTracey Moore returned especially for this episode to fill in for Terri Hawkes who had already debuted in #12 "An Unnatural Phenomenon", with Nefflite as the enemy. But Lita/Jupiter had to deal with " Madame Zoicite" with the late Kirsten Bishop with her evil cackling. Then later in the next story about the Doom Tree, Susan delivered her strongest line, with "Jupiter-Thunder-DRAGON" that unleashed a lightning dragon against Mop head, in the playground fight. Plus Susan added a little glitch at the end of her lined when Litas' voice cracked that reminded us that she is a 14 year old teenage girl going through growing pains and she grew taller and faster than usual, so other people treated her more differently. Plus in the manga and Japanese episodes, it is said her parents died in a plane crash. Yet in DIC and Cloverway episodes, those writers changed it to seem Lita still had her parents. But Lita is still sad as an only child, and an orphan, and extra tall. Luckily, Serena came along and accepted her as a good friend who can cook plus a Sailor Scout who will protect her as a friend and Princess and Neo Queen Serenity. Lita and Jupiter and Susan Roman is the Ideal combination. God Bless, and Thank You Susan for the past 25 years of friendship and magic!!!!!

my favorite thing about sailor jupiter is how distinct her voice stayed between both DiC and ViZ dubs, where as serena and amy’s voices are drastically different.
If she’s related to Masanori Shinohara, that he’ll have my condolences.
Just like on one of the panels where Susan says Terry Hawkes is Sailor Moon, and she played it so flawlessly effortlessly that’s how Susan was with Jupiter. It’s so crazy but DiC, knew exactly what they were doing and the voices are just perfect.

Sailor Jupiter in the Viz Media dub was my introduction to Amanda C Miller as an Actress. As great as Makoto's Japanese Voices are, Amanda's voice is the one I think of when it comes to the character.
for me i got into Amanda through the game Danganronpa, though surprisingly i first heard her as Nine from Blazblue Chronophantasma but i never noticed it was her until i saw a voice comparison video for Blazblue Cross Tag Battle
