I've used nearly everything. Shot Fujifilm for many years and because of how they messed up the XT5 firmware, I went back to 3 A7RIII bodies. I love the camera, particularly the AF and the detail and dynamic range. Bulletproof shutter, too.
I would never trade my Riii for the 7iv but i only do photos. Imo the Riii has one of the best sensors ever made. I ended up returning my Riv after a week. I couldn't deal with how noisy it was and the AF wasn't a big enough upgrade to want to deal with it.
thanks for sharing Edward! Yeah I think people need to really understand what they're going to be using a camera for before making a purchase, definitely no need to upgrade for photography and it's even a downgrade in terms of mega pixels!
I agree with you, in 2020 i had the choice between the a7r3 and a7r4, i taken the a7r3 for the captor, less noise, better for lowlight... etc the a7r5 is a true game changing but 61mpx are too much ! The a74 no, but the A7cii i think can be my new camera, i do still and a lot of streetphotography
@@MattyDCCollinsSent it to a specialist to remove the red filter from in front of the sensor. Now I can shoot any wavelength of infrared, IRChrome and even regular colour with an IR Cut filter.
As a videographer that shoots the A7R ii commercially... it's a good camera to have and takes wonderful photos as well as absolutely stunning videos. I don't care about 120. I can achieve what's needed in 1080 60 and upscale in davinci to 4K. 4K 30 is beast mode and is what I mainly shoot. if i need super slow, the 1080 120 is great, you can bring the details back and oversample without harshness in post. Gotta be patient with the camera.
great lens selection to cover most things also the sigma 24-70 is amazing but the tamron 28-75 is also awesome! a7sii would be fine for video still, it's a great camera just not the best in class auto focus cause it older - also has 30 min record limit. 12mp photos on it are fine for social media.
Only bcz of s-cinetone yes it is really good doing videos... but in technical specs for the price I'm leaning more towards lumix and nikon tbh. I think sony is only better for landscape and wildlife photography compared to the competition

Fully agree, such a great camera and maybe some good deals to come on used units!

@@gearscolewhy you don't want the A7IV?
I got my A7Riii converted to infrared and now I'm shooting infrared video as well as using it for ir photography.
Sounds legit how did you even do that?

Impressive that you haven’t let the gear acquisition creep enter your business, good for you Tony!
Is the a7s ii still good for video prior and some stills on the side??( A lens to cover all?? The tamron 28-75???)

@@MattyDCCollins thanks a lot
I love sony a7r iii for resolution n print photo, the best
yea having the extra mega pixels is nice for print!
Def agree if I shoot photos canon is so good it's not even a question but sony is still the king of video for the time being
Respect buddy. Yeah I got no BEEF with Canon at all!
@@MattyDCCollins yeah I shoot sony but when I was India shooting canon for pic the comparison was night in day for the photos.
